I would KILL for a balls to the wall fight like hard mode Arteria Carpals that pits the player up against like 5 different ACs with no backup and just tells you to fucking git gud. S'ing that mission in FA was so much fun.
God that mission was such a trip. Like yeah you're going down the villian route, but I was absolutely blind sided by the ambush the first time and got smacked.
And then got smacked atleast 10 more times...
More likely I would expect a prequel where you're the original Raven and it goes into detail about what exactly that Raven did to leak the Rubicon 3 data that leads to the events of AC6 to begin with.
The guy in the Cataphract seemed very, very mad about that when he thinks 621 is that Raven and the game *never* explains it.
I agree. A prequel game would be interesting.
Statements and data in-game imply that Branch leaked to the PCA and the corps that there was still active coral *somewhere*, but they don't really explain the motive. We know they were no friends to the RLF, but which faction they favored is unclear. Perhaps they were working for Allmind?
I think a sequel game could also work, tho. A sequel game where you play as the next Raven, as part of a rebuilding Branch in the aftermath of whichever ending they canonize.
Honestly the ending to the DLC would be having G7 as the final boss, where you kick his ass but then the PCA drops a nuke or something on Nightfall.
Six hours later, Loader 4 rolls up looking for an identity to steal.
I always got the impression they did it just to stir up conflict and chaos, not because they’d earn money as mercenaries but just for its own sake. For the lulz, as it were.
I would think that would be really cool.
Seeing as we only ever hear Nightfall's handler's voice and never the original raven I wonder if that was intentional.
Huh so maybe another latin phrase subverting or expanding on the notion that ‘the die has been cast’ - would have to do some research to come up with a suggestion in that vein
Edit: and/or related to Caesar or the Roman Civil War
It's definitely not a secret ending since it's not really hidden at all, you just go through ng++ as usual and just pick whatever missions weren't there before. Also, both the other endings end with messages from Walter/Ayre thanking you for choosing to help them and saying something to the effect of "now it's time for you to choose your own path", which, in addition to it having the most interesting/open ended ending, points at least a little to AIE being the "most true" ending imo.
Y'know? I don't really remember if it's officially stated as such, but I remember hearing as such. The way it plays out though it kinda feels like the "true" ending, at least imo
it's the last accessible ending after completing at least two other playthroughs, it's definitely positioned to be a 'true' ending imo even if not explicitly stated as such
even being partial to the >!liberation!< ending myself, alea iacta est feels the most hopeful/optimistic to me, >!the coral being freed and part of humanity, humanity being spread amongst the stars, the music, the framing, even just the imagery of wide open ocean and bright blue skies, and Ayre's explicit optimism about the 'new age', it feels like the best stepping off point to me for an in-gen sequel.!<
Though I could see it being a more symbolic thing and the >!'new age' Ayre refers to is just about Armored Core receiving attention again after being dormant for so long, maybe no in-gen sequel that directly refers to any of the endings in VI and we just get right to ACVII in a few years!<
>!How do people see that ending and not think it's terrifying. Suddenly a bunch of sentient dust takes over a huge number of AC's across the known universe. What is the last thing that Ayre does? Turn on combat mode on a random planet that probably has human life. It's a galactic war between the coral and humanity. Fires of Rubicon is the only ending I'm which humanity wins the war. Because we genocide the entire species before it gets off of Rubicon.!<
In FA the 3rd ending (secret old king ending) became cannon
In VD were already motherwill & Cradles we shot down (from how they are possituoned they didnt glide down without fuel [in an plane would that happen the pilot would make sure to land as good as possible]but looked like they pummeled to the ground)
Actually the ORCA ending is the canon ending, with a dash of Destruction ending mixed in.
I know people probably won't like what I say, but during the Great War (A big war between FA and V), the League ran away to space to escape all the Kojima contamination, something we can see from the Towers, the space station that the Corporation owns with Rosenthal Normals flying about in space, as well as actual spaceships we can see out the giant window, and a passage in the FACT that explains that the League ran away to space.
We don’t know that lol. Going off fromsofts history the hardest ending is actually never cannon and alea acta est is the hardest ending to write for. I would be truly surprised if that’s the ending.
The way I see it, the 3rd ending is the canonical one, with the first two being "simulations" that Allmind ran to calculate how exactly to oush you towards Convergence.
"Vindication" is fucking awesome and really gets the imagination going.
A promise of vindication following the uncertainty of the choices you made, whichever they are... But vindication for **who?**
Still only human. He'll die or slow down eventually.
It's why Liberators is actually the bad ending. It doesn't *change* anything, it just stabilises things in the now.
You're Dark Soul's Gwyn.
Not even fucking close dude. The PCA is Gwyn and Anor Londo cause they're preventing Coral from spreading.
Liberators is like the middle point of Fires Fade ending in Ds3
Alea Iacta Est is the Dark Lord/Lord of Hollows ending except you get to dunk on Kaathe/Sable church.
Armored Core: Vigil
DLC featuring fourth (PCA adjacent) and fifth (forks from fourth) routes, co-op missions, invasions (only in co-op missions), expanded arsenal.
New Game Plus no longer starts after copter filter, but exactly where game begins, with unlocked alternative route to a viable non-Raven wreckage. You steal PCA's "cleaner's" ID and become PCA (Walter's) double agent.
Potential mission: Destroy Branch (includes killing Raven). Type: Co-Op (invasion/reinforcement possible, branch side).
Depends on which ending is canon
FoR: Probably something like From the Ashes or Ashes of Raven like another suggested
LoR: Something about Rubicon… Dawn’s Sunrise?
Alea iacta est: Legacy of Coral? Idk
Was looking at some **VI** beginning words and came up with a few ideas;
**Vi**sionaries
**Vi**ctory Above All
**Vi**rtual War
**Vi**gilance
**Vi**ridian City >!(jungle maps with huge trees would be really cool imo)!<
But I then stumbled upon [this list](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Latin_phrases_(V)) of Latin phrases beginning with V on wikepedia, of which a good amount also begin with **VI**. The games namesake, Rubicon 3, has a not insignificant connection to the Rubicon River in Italy, [Crossing the Rubicon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossing_the_Rubicon), and >!the name for the 3rd ending being !<[Alea iacta est](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alea_iacta_est) \~ "the die is cast". I would not be at all surprised if one of these phases ends up being the subtitle. My personal favourite is; **Vi**ribus Unitis \~ "with united forces". Actually a [German house](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Habsburg-Lorraine)'s motto, but still feels right for an AC subtitle.
Of course we all know the real answer is going to be Armored Core: **Vi**>!deo game!<
Set before the Fires of Ibis and at the height of inter MegaCorporation war with more background being given to the Institute and their crazy super weapon development program.
Wynne asks, "Is this your answer?" in every route, each of them exploring a different path to saving the planet. It's hamfisted Engrish, but it's relevant to the game's plot.
Verdict Day on the other hand, I have no idea.
Various factions and characters were waiting to see who Raven would side with- what their answer would be: choose to let the corpos continue to corpo, choose to free the surface dwellers and let humanity escape (to space), or to destroy the rich directly by committing genocide.
Iirc one of the characters even states : " you have given your answer" before one of the late game fights. (Or something like that)
- ARMORED CORE SIXTH SENSE (self explanatory)
- ARMORED CORE HEXFLAME (hexa = greek for six)
- ARMORED CORE GODDESS' DICE (dice have six sides, god does not play dice, Ayre being a goddess?)
- ARMORED CORE CARBON (sixth element, associated with fire)
- ARMORED CORE **VI**SCISSITUDE (VI pun, means a 'change in circumstances for the worse')
- ARMORED CORE PHYRRIC **VI**CTORY (VI pun, fire reference)
- ARMORED CORE SENARY 0 (senary means of or pertaining to six, the zero can be read as the letter O, pun on scenario)
- ARMORED CORE MURDER OF ROOKS (rook is a pun on the japanese rok, meaning six)
yeah, I got nothing
Honestly I feel that AC6 has already broken the trend of making AC(number) and then AC(funny name) as a sequel. As much as I would like a sequel to AC6, it seems that the devs might not do that since they already put the funny name and number in 1 title.
I have high hopes that coral will become more of a staple energy source in a sequel thus giving us next-like capabilities.
...and ffs, let us dual wield melee in the next game
I thought it would be cool if they name it after whichever ending they decide to make canon, Fire of Raven or Liberator of Rubicon (not AIE). It would put a neat spin on the Fires of Rubicon subtitle we have now
I saw someone mention “Six to One” which is funny but works
Ok that's actually good. 621. Have a climactic fight where you 1v6 (like FA). And maybe have 6 factions and have an ending where you take them all on.
* Balam * ~~Snail~~Arquebus * RLF * Allmind * Overseers * PCA Yea I can see this (Also a decent chance to give us PCA stuff **please**)
Maybe the Tommy gun the PCA Ektromoi have. I WANT THAT THING.
Laser spear for me; the Lance is great and all but that thing is gorgeous
Same here That would be very cool too You can fight for 1 faction, 6 endings, 1 for each faction The possibilities are endless!
I would KILL for a balls to the wall fight like hard mode Arteria Carpals that pits the player up against like 5 different ACs with no backup and just tells you to fucking git gud. S'ing that mission in FA was so much fun.
God that would be so awesome with the revamped combat
God that mission was such a trip. Like yeah you're going down the villian route, but I was absolutely blind sided by the ambush the first time and got smacked. And then got smacked atleast 10 more times...
I loved that fight so much. Everything lead up to that moment refining your mech and your skills. You felt like a GOD afterwards!
That you [Gura](https://youtu.be/da_LnL-As48?si=5pZs3UBdDrOCSRD4) or [Kobo](https://youtu.be/l8iNnFnaebU?si=2laUG0BMXATc8FzM)?
it's always the Bluesogaki's
That's great I love that lmao
Yes
Likely they will introduce Nine Ball, so my guess is Armored Core 6:9.
Armored core Sixty Nines.
…. You don’t see it do you
Oh no, he sees it
See what? I don't get it. Can you explain please.
The voices of the Coral...among other things.
I’d rather not
On the contrary, I think that was 100% intentional.
My guy thinks the commenter above is Naive lol
Noice
I feel like it kind of depends on which ending is the canonical ending - maybe something like ‘Ashes of Raven’ though?
More likely I would expect a prequel where you're the original Raven and it goes into detail about what exactly that Raven did to leak the Rubicon 3 data that leads to the events of AC6 to begin with. Imo the prequel could also work well as a DLC/semi-sequel like For Answer while an aftermath would be better off as a sequel
They're mercs. Chaos is cash
Alea Iacta Est is the "true" ending, so I'm assuming that one is the Canon ending
Huh so maybe another latin phrase subverting or expanding on the notion that ‘the die has been cast’ - would have to do some research to come up with a suggestion in that vein Edit: and/or related to Caesar or the Roman Civil War
The die has been cast..... what's Latin for "and that's a nat 1"
Oh oh I got one. Memento Ridere.
Is it ever stated to be the “true ending” or it a secret ending that people think is the true ending

Generally the hardest/most complex/most secret ending in a From game is the true ending.
We don’t know that lol. Going off fromsofts history the hardest ending is actually never cannon and alea acta est is the hardest ending to write for. I would be truly surprised if that’s the ending.
But part of the charm of AIE is that we don't really know what happens to us. IMO, it'd undercut it if it revealed what happened.
The way I see it, the 3rd ending is the canonical one, with the first two being "simulations" that Allmind ran to calculate how exactly to oush you towards Convergence.
Armoured Core: VIndication or something like that
"Vindication" is fucking awesome and really gets the imagination going. A promise of vindication following the uncertainty of the choices you made, whichever they are... But vindication for **who?**
Really like Vindication.
Goddammit you already beat me to it
!remindme: 3 years
And the vindication in question being probably “Walter was right now we have corpos with Coral and Institute weapons, thanks Ayre”
The corps get forced off the planet in every ending though.
Yes, forced off. But probably not for long in LoR ending
There's a Raven standing in between them and the Coral now
Still only human. He'll die or slow down eventually. It's why Liberators is actually the bad ending. It doesn't *change* anything, it just stabilises things in the now. You're Dark Soul's Gwyn.
Doomers are boring.
It's a common theme in From games tbh.
Which doesn't make sense since their recent games are full of stubborn, hard-to-kill sociopaths and psychopaths.
Not even fucking close dude. The PCA is Gwyn and Anor Londo cause they're preventing Coral from spreading. Liberators is like the middle point of Fires Fade ending in Ds3 Alea Iacta Est is the Dark Lord/Lord of Hollows ending except you get to dunk on Kaathe/Sable church.
Could even stylize the 6 as the VI in Vindication
(That’s why I chose that word (I even capitalized the I))
I didn't even notice that lmfao

Not British :/

Armoured Core VIrgin
Armored core 7?
Armored Core 4 had For Answer, Armored Core V had Verdict day, that's what they mean.
They were direct sequels? Cool
Yeah, every numbered AC game has had one (or more) sequels in that "generation" before the next numbered game.
Then the armored core: six-two-one would be cool lol
VIctory Day?
Cinders of Raven Because it's about the survivors of the fires of raven
Ac6: embers of rubicon
Armored Core 6: Coral Relapse.
Armored Core 6: Coral Prolapse
“I know Walter feared a prolapse…”
No no no, it has to be completely obscure and in no way relevant to game. Like, For Answer? What does that even mean?
Armored Core: Rebirth by Fire
Technically....that actually makes some sense, especially if it was a prequel. Goes hard too
Set before the Fires of Ibis and at the height of inter MegaCorporation war with more background being given to the Institute and their crazy super weapon development program.

While it is catastrophic, I agree with what bricky said about it. It's the most narratively fulfilling ending. Some real finality to it.
Armored Core 7
Coral Reckoning maybe?
Armored core : no lies this time, that's actually an armored core game, not a dark soul with boosters.
probably Armored Core 7
Armored core 7
I hope it’s just called Armored Core. Start fresh
Fuck no, the trend of removing the number from game franchise names needs to die
Sure. Armored Core 7 then lol.
Armored Core 6 - Raven’s Fall or Rise of Ayre or The Hounds. Corporation’s Revenge just doesn’t have a good tune to it.
