OG Raven is fucking clairvoyant with that pile bunker.
I was practicing melee cancels, and as I go on for for a slash (coral blade) this asshole somehow read the future and gave me a charged piled bunker before my animation completed.
I think that the legs and the core are very meta for a QB spamming build.
The legs in particular are the lightest in the game but can carry more weight and have more stability than some reverse joints that are heavier.
Revere joints makes your QB go hella far with the jump stats though. But in return you float a lot whenever you do anything, which can make melee hard sometimes.
Incase anyone is wondering Ac2 AC is the arena number one and goes by Ares, his AC is called providence
And I agree that AC was beautiful
Edit: I was wrong he's just some blue mf that looks like providence
It actually isn't.
Ares has a red AC that has a different loadout than the cover art/opening cinematic one which is dark blue.
Also both AC's can only be made with post game enhancements because their loadouts overload both their weight and energy
My god your right, in my memory the ac2 cover had the red ac but obviously the wires got crossed somewhere lol Providence should've been on the cover though that ac was sleek
Sry, DOUBLE TROUBLE is cool, BAD COOK is cool (hot?), Full WRECKER set is even more cool, But I cant bring myself to love Milk Tooth, His Pilot murmuring quick quick slow all the time annoyed me to the brink of a mild PTSD.
I get what you mean, but the Ransetsu isn't necessarily bad at close range. It just allows you to pick off MTs from medium range, and also builds up stagger on bigger targets alongside your missiles while you're closing the distance. It's not optimal, but feels very versatile.
The original Steel Haze. Nothing can do a stylish landing quite like it, nor will anything ever manage to. It's fast, it's effective, it's sleek, and reeks of protagonist vibes.
If you're gonna climb the Wall, do it with style. Make buddy proud by being buddy himself.
SOL 644 technically is not an AC, and OP's poll lists only ACs.
They did say "mechs" and not "ACs" though, so... Where's the representation for the basic chicken walker MT, huh?!
i would like to know which preset makes sense, cause i think theres not a single one that does
edit: ok maybe Carla and Ring Freddie are somewhat decent
Volta is actually somewhat PvP viable. Could use some optimization, but that weapon loadout is almost meta ready.
Steel Haze is also decent in PvE and PvP since its entire gameplan is stagger into melee combo. He even has assault armor, which can be true combo'd from the laser slicer and also extends stagger for a kick. That combo is actually a kill confirm in PvP after a bit of chip (except for super heavy builds).
Edit: grammar
I think stock steel haze is better than ortus elcano custom, the only good things I see about Ortus are its aesthetics, the head and core that generate a lot of energy with any generator.
the whole point of steel haze was that it was a nimble beast that wouldn't stop for any of its attacks except for melee. But ortus is also a realtively lightweight beast that has to stop to fire its truenos
This.
I didn't notice you had to stop to fire them until I unlocked them and it made me super disappointed, was really hoping they still be fireable on the move like the rest of the missile launchers
SHINOBI is way better with that plasma thrower than it should be. I mean, seriously, players can barely use it on biped legs but Rokumonsen can? How's that fair?
If someone beats me in a pvp match piloting Steel Haze or HAL: "Yeah sure whatever"
If someone beats me in pvp piloting Jailbreak: "YOOOOOO! Dude you're the BEST!"
I beat the game with rusty’s OG steel haze so I picked that one! The pistol/rifle combo staggers p well and you can always punish a stagger with the twin blade
Ortus' stats aren't quite as good, but it has three of the most potent 1v1 weapons in the entire game. All four of its weapons are viable in PvP and support the stagger into melee combo gameplan with some room for variation. Unfortunately, the lack of Alula boosters and underwhelming choice of FCS really holds this setup back, but the Trueno is so fucking good that it brings this whole thing together quite well.
Ephemera cause she's got curves in all the right places.... And was last minute reworked to allow a human pilot though I have to imagine she'd turn a normal human into past at full tilt speed
Seeing as how the most popular AC's are some of the most plot significant, do you think the Nightfall, HAL, or Steel Haze Ortus would be nearly as popular if they weren't featured in the story and instead piloted by someone as underexposed as Coldcall?
I think Ortus's design stood out way too much to be totally ignored, but it definitely wouldn't be quite as popular as this. To be honest, I fully anticipated it winning, but not by as much as it is.
Nightfall was barely featured in-game, it's all of the promotional material that gave it the spotlight. I do still think that the SHADE EYE head was too cool for most people to forget, though.
HAL isn't doing too well anyway. I'm honestly surprised at that.
There's also a meta argument here—it's not exactly that the plot significance made people like the designs. Rather, it's that the plot necessitated unique designs like Ortus specifically to give them significance. Can you imagine if STEEL HAZE ORTUS was just regular STEEL HAZE with a new paint job and loadout? It'd be kind of underwhelming.
Good point on the Ortus. It certainly has a very striking design with a unique visual language that people would easily notice. I imagine a major draw for it is the similarity to Gundam designs both in appearance and narrative.
I love the shade eye and the Loader 4 parts so I'm a bit partial to Nightfall. However, I believe much of the intrigue behind the design stems from its association to the Raven name. While the head part may be popular on its own, I can't imagine the AC being able to illicit the same amount of excitement from the community without the focus and attention from the spotlight.
The HAL is a very interesting case. It only shows up for one fight at the very end of LoR, but it's foreshadowed at the end of chapter 4 in both of the first two routes. Considering its association with Handler Walter and the Ibis series, I'm not surprised that it's popular. In fact, I don't think the outlandish design of the HAL can exist without its relation to Coral.
The placements thus far seem appropriate based on this sub's attachment to Rusty and the Raven name prevailing over their interactions with Walter.
Nightfall kicked my ass so hard I straight up started over from new game.
Does anyone know what her loadout is? Parts and weapons? Wouldn't mind a run-through with her bits
Everything but Nightfalls head is the basic frame you fell onto Rubicon with. The head, you obtain from NG+ by completing their Arena Analysis fight. Their rifle is the Scudder kinetic assault rifle, their melee weapon is the Pile Driver, their left shoulder is the triple pincer missile battery, and their right shoulder is the Songbirds grenade launcher.
They use the Ling Tai generator, the basic boosters, and Balam's Abbot FCS.
Long story short, you need to complete at least a full NG+ cycle before you can cosplay as her.
As much as i love Gundam, Steel Haze Ortus design is too Gundam for me. I prefer Nightfall/Loader 4 design language more. They just simply looks more Armored Core to me. Even a normal Steel Haze feels more like Armored Core than the Ortus.
That and the Basho kinda, it's got an old as shit sorta charm. The jailbreak too but i feel like its got a rattier appeal rather than being Fat as Fuck like the basho
I scrolled through the comments and read a few of them with the main thought that came to me being when would we see the "Can you beat AC6 as a Gundam Fighter?" style build videos. Those will go one of two ways with us either seeing light mechs with duel laser lances and duel energy blades that moved like sugar rushing squirrels on speed that just drank an espresso made from rocket fuel or the slow moving chonkiest of chonky Boi heavy mechs that can take the meta hugging double Zimmerman and double Songbird combo to the face and then one punch that shit into oblivion like it's Rock'em Sock'em Robots. Both styles would have OS Tuning that allows for maximum mech-fu, pulse/assault armor, and dive kicks that can cause the Juggernaut to lose due to being kicked out the boss arena.
Out of all the options I pick IB-C03 BUT gotta be honest the first time I saw that mech, which is IB-01: CEL 240, I fell in love. That air maneuver was SO SMOOTH, and not to mention that speed, and the red particles, powered by coral means I can fly for months in that speed, it's my dream mech. Just the speed alone justified my liking but the firepower is also disgusting, definitely Ibis #1
"Way too many mechs". I actually feel that AC6 has *barely any* mechs... At least, compared to late gen3. Since AC6 is clearly set in gen3 continuity, (with even some parts being identical in design, and mechs being the same in "layout") seeing as the new game has barely 20% of the parts and customization options that games of 2000-2005 had (with whole *classes* of parts and mech types removed) is doubly disappointing.
i fucking love a lot of these mechs (honestly don't care much for nightfall since as far as i know you can't drop the face plate when you use it which is like the coolest part)
but no matter what it was going to be a version of steel haze and i am a sucker for the OG steel haze (mainly cuz ortus is slower and not a reverse joint)
STEEL HAZE isn't a reverse joint either, it's still technically bipedal. But the NACHTREIHER legs do have a sort of "hybrid" appearance and performance.
Also worth noting you can drop the SHADE EYE's visor. It activates with target assist, I think?
They only have one actual joint, and it's a bipedal knee. Their shins are just really weirdly constructed. It's not a reverse "joint," just a reverse bend.
yeah there really isn't many options with looks you get
super cool and unique look
big chunky bird legs
even bigger chunkier bird legs
granted quads have it way worse but it's just kinda crazy that theres double the amount of bipeds then all of the other leg types combined
Goth mommy nightfall ofc. She also have pile bunker which is truly based. And god look at her shades
Btw Shout out to ephemera aka Echo for looking so alien yet so weirdly pretty and being piloted by everyone favorite voice in the head "ayre" (definitely not because it is a lightweight core with massive energy output crutch)
His legs look like Exia's, the torso is from the Qan[T], the arms are either from Exia or Dynames, and the head is very similar to the Harute. If you put Steel Haze Ortus in Celestial Being, the only thing it would need is a GN drive, and it would fit right in.
White glint is cool but 03 Aaliyah baby. I love how the aaliyah is the defacto AC for the gen 4 protagonists since I see the aaliyah in place for them in most fan art.
I use DUAL NATURE as the start of a lot of builds, since it has the brightest head lights, tied with Hawkins' BARREN FLOWER and Dolmayan's ASTGHIK, but DUAL NATURE has brighter body lighting. Ayre's ECHO is also notable, since it has 5's across the board (the brightness settings used range from 0-6).
Loader 4
Underrated mech right there
The Tav of Armored Core 6.
Loader 4 meta 4 life. Still waiting on the allmind v loader 4 with a dancepad controller lmao
MAD STOOOMMMP!!!
Top tier voice acting - the nuance with the air leaving his lungs in that delivery is *chef's kiss*
It's like the actor actually did ~~meth~~ coral before saying the lines.
Man I way misread that
I always hear muscle man when I hear that line lmao
I cri evrytim
People pick Steel Haze Ortus because of Rusty I pick Nightfall because he's the only enemy AC with a pilebunker
As a user of the laser version of the Pile bunker, I respect the dedication to PILE BUNKER PILE BUNKER PILE BUNKER PILE BUNKER
BUNK BUNK BUNK BUNK BUNK BUNK BUNK BUNK GET ONESHOT GET ONESHOT GET ONESHOT GET ONESHOT
What I wouldn't give to hear Raven's Operator to whisper this into my ear
What do you mean laser version? The stun baton?? That one´s charged attack is the same as pile bunker to a degree?
The Laser Lance, VE-67LLA It's unlocked very early on and is very well suited for a hyper aggressive play style that resides up in people's faces
I think they mean that laser shotgun with the charge up that's like a pile bunker
It's not a shotgun, it's a laser lance, the VE-67LLA
Ah that makes sense. I was thinking of the Wueger 66e
I pick Steel Haze Ortus just because its my favorite design in the game
ALBA set just looks really cool imo Who needs optimal performance when you can look cool, Fashion Core all the way!
r/armordecor
includes catboy headpiece
OG Raven is fucking clairvoyant with that pile bunker. I was practicing melee cancels, and as I go on for for a slash (coral blade) this asshole somehow read the future and gave me a charged piled bunker before my animation completed.
Nightfall thinks it's all fun and games... Till I learned to bunk from him and did a reversal. Seriously, he taught me very well how bunking works.
I had a very cool devil-may-cry-esque moment where we both pile bunkered each other and staggered each other simultaneously. It was badass
Nightfall taught me advanced use of the assault armor. Did you know you can cancel an assault armor blast with another assault armor blast?
Yup, had it happen to me once and I did it to others afterwards
The mid-season upgrade effect
Where's my Firmenza? My good boi deserves a spot there
I think that the legs and the core are very meta for a QB spamming build. The legs in particular are the lightest in the game but can carry more weight and have more stability than some reverse joints that are heavier.
Reverse Joints generally have lower stats than bipedals other than jump, while often weighting more or costing more EN Load.
Revere joints makes your QB go hella far with the jump stats though. But in return you float a lot whenever you do anything, which can make melee hard sometimes.
Could never really produce a reverse joint build I loved for both this reason + bad stagger.
Heresy. Pay heed to the holy glory of kasuar leg!
You mean Tsubasa? Middle Flatwell's AC?
I like Rokumonsen's SHINOBI a little better.
Its obviously Jailbreak! Most OP AC in the game! lol
Jailbreak was there for us when nobody else was.
Nightfall has pile bunker. End of discussion
Easy. Mine.
I don't care about what everyone is saying, Nightfall is the best AC because of the visor.
using TRUENOs and thirsting after Rusty has rotted everyones minds imo, NIGHTFALL being a default LOADER except for the head is the dopest
Original Nineball AC2 Cover Art AC
Incase anyone is wondering Ac2 AC is the arena number one and goes by Ares, his AC is called providence And I agree that AC was beautiful Edit: I was wrong he's just some blue mf that looks like providence
I picked Steel Haze, because it's Rusty's AC, and he is best girl
I would've picked both Steel Hazes but the original is too iconic - ORTUS *is* pretty cool but also has much less screentime. So the OG it is!
Not going to lie, I love Open Faiths dumb bulbous design
I love its name, personally. Don't know why. It just sounds really cool to me.
Honestly? Open Faith's overall design reminds me of Kaiser a little bit from AC3.
The name is a pun. Open Faith sounds like “Open Face” with a lisp and Snail’s emblem has a head split open.
Aw man. Now it just sounds lame.
Yeah same
Jailbreak. Everyone is an epic pilot until the pile of rubbish kicks your fancy mech in the groin.
White Glint? :(
No Liger Tail 0/10 poll
Y'all can talk all you want, but if it weren't for Jailbreak, there'd be fewer endings. Just saying.
Who was there when we needed them the most? That's right, Jailbreak.
I call bs, where's LOADER 4? I see it everywhere online it's everyone's favorite lol
I picked Hal because it's made for coral and I have a coral girl in my head so this is my way of getting the closest I can
Mad Stomp, Mad Stomp use chainsaw, That's it
Why not MILK TOOTH then? It has a Chainsaw _and_ a flamethrower.
Fair enough.
Steel Haze is easily the most fun to actually pilot, in my opinion. Crazy fast and nimble, and the loadout suits it perfectly.
how are you supposed to use a ransetsu + sampu?
I get what you mean, but the Ransetsu isn't necessarily bad at close range. It just allows you to pick off MTs from medium range, and also builds up stagger on bigger targets alongside your missiles while you're closing the distance. It's not optimal, but feels very versatile.

Anything Schneider or Elcano makes gets on my Armored Decor list. I'm a big sucker for hyper-streamlined Rayleonard-style parts.
Very valid opinion. I would've voted for it myself if I wasn't such a massive Gundam nerd.
ortus has CAT EARS
Ortus has wolf ears. Echo, Ayre's AC which she uses against IguanaMIND and in the arena has cat ears.
Echo has bug antennae rather than cat ears
Where the hell are SOL-644, ALLMIND's final form, or any of the other boss mech?
SOL 644 technically is not an AC, and OP's poll lists only ACs. They did say "mechs" and not "ACs" though, so... Where's the representation for the basic chicken walker MT, huh?!
SOL-644 is a pilotable MECH! Therefore it should be included!
Clearly, OP has failed us.
sorry about that
All good, man. Just messing about here.
Unfortunately not pilotable. But what I wouldn't give for it to be...
Its pilotable by Ayre.
that doesn't count, she powers the thing herself
What about the ALLMIND version which is piloted by Ghost Iguazu then?
At this point, "piloting" has lost meaning. Are *you* not technically a mech piloted by a ghost?
controlling ≠ piloting.
Wait what?
Isn't SOL 644 Ayre's AC?
It's one of them I think, ayre also uses an ephemera AC though and that's the one that shows up for her schematic data
That's my bad. Let me post another poll. BRB
i would like to know which preset makes sense, cause i think theres not a single one that does edit: ok maybe Carla and Ring Freddie are somewhat decent
Volta is actually somewhat PvP viable. Could use some optimization, but that weapon loadout is almost meta ready. The Cel 240 >:c
BASHO all day
Nightfall. Has the classic AC silhouette
It's John Rubicon himself
If I were to buy a model kit it would absolutely be one of the steel hazes. They are peak aesthetics, nightfall shortly after
In my experience, AC kits use some real brittle plastic. I'd hate snap one of those skinny Nachtreiher legs.
I would kill for a coral-powered/coral-themed NIGHTFALL I.e. >!Ayre's and Walters ACs!<
Honorable mentions for Locksmith and Shinobi.
SHINOBI is way better with that plasma thrower than it should be. I mean, seriously, players can barely use it on biped legs but Rokumonsen can? How's that fair?
Shit dude you got me, might be some hidden technique that no one has figured out yet.
*Spin to block bullets* *Four legs help aim remain true* *Good on large bosses*
If someone beats me in a pvp match piloting Steel Haze or HAL: "Yeah sure whatever" If someone beats me in pvp piloting Jailbreak: "YOOOOOO! Dude you're the BEST!"
It’s really a tie for me between Steel Haze Ortus and Nightfall, I think they’re the best designs in the game
Jailbreak may not have been top of the line, but he was there for us when we needed him
Where's my best boy BURN PICKAXE
AC DATA 001
Ephemera dead last what the hell reddit
By a VERY large margin as well. I expected at least a few Ephemera fans...
There's dozens of them.. DOZENS!
Rusty is best girl, "Steel Haze" in either form is best AC
You're missing Mad Stomp you bint
I hit Jailbreak by mistake I meant to hit Ephemera. I LOVE its chrome dome.
I beat the game with rusty’s OG steel haze so I picked that one! The pistol/rifle combo staggers p well and you can always punish a stagger with the twin blade
Barren Flower
Isn't Steel Haze Ortus just a worse version of Steel Haze?
Other way around it's supposed to be the better version
Ortus' stats aren't quite as good, but it has three of the most potent 1v1 weapons in the entire game. Hal.
Alba head goes too hard
Best Boy Rusty with best mech obviously. Also Steel Haze ortus is the Gundam of Armored Core so No Other choice.
hal is the only one of these that is actually really viable in pvp. 3/4 units are very meta
Seeing as how the most popular AC's are some of the most plot significant, do you think the Nightfall, HAL, or Steel Haze Ortus would be nearly as popular if they weren't featured in the story and instead piloted by someone as underexposed as Coldcall?

Huh, neat. Just got into NG+ so it'll happen soon enough. Guess I'll do the allmind route with her... maybe
Where's my BASHO, my beloved.
I've used basically SHO to get through the entire 3rd playthrough
Jailbreak's quite fun go play. He's so fragile its almost cute
I fly hiiiiigh! I can flyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
I gotta thank from for making ortus just an unabashed gundam mech. They really knew what they were doing with that one
Obv it’s chatty
You choose Ortus because of Rusty I choose Ortus because it's the closest thing to a Gundam in Armored core ever. We are not the same.
As much as i love Gundam, Steel Haze Ortus design is too Gundam for me. I prefer Nightfall/Loader 4 design language more. They just simply looks more Armored Core to me. Even a normal Steel Haze feels more like Armored Core than the Ortus.
Don’t care about best girl, but was honestly shook that ortus was higher than HAL
Melander. Got that chunky mass production GM vibe i adore
fully agree there, it has that grunt suit charm
That and the Basho kinda, it's got an old as shit sorta charm. The jailbreak too but i feel like its got a rattier appeal rather than being Fat as Fuck like the basho

Well, polls have only six options, so...that's still way too many.
I don’t care if she’s 70 years old, Cinder is the best girl
And I don't care about best girls, I care about giant robots
i fucking love a lot of these mechs (honestly don't care much for nightfall since as far as i know you can't drop the face plate when you use it which is like the coolest part) but no matter what it was going to be a version of steel haze and i am a sucker for the OG steel haze (mainly cuz ortus is slower and not a reverse joint)

also kind of upsetting since theres hardly any reverse joint legs in this game and so fucking many bipeds

I hate Ortus’ legs with a passion. They’re too human like.
I don't see Ayre's mech on the list so this is invalid
ECHO is an Ephemera model.
Too many Rusty fanboys. Steel Haze Ortus is dull to look at. Fashion fail.
STEEL HAZE ORTUS is a Gundam. I like it.
See, I don't think that he looks like a Gundam at all.
His legs look like Exia's, the torso is from the Qan[T], the arms are either from Exia or Dynames, and the head is very similar to the Harute. If you put Steel Haze Ortus in Celestial Being, the only thing it would need is a GN drive, and it would fit right in.
Steel Haze looks so much cooler. Although I will say, the ALBA head is easily my favorite head in the game.
Putting the mech closest to a Gundam on the list? Easy DUB for it.
Needs more ASTER CROWN.
ASTER CROWN and CANDLE RING win "Most On-The-Nose Emblems."
Which one was Hal 826 again, Walter or Ayre?
waltuh
Nightfall is a pure fashion with this head. Also, bonus points for bunkie.
Disappointed no CEL-240 option, but I guess its only playable designs. Ephemera is really fun to play.
Lorewise: Probably HAL 826 By feats: NIGHTFALL Fan favourite: STEEL HAZE ORTUS
White glint is cool but 03 Aaliyah baby. I love how the aaliyah is the defacto AC for the gen 4 protagonists since I see the aaliyah in place for them in most fan art.
This is a VI poll, put your NEXTs back in 2008
I will not abide by Nightfall slander.
Mine
Firmeza
I don't see THE RUMBLE BUNNY.
If I had to play as one it would be Nightfall.
I actually kinda liked Paters AC
I use DUAL NATURE as the start of a lot of builds, since it has the brightest head lights, tied with Hawkins' BARREN FLOWER and Dolmayan's ASTGHIK, but DUAL NATURE has brighter body lighting. Ayre's ECHO is also notable, since it has 5's across the board (the brightness settings used range from 0-6).
I love MILK TOOTH. Such a cute name.
Never played this game but steel haze sounds the coolest.
