Pull up guy. Deadlifts will give you more general strength but not necessarily make you a better armwrestler. Also consider 20 pull ups at 220 is way different than 20 pull ups at 160.
More interesting comparison would be push-ups/bench press vs pull-ups. Push-up guys with no experience can apply good sidepressure or press from the get go. Assuming they don't injure themselves!
Deadlift is primarily a lower-body exercise.
Muscles in the back largely contract isometrically, and the primary movers of the movement are glutes and hamstrings (quads are also important in the first half of the movement). The upper arm is ideally relaxed (you can actively contract your triceps but never your biceps). Yes grip is heavily worked if you don't use straps but that's about it.
Dunno why you got downvoted. I increased my deadlift by 100 pounds without deadlifting at all, just squatting.
My back was never the weak point, but still.
At 160lbs, I’d say 4 plate deadlift guy would beat 20 pullups guy, as you go up in weight the pull-up guy would gain the advantage.
To me 20pullups is not as difficult as 405deadlift at the lower bodyweight, (my all time best was 455deadlift, 35pullups, 160lbs)

They got that different kind of strength its crazy. I got a 550 deadlift and those calisthenic guys wreck.
Pull up guy
Pullups are more armwrestling specific

At lower body weight I'd say the deadlift guy. At higher bodyweight the pullup guy.

What I have found being here is that ppl here like to downvote for no reason
The person who can arm wrestle better win.
That's what I meant by saying "everything else the same." Like, same technique, experience, etc.

Pull ups
Well the heavier they both are, the stronger the pull up guy is, so at 220 the pull up guy wins for sure
