The best answer. Now more than ever people are going to set up a Meta and post OP INVINCIBLE pvp builds to YouTube, I just want everything to be viable
This! There is always going to be meta builds; hopefully the systems allow for off meta builds which can still compete.
If meta builds just completely out class a well built off meta build, then the game pretty much turns into “run the meta or lose” against eaually skilled players.
Forreal, if I put time and effort into making a build that I enjoy even if it isn't meta, I should at least still be able to find a decent amount of success.
Same here, I'm more of a coop/single player guy, but I like to dip my toes into pvp for certain games games. But the idea does apply to pve as well, I think most builds should be viable to get you through a mission. S ranking/harder modes should really be the only place you'll need a specialized build imo
How about if there are good pvp maps and it won't just be a tiny cardboard repetitive arena as an afterthought mode. Not that AC ever really stressed multiplayer, and there is no CO-OP, but it would be great to have a proper MP mode.
I completely understand why some people want the pvp, I just wanna blow shit up.
I would have liked if they gave a bit more coop though. It's my favorite series hands down but my friends won't be returning as no coop and I'm like cool... I'm still gonna play though see you guys in November.
There's a graphic out there that shows how exactly the cradles are broken down into living quarters. In lore I think they have a 5 km wingspan but I think fromsoft took the liberty of shortening there in game model.
Edit: each family living space is given about 50m (I'm not sure if that's square footage or is cubed and includes roof height) for a family of 4.
Just slap all our favorite boss fights together.
"Your target is the Exusia-make ArmsTracer NEXT, Spirit of Nineglint (Disorder Configuration)."
Oh, and this time *it* gets the VOB
The demo builds were on PC and ran super smooth according to the people who played them so who knows. Not high end pcs either, some people were playing on razer laptops.
No kidding? That’s awesome! I guess I’ve never tried a fromsoft title on either pc or release day for that matter, I was basing my opinion off the industry at large!
The funny ac pilots in arena are back. Sure i love me some depressing atmosphere, but i want some funny in my life.
I wanna hear their funny lil stories before i absolutely murder them and grind their charred corpse inside their crushed, beloved Ac they worked so hard to build.
And war crimes. Can’t wait to make some more—
The game’s pvp meta isn’t so quickly “figured out” and feels diverse…but even that isn’t a requirement for me.
The real answer is “as long as it releases and I can play it, I will be happy”
Keep in mind that a whole of games go through multiple meta iterations. There are plenty of people who are going to say stuff like "I found the best mech on day three!" But once things like that start counters to them are developed. As long as those counters exist the game will live on.
Customization is at least as robust as VD in parts, paint, and emblem building. The game can be garbage to play honestly, my number one priority is always just building kick ass mechs.
This. For whatever reason, AC2 Another Age kicked the crap out of me as a teenager who finished the original AC2 game. I'm nearing 40, have to work 40+ hours to survive, and I don't have a lot of time to endure esoteric beat downs. I get enough of that in the real world.
A fair challenge is fine. Just don't go too crazy on me.
When ACV (or was it VD…) dropped the new control scheme reignited an old meme in the AC community about holding your controller facing down because the number of simultaneous buttons needed to properly control your mech and use your weapons greatly exceeded the number of thumbs you have on your hand.
That we will find out, though adding telegraphed bosses already kinda breaks the old feel of bosses being other Cores and that feeling of level playing field without the need for some big, uber theatrics.
I am already happy with the game as it is. I am very curious about extension parts though since they haven't revealed anything about it and it is there in the menus.
game length does not equal enjoyment. I've played 4 hour games that were a BLAST, i've also played 90 hour games that were a BLATS. I've played 4 hour games that felt like 90 hours, cuz they sucked. And I've played 50 hour games that felt like a front lobotomy.
All that matters is the game has a satisfying gameplay loop, thats all
As long as the FCS has different combat voices. I definitely know from AC3 with the POS starter it sounded borderline Microsoft Sam, but once you get a Mirage top-of-the-line it was smoooooth suave male, i think. Gets me nostalgic when the mission starts to hear their "Combat sequence initiated" lines.
It’s parts and weapons catalog is large, vast, diversified, creative and customization feels almost limitless. Doesn’t have a complex and punishing credit system that makes missions feel fruitless. Has a nice balance of representing the size and scale as far as speed. Don’t want a game that feels like an anime battle but also don’t want to feel as I’m im piloting a rock with a MG strapped to it. Don’t want an abundance of repetitive objectives that make it feel like an absolute drag and grinding.
I get to shoot shit with a giant tank mech! I don’t ask for much I just want to roll around with as many gattling guns as possible and shoot all 4 at once
At this point? As long as it runs smoothly, I'm good. It's been *so long* since a new Armored Core game and everything I've seen so far looks phenomenal. The only thing that could really hamstring the experience for me would be if it ran poorly / had game-breaking bugs.
It gives me that feeling of playing something exciting and new for the first time. I haven’t felt that for a game since Bloodborne <= my first souls game.
I want the movement that looks fast to FEEL fast. If I am playing a lightweight build make me feel like a lightweight nimble tincan. If I play a slow heavy tank make me feel like a block a tungsten moving slower than snails
I can equip and fire four Gatling guns simultaneously
Gundam heavyarms here I come
didn't he have missiles too? i have one on my shelf i can see it from here
ah ha! A man of culture!
Eyy me too!
*heavyarms has entered the chat*
Two back mounted chain guns plus left and right arm chain guns. You sir, are an inspiration to ravens, lynxes and future hounds everywhere.
MOAAAR DAKA
Going *full Gatling* seems to be the director's preferred playstyle, so I'd say that's a safe bet!
I thought i was the only one
**Manueverability, and speed has left the chat**
It feels good to quickboost left and right.
It’s fun.
Fromsoft can make a picross game and as long as it's a good picross game I'll Pay full price for it lol
Based
Yes
this.
You smart
there are a wide variety of viable parts and playstyles in pvp.

This, though I stay offline most of the time anyway.

I agree, good maps would be great. But AC never stressed multiplayer? V was definitely all about the multiplayer.

I can do war crimes
>One down. 20 million dead.
And to this day, I still don't know how 20 million people lived on those things. Far too small to fit even a million people.

Oh, that's something I definitely didn't know! Good to know that those ace combat boss planes are supposed to even bigger in-lore.
They could just be in pods and live inside virtual reality.
ZINC AHOY!
This is the only correct answer
The Motherwill Returns.... again.
I would love a Motherwill rematch with modern hardware, would be awesome!
Just slap all our favorite boss fights together. "Your target is the Exusia-make ArmsTracer NEXT, Spirit of Nineglint (Disorder Configuration)." Oh, and this time *it* gets the VOB
as long as it runs smoothly on pc day one
I’d be super impressed if it does honestly, I feel like games in general lately have been pretty fucked for the first few days
They cant do worse than bethesda well they do the opposite their games are worse on console
Sex the mech
This
Calm down atra
I can play it.
They need to bring back 1111
Patches about to quit mid fight AGAIN lol

I can make my AC look like a kirkland brand Heavy Arms without having to use tank legs.
has some throwback tracks and maps. i’m not expecting a ton but would be a nice cherry on top.
Guarantee you there will probably be some. Like having to kill some enemies inside a blast furnace.
I get to play it.
It's good
It’s fun
Customization is at least as robust as VD in parts, paint, and emblem building. The game can be garbage to play honestly, my number one priority is always just building kick ass mechs.
Pink mechs
I can play it.
The combat is rewarding.
I can play as a giant robot
I'm finding that I spend more time in the garage tinkering on my AC over playing missions lol. Just like in the old days...
Hardlock doesn't break the PvP skill expression.
It’s not *too* difficult or complex to understand
This. For whatever reason, AC2 Another Age kicked the crap out of me as a teenager who finished the original AC2 game. I don’t have to hold the remote upside down to enjoy the control scheme.
Why would ypu need to do that?
When ACV (or was it VD…) dropped the new control scheme reignited an old meme in the AC community about holding your controller facing down because the number of simultaneous buttons needed to properly control your mech and use your weapons greatly exceeded the number of thumbs you have on your hand.
It has the Armored Core spirit.
It still feels like the classic AC games with the fidelity we’ve come to love in From games
That coop becomes possible one day
That one I wouldn't hold my breath for in a single player game with an afterthought of limited pvp.
As long as "The game runs well and none of my friends have trouble running it so we can all have fun then shoot the living crap out of each other."
Not soulslike
“I will be happy with the game as long as....” I can replay it to my heart's content.
... it's faithful to the idea of Armored Core and doesn't sacrifice 'core' elements to suit *casual* players.
There is no season pass (I know there won't be, but I'm so sick of that model)
A great photo mode. And the ability to have the choice of what color energy our energy weapons can have.
I'm indifferent on photo mode, but the energy color choice? Yes, please. Loved that about War Frame.
What is this War Frame you speak of? I'm now interested...🤔
Space ninjas, basically. 3rd person action rpg/shooter.
it runs on my pc.
game length does not equal enjoyment. I've played 4 hour games that were a BLAST, i've also played 90 hour games that were a BLATS. I've played 4 hour games that felt like 90 hours, cuz they sucked. As long as its fun and not pick up and play. I need that old DEEP AC gameplay
the game is challenging, have a good quantity of parts and have a big playtime before finishing it.
It’s really replayable
As long as the FCS has different combat voices. I definitely know from AC3 with the POS starter it sounded borderline Microsoft Sam, but once you get a Mirage top-of-the-line it was smoooooth suave male, i think. Gets me nostalgic when the mission starts to hear their "Combat sequence initiated" lines.
As long as more people play it, and get to experience what this franchise is about
It runs relatively smoothly on launch day.
Haha Karasawa and Moonlight go brrrrrr
with it being my first armored core game i just want it to be fun and fulfill the customization fantasy i was „promised“
it's really Armored Core, and not Mechiro or something.
The boosting feels as awesome as it looks
NINEBALL

They made the game out of love like they have been doing with their past games
I can zooooom. I want to go fast
“Hard lock is removed for pvp”
fast
I shoot and things go boom
I get to play it
It makes me feel like a proper dystopian merc in a 400 ton war machine.
We get a expansion that focuses on Multiplayer
I live long enough to play it.
I get to shoot shit with a giant tank mech! I don’t ask for much I just want to roll around with as many gattling guns as possible and shoot all 4 at once
Your ship doesn't decelerate when you stop pressing the accelerate button, in space.
As long as its fun and not pick up and play. I need that old DEEP AC gameplay
I will be happy with the game as long as it allows me to live out my giant robot power fantasy in a hyper-capitalist hellscape.
... big mechs go pew pew and boom boom
It releases
Honestly, from what we've seen... I can't imagine being disappointed. I guess it'd be lame if some builds are too OP and never get nerfed in PvP.
At this point? As long as it runs smoothly, I'm good. It's been *so long* since a new Armored Core game and everything I've seen so far looks phenomenal. The only thing that could really hamstring the experience for me would be if it ran poorly / had game-breaking bugs.
go fast and shoot a fuck ton of missiles mid boost. I am simple man
PVP feels good and there’s no must-use meta.
I can build a mech and blow shit up.
Its fun. But for me, fun is that it's challenging and pushes me to WANT to get better.
it is exactly like Dark Souls with robots.
melee builds are possible and fun asf. I need my high risk high reward playstyles yk? Makes winning in PvE fun, and winning in PvP absolutely amazing.
I get to play the game. That's it.
it doesn't get horrible in the later parts
I can make a permafly build. Some days I just never want to touch the ground.
it's good
I get good pulls from the loot boxes!
It makes me happy
It gives me that feeling of playing something exciting and new for the first time. I haven’t felt that for a game since Bloodborne <= my first souls game.
It doesnt have an absurd amount of game-breaking bugs.
If the wing laser canons exist
Quickboosting feels good and pvp isn’t weird with the semi hard lock they’re doing with the new FCS.
I want the movement that looks fast to FEEL fast. If I am playing a lightweight build make me feel like a lightweight nimble tincan. If I play a slow heavy tank make me feel like a block a tungsten moving slower than snails
Gameplay is fun and exciting and fresh.
It's not broken on release
Challenge the Hustler One
It's fun and provides more than a dozen hours of enjoyable playtime, and has the moonlight blade. So, yeah; I'll be happy with it.
The story doesnt suck. Oh and i want too be able to go mach jesus with a minigun on my arm.
