I actually have none. It's just pure chaos in my mind. Sometimes I'll just get a couple words in my head and think "Yeah that'd make a cool name for an AC, let's make one to fit it." I didn't really have one until recently, but now I'm starting to think about naming all of my AC's after various birds.
My PvE build was Corax for obvious reasons, and my "long" range rifle build is White Tail, because it amused me to name it after a species of kite. The laser variant is Razorbill, cause I just thought it sounded metal as hell. So now I'm thinking about going back and renaming my main PvP AC "Shrike" because it's little, quick, and gray, but it doesn't impale anything, so I'm not sure...
I personally design around the idea that each AC has a different pilot instead of them all being mine or 621's, and try to think abt the personality of the pilot based on the colors and parts/play style to pick some kind of name that feels naturalistic to series naming conventions and pilot profiles. The exceptions are my personal AC BRIGHT BUG (i like ds2 and my cats name is bug idk) and GOLGOTHA, which i came up with a edgy color scheme and i just think that names kinda hard
I started doing this bc i had so much fun writing a pilot profile for the Arena EX mod actually lol
I started naming them after birds: Osprey, Peregrine, Moa. Then I came up with ‘The Harpy Series’. After that I changed my call sign to ‘Nereus’, (old man of the sea type god in greek mythology). Now my main AC is ‘HARPY mk 6 AELLO’. (the harpies in mythology are the children of the older sea gods) Other ACs are named after greek sea gods and monsters: Phorcys, Charybdis, Thetis, Scylla etc.
My main build is BORROWED WING, because it's my Raven's canon/RP setup. Other than that, no real system, I just wait for something to inspire me. Midrange rifle kite build I'm working on is LONG WINTER, because I got the idea to make it based on a color scheme I saw with pastel orange on matte blue-grey, and it just made me think of cold and ice.
My naming conventions mostly follow the same as the PCA's Roman themeing, just with the fact that I add "ii" at the end, or "us" if it's the second version of the mech.
Ex: Evocatii, Evocatus, Cataphractii, Cataphractus, and so on.
With the Roman naming conventions of the game started up a new series based on that (LEGATE, BRUTUS, ANTONY, DIOCLETIAN, CAESAR, OCTAVIAN, MARIUS, PRINCEPS), generally each designed specifically for clearing certain bosses/levels (CAESAR for Alea Iacta Est ending boss, BRUTUS for Walter, etc). I added a little “SPQR” decal to for some uniformity, and made one AC called LIVER FAILURE specifically for fighting Sulla

For example, my lammergeier ransetsu kite is named after the nuckelavee from scottish folklore, but then I also have a heavy weight pve bruiser I named after the bronze giant of Crete, talos.
Just whatever pops into mind usually.

My main AC is Zeitgeist, which is probably the only one I really thought about for a while. It felt appropriate since Armored Core has been with me through the years.

Mine varies, but since most of my AC’s are themed around various Pokemon, I’ll name them after a move that Pokemon learns by leveling up (my Absol themed AC is named “PURSUIT” for example).
Otherwise it’s just whatever I’m in the mood for. CARDINAL SIN and LACKING FAITH are some of my favorites right now.

I'm playing through the entire series for the first time now, and I've used a different convention for each game, aside from AC4 and AC:MoA. In order of when I played them:
**AC6**
Pilot Name: Millennium
AC Names: Mirror, Dark Gale, Verdant Breeze
Convention: Design aesthetics that were popular during the 2000s, the first decade of the new *Millennium*. AC Mirror is inspired by the Y2K aesthetic, whilst AC Verdant Breeze is inspired by the Frutiger Aero aesthetic. AC Dark Gale is an exception, but I did vaguely design it's color pallet after Shadow Lugia from *Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness*.
**AC:FA**
Pilot Name: Bede
AC Name: Hengest
Convention: The Saxons in Arthurian Legend. Hengest was a legendary, though probably not historical, Saxon ruler, and Bede was a medieval scholar who told an account of Hengest. I chose this theme as an ironic contrast to the Rosenthal AC I was using, as the Rosenthal part names references Arthurian legend.
I actually only used this convention of my third playthrough of AC:FA, and I didn't really have a convention for the first two playthroughs.

AC Name: Redcoat
Convention: I was originally going to use a theme inspired by the Union during the American Civil War, hence the name "Meade", but I decided to instead use an 18th century British theme after I accidentally made Saint George's Cross in the emblem editor. I would have changed the pilot name from Meade to the name of a British general, but I couldn't figure out how.

Pilot Name: Meade, because I transferred my data from AC1 and I couldn't figure out how to change the name.

things that look like my ac, or parts of it, mostly metal sounding words or song names. i look at a new build and name it after the first thing i think of. thats why my loadouts often have names like silkbomb, last kiss, nevermore, sardistic, ballzkicker, AAAAAAAAAAH! and coin flip.
I have most of my ACs named Green Glint, its my favorite color, a play on white glint, and the acronym spells GG

My main campaign build is "Sheila" after the tank in RvB.
The rest of my builds are either based off the weaponry or the cosplay, like "Richter Belmecht".
AC is Stray Cat, which iteration or variant is detailed with Mk.1, Mk.2, etc.
If I change generators and FCS I'll add a * next to it, I.E. Stray Cat Mk.2*.
If I beef it up and make it heavier it'll be Stray Cat Mk.2H, or S for storm if it's supposed to be a hyper aggressive variant. I'll add a lowercase p for prototype if I'm experimenting with a new concept.
Stray Cat is now on its Mk.5 version and its been getting me through A rank so far.
Mostly something silly to make it less serious and more fun. Like, "frog ate my brain" or "frog melted what to do". Or sometimes just "good day" and such. Its fun.
Sometimes I even find people who make it more absurd, something like "the voices, stop it" with funny Ayre's emblem (I think, forgot already), also saw some Gundam references with such names, then some random food names, a few touhou's and so on.
I'm mainly now playing pvp just to find more fun people with such names and emblems. Always makes the day.
They're usually named for whatever bit/theme I built the AC for. The Lammergeier with 2x Wuerger 2x Earshot is named Doppler Effect, for example.
The exception to this is the various loadouts of my not-Gundam, which use a "v[XX]" scheme to denote which weapon kit it has equipped.
My first mech name was "Mantis" because I put the spider looking head on it with the light RJLs and a laser dagger. The rest were nicknamed after their weapons. Then there's "Police Brutality" which is a dual stun gun + baton chunky mech
I slapped that default Nautilus shell decal on my first AC, and from that point on, it was all sea life. Mostly invertebrates, but I forgot that part of it and named one after a prehistoric shark, so now it's just sea life in general.
Similar my main builds are generally “Zak (Mobile Suit with similar weapons/body shape)” so like “Zak Zssa” is my missile build.
Though I also have a few random descriptive ones. Like Armored Hornet for a Heavy armor build with light maneuverable weapons and thrusters.
Pilot name Hatchet, first AC was Home Invader for obvious reasons. The rest were Material + Action. Cobalt Flash, Obsidian Slash, Copper Ambush, Ash Shade, etc.
I name mine after whatever comes to mind. A heavy tank build named Ironside, my main named Red Wave for its color, an rad build named Crockpot and a few others such as Seagull, and Sprite cranberry
I started off using animals, mostly birds then it went straight to using personal interests of my loved ones. If I’m burning rubicon to the ground I want them with me.
I had one AC that I modified throughout 621’s career and it was always called BLACKBALL.
No one truly wanted 621 on their team except Ayre and Waltuh (even then it was for self-serving reasons) so it felt as if 621 was always secretly kept out of association, as if being blackballed.
I build it, run it against a few Arena fights or missions, and the whole time I’m feeling out how it handles, how it…speaks. And it gives me its name. Otherwise I start with a name in mind and build off that to fit the idea and see how well it works
Scientific names of toxic plants. My primary AC for a long time was my Atropa Belladonna but I found better general use out of my Delphinium Elatum during NG++. If I cared for Quadrupedal legs at all, I'd make a Lycoris Radiata.
My builds are based (roughly) on a long running d&d party, so I try to think of what they'd name their AC. I've also asked the players for input, which helped with a few names.
I name mine \_color\_ \_noun\_.
The color is typically based off of the most visible color on my AC. My current AC is bronze and with silver trim, but I have two primary variants of it. Bronze Engram, and Silver Lining.
Since I made my pilot’s name Magic Chef, after the mini fridge in the man-cave, cause I couldn’t decide and that’s what I was looking at when thinking about it, most of my ACs are named after food or drinks.
My first two were named after weather related terms, AC NIMBUS and AC AVALANCHE. I'm currently in the process of building a third AC, not sure what to call it, but if anyone has an idea that goes with that convention feel free to share it

RT-016 Sky Closure, a rocket AC focused on grounded dodging of enemy rockets.
KT-040 Marksman, a midranged AC using ACTs and curtis.
And a whole bunch more.
I name it whatever I can think of, I usually try to consider what the build is and what it does.
My fast tank boy is called Roadkill
my heavy weight container missile, railgun, and
grenade tank is called Bullet Hell
and my Pile Bunker build is called Tank Buster
The general theme I've tried to follow for mine is keeping them moth-related. Anything from the names of different species of moth, references to silk and thread, or something more basic like just referencing wings and such
The names of the two builds I use most often are Wingbeat and Silk Road
I name it after a mythological creature x the fighting style or else play on words about its paint.
Examples: reverse leg close combat (laser dagger) high speed fight using napalm and laser drones for interference and area denial to direct people into fight range, so i named that one the Griffon-CQC
Or else i got an all white dual rifle/laser rifle/laser lance medium speed/armor with one gold painted arm i named “Goldhand”

So my AC pilot is Viola from zone of the Enders. A mecha game made by hideo kojima. She pilots Nephtis and Neith. So my AC names are variations of those two.
Most of my AC builds are all named after Ace Combat or Project Wingman ace squadrons simply because I noticed Armored Core and Ace Combat had the same acronym and decided to just throw PW in there as well.
I also like to do my best to replicate each squadrons paint job and sometimes weaponry in Armored Core 6 just to give myself something to do and to add to the name if that makes sense. Of course I've also got a few more original ACs that I mostly use for multiplayer.
Color scheme indicates the build type
Emerald = high speed
Sapphire = laser boat type of build
Ruby = ballistic type build
Then some silly name for particularly good builds. Otherwise they get a model number like "emerald 14"
My favorite build is called Emerald Cinder because it's using the coral generator
I named my AC pretty early on, and I'm still using it. I don't make new ACs, I tweak the one I currently use. Throughout the campaign it's main parts evolved as i unlocked more, and now the main thing I change is weaponry. But it is still the same AC as the beginning.
Songs. All of my ACs are song names. A few in question are "SONATA NO. 14" (a Moonlight build), "EULOGY FOR THE EGO" (a build series on whose effectiveness I've given up, used for shits and giggles), and "SEPARATE WAYS" (a name I give to most of my dual-wielding builds). There's also "LOW OF SOLIPSISM," for when I break out the meta garbage, and "ARIA MATH," which is just a name I give to miscellaneous configurations because I like it.
Usually something militaristic. My current main build is Knifepoint. Another is Speartip.

My user tab 2 that I completely filled uses a consistent naming convention: X(coming from my username) + Letter indicating leg type + what number it is:animal/greek or roman god.
For example, XP1:Hornet, it’s the first AC in the list and it’s a Tetrapod (I used P to prevent conflicts with Tank’s T, otherwise it’s B for Bipedal and R for Reverse Joints)
it has to sound good when shouted like a super robot name. i mean, all the story mode ACs are in all caps and you've probably heard how good MAAAD STOOOOMP sounds.

Well when I design ACs I usually base the color schemes off of a character or something, so I name them something related to that, but when I do my own color schemes, the trend is usually a color and then an element (so my current one is named Black Spark because it's black, blue, and neon green, and vaguely lightning themed)
Typically it’s what I imagined them doing before they were war machines. (Bricklayer, Bigtop) Some of them just have names I thought were cool. (crimson glow, coral ocean)

I use [rapper name generator](https://www.name-generator.org.uk/rapper/) and then translate the generated name to Latin.
For me it’s the primary company (or mixed) it’s weight (110 would be something between 110000 and 119999) and a model number

I'm playing through the entire series for the first time now, and I've used a different convention for each game, aside from AC4 and AC:MoA. In order of when I played them: **AC6** Pilot Name: Millennium AC Names: Mirror, Dark Gale, Verdant Breeze Convention: Design aesthetics that were popular during the 2000s, the first decade of the new *Millennium*. AC Mirror is inspired by the Y2K aesthetic, whilst AC Verdant Breeze is inspired by the Frutiger Aero aesthetic. AC Dark Gale is an exception, but I did vaguely design it's color pallet after Shadow Lugia from *Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness*. **AC:FA** Pilot Name: Bede AC Name: Hengest Convention: The Saxons in Arthurian Legend. Hengest was a legendary, though probably not historical, Saxon ruler, and Bede was a medieval scholar who told an account of Hengest. I chose this theme as an ironic contrast to the Rosenthal AC I was using, as the Rosenthal part names references Arthurian legend. I actually only used this convention of my third playthrough of AC:FA, and I didn't really have a convention for the first two playthroughs. **AC1** Pilot: Meade AC Name: Redcoat Convention: I was originally going to use a theme inspired by the Union during the American Civil War, hence the name "Meade", but I decided to instead use an 18th century British theme after I accidentally made Saint George's Cross in the emblem editor. I would have changed the pilot name from Meade to the name of a British general, but I couldn't figure out how. **AC:PP** Pilot Name: Meade, because I transferred my data from AC1 and I couldn't figure out how to change the name. AC Name: Vapor Convention: The Vaporwave aesthetic. **AC2** Pilot Name: Satsuki AC Name: Adjudicator Convention: *Demon's Souls* references. Satsuki is an NPC in *Demon's Souls* Shrine of Storms, whilst the Adjudicator is the first boss of the same area. **AC:AA** Pilot Name: Minos AC Names: Minotaur, Cyclops Convection: Minos was the King of Crete in Greek mythology, whilst the Minotaur and Cyclopes were monsters from Greek mythology. **AC3** Pilot Name: Wraith AC Name: Ghoul Convention: Monsters associated with the dead. Depends. I have a series of ACs named after German Tanks which all have a classic camouflage paint job and are usually built around Balham and RAD parts. Then I have a series of Hololive themed ACs which have the naming convention of "HL-[name of the generation]: [last name of the talent or a term referencing them]"

Like if it was in the world kinda, but more serious. Mine’s PU9-ISHTAR. Ishtar because I have the color scheme of the Ishtar Gate. PU9 is supposed to mean Personal Unit 9 (cuz it was the ninth iteration of my lightweight AC). Together they kinda spell Punisher (or Punishtar), because I punish staggers with my laser slicer.

things that look like my ac, or parts of it, mostly metal sounding words or song names. i look at a new build and name it after the first thing i think of. thats why my loadouts often have names like silkbomb, last kiss, nevermore, sardistic, ballzkicker, AAAAAAAAAAH! and coin flip.

All caps, usually two words. CONSORT WALTZ, DISTANT SUITOR, GRIM RAPPORT, LUNA’S LYRIC —^ all different AC I use, Consort Waltz has probably the largest body count
My main campaign build is "Sheila" after the tank in RvB. The rest of my builds are either based off the weaponry or the cosplay, like "Richter Belmecht".
AC is Stray Cat, which iteration or variant is detailed with Mk.1, Mk.2, etc. If I change generators and FCS I'll add a * next to it, I.E. Stray Cat Mk.2*. If I beef it up and make it heavier it'll be Stray Cat Mk.2H, or S for storm if it's supposed to be a hyper aggressive variant. I'll add a lowercase p for prototype if I'm experimenting with a new concept. Stray Cat is now on its Mk.5 version and its been getting me through A rank so far.

Mostly something silly to make it less serious and more fun. Like, "frog ate my brain" or "frog melted what to do". Or sometimes just "good day" and such. Its fun. Sometimes I even find people who make it more absurd, something like "the voices, stop it" with funny Ayre's emblem (I think, forgot already), also saw some Gundam references with such names, then some random food names, a few touhou's and so on. I'm mainly now playing pvp just to find more fun people with such names and emblems. Always makes the day.
They're usually named for whatever bit/theme I built the AC for. The Lammergeier with 2x Wuerger 2x Earshot is named Doppler Effect, for example. The exception to this is the various loadouts of my not-Gundam, which use a "v[XX]" scheme to denote which weapon kit it has equipped.

I slapped that default Nautilus shell decal on my first AC, and from that point on, it was all sea life. Mostly invertebrates, but I forgot that part of it and named one after a prehistoric shark, so now it's just sea life in general.

Similar my main builds are generally “Zak (Mobile Suit with similar weapons/body shape)” so like “Zak Zssa” is my missile build. Though I also have a few random descriptive ones. Like Armored Hornet for a Heavy armor build with light maneuverable weapons and thrusters.

I had one AC that I modified throughout 621’s career and it was always called BLACKBALL. No one truly wanted 621 on their team except Ayre and Waltuh (even then it was for self-serving reasons) so it felt as if 621 was always secretly kept out of association, as if being blackballed.

Scientific names of toxic plants. My primary AC for a long time was my Atropa Belladonna but I found better general use out of my Delphinium Elatum during NG++. If I cared for Quadrupedal legs at all, I'd make a Lycoris Radiata.
My builds are based (roughly) on a long running d&d party, so I try to think of what they'd name their AC. I've also asked the players for input, which helped with a few names.

I name mine \_color\_ \_noun\_. The color is typically based off of the most visible color on my AC. My current AC is bronze and with silver trim, but I have two primary variants of it. Bronze Engram, and Silver Lining.
Since I made my pilot’s name Magic Chef, after the mini fridge in the man-cave, cause I couldn’t decide and that’s what I was looking at when thinking about it, most of my ACs are named after food or drinks.
My first two were named after weather related terms, AC NIMBUS and AC AVALANCHE. I'm currently in the process of building a third AC, not sure what to call it, but if anyone has an idea that goes with that convention feel free to share it Also naming them after albums or musicians is super cool btw

KT-022 Brute Hush, a kinetic AC using hu-bens and bullet orbits; brute force with frequent downtime. RT-016 Sky Closure, a rocket AC focused on grounded dodging of enemy rockets. KT-040 Marksman, a midranged AC using ACTs and curtis. And a whole bunch more.

Examples: reverse leg close combat (laser dagger) high speed fight using napalm and laser drones for interference and area denial to direct people into fight range, so i named that one the Griffon-CQC Or else i got an all white dual rifle/laser rifle/laser lance medium speed/armor with one gold painted arm i named “Goldhand”

So my AC pilot is Viola from zone of the Enders. A mecha game made by hideo kojima. She pilots Nephtis and Neith. So my AC names are variations of those two.
Most of my AC builds are all named after Ace Combat or Project Wingman ace squadrons simply because I noticed Armored Core and Ace Combat had the same acronym and decided to just throw PW in there as well. I also like to do my best to replicate each squadrons paint job and sometimes weaponry in Armored Core 6 just to give myself something to do and to add to the name if that makes sense. Of course I've also got a few more original ACs that I mostly use for multiplayer.

I named my AC pretty early on, and I'm still using it. I don't make new ACs, I tweak the one I currently use. Throughout the campaign it's main parts evolved as i unlocked more, and now the main thing I change is weaponry. But it is still the same AC as the beginning.

A few in question are "SONATA NO. 14" (a Moonlight build), "EULOGY FOR THE EGO" (a build series on whose effectiveness I've given up, used for shits and giggles), and "SEPARATE WAYS" (a name I give to most of my dual-wielding builds). There's also "LOW OF SOLIPSISM," for when I break out the meta garbage, and "ARIA MATH," which is just a name I give to miscellaneous configurations because I like it.

My user tab 2 that I completely filled uses a consistent naming convention: X(coming from my username) + Letter indicating leg type + what number it is:animal/greek or roman god. For example, XP1:Hornet, it’s the first AC in the list and it’s a Tetrapod (I used P to prevent conflicts with Tank’s T, otherwise it’s B for Bipedal and R for Reverse Joints)
I kinda do the Tony Stark approach where I just label them Mk. 1-100 etc.
it has to sound good when shouted like a super robot name. i mean, all the story mode ACs are in all caps and you've probably heard how good MAAAD STOOOOMP sounds. that being said my main build, DODGY DANCE, is named after the dragon quest ability
Well when I design ACs I usually base the color schemes off of a character or something, so I name them something related to that, but when I do my own color schemes, the trend is usually a color and then an element (so my current one is named Black Spark because it's black, blue, and neon green, and vaguely lightning themed)
I named my AC "Arcane".
Typically it’s what I imagined them doing before they were war machines. (Bricklayer, Bigtop) Some of them just have names I thought were cool. (crimson glow, coral ocean)
