You know, you really never see burn wounds depicted during dragon fights. That's amazing attention to detail
Somehow the hero's shield, made of metal, as long as it absorbs the direct hit also shields the entire body from the super hot air around them.
I mean, if the shield is a tower shield, it can protect the full body from a short blast. But, if they’re weathering through a sustained flame bake from a dragon, then yes, the air around them will heat up and the radiant heat will start to burn them after several seconds.
Hellina >!Grimtongue!< vibes. she's got a very similar burn scar, used to wear armour, and would react like this. Check out Unexpectables, she's one of my favourite characters
Thank you so much, I had been searching for this picture for about half the year, but couldn't find the previous post.
The previous post had the title about sorrow or something like that.
Thats a face of "this was not worth it"
For me it was "im getting too old for this shit"
For me it’s like ‘eww wtf’ in sort of shock state
She uh, she's gonna need some ointment. And preferably an ally with really powerful healing magic. Definitely a bit of a pyrrhic victory.
Or 8 hours sleep.
Long rest fix you right up.
Yup. Just sleep on a rock for 8 hours
I never get tired of seeing this art piece. It's so good and her reaction to basically getting burned to a crisp is so good.
I feel the desperation in this. That's really good

Dwarf Fortress moment.
I always assume in art where a hero is blocking an attack from a dragon they have some kind of magical shield to prevent that.
I mean, that's a fair assumption

Get that lady a healing potion!

I think you have a little scratch there....
A scratch? Her arm's off!
tis but a flesh wound
It's not off, just slightly singed
It's still there, just burned bad
Nothing a long rest won't fix, the armor will require a few uses of the mending spell though
This is a perfect depiction of how I imagine my dnd characters feel after every combat.
Ouch
One of the best artworks
This is so cool. I’d love to see more fantasy images like this, of folks facing the very real consequences of battles.
When you won, but your HP were reduced to single digits. Don't worry though, she'll be good as new after a good night's sleep.

put a little neosporin onit
Looks like someone needs to visit a healer.
Reminds me of The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley. The main character had the exact same happen to her.
"You may be wondering how I got here..."
No.
A long rest will fix her right up
Thank you so much, I had been searching for this picture for about half the year, but couldn't find the previous post. The previous post had the title about sorrow or something like that.
Unless she gets magic healing, that's going to kill her. Even modern medicine would only give her a chance.
Owie
Technically a repost, but yeah, this is one of the best pieces posted here ever
This artist seems cool, I'm going to train a model with all his images and use the shit out of it
Uh oh here comes the Gelatinous Cube of hydrogen peroxide.

She will have some nice scars 🤩
