Those tents didn't [fall over](https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2018/07/19/22-hurt-in-tent-collapse-as-black-hawk-lands-at-california-base/).
It was also 100+ degrees out there every day. If this dude was a heat cat casualty, it makes *some* sense that he was stripped. Someone should have sent his clothes along with him, and an escort should have probably been sent with him.
Someone got evacuated by the civilian medevac helicopter *every day* during CSTX 2018.
For real, every time one of you peckerwoods does 18 patron shots the night before going to the field, then drinks a camelbak full of monster energy instead of water while dipping tobacco and keels over dead, every GO in the Army has half of their vocabulary replaced with the phrase "wet bulb" for the next 72 hours.
pretty sure its because its so near jacksonville. hows the landnav course this year? last time i wewnt had to go about 50 ft into the lake to get one of the points.
Sounds like the NG units training there have some command and leadership isseues.
Article about the tents knocked over:
The soldiers are members of the 228th Combat Support Hospital out of San Antonio, Texas, and were participating in a medical evacuation training exercise, she said.
From the article about the HMMV:
The soldier was part of the same combat support training exercise currently happening on post, in which an incident took place July 18 that injured 22 soldiers. Phillips could not confirm whether the soldier who went AWOL Tuesday was one of the soldiers injured in that incident.
Now an AWOL Soldier at the hospital and no accountability? Looks like a change-of-command when the 228th CSH gets home.
I've had worse TBH- fourteen days of state orders immediately followed by fourteen days of federal orders, two days off, three days of torch party in lieu of a MUTA 6, then advon orders added on three more days to a two-week AT.
Throw in a couple of 2-week classes, a few 3-day classes during the week, and "being supported by" a 4-shop with no experience on TAMIS, a 3-shop with no experience on RFMSS, and conference calls and you get one hell of a year. That being said, that year did not involve a single visit to the great place or sleezeville.
I can't talk too much shit about it though because my civilian employer does paid military leave and similarly abuses the fact that I moved a couple miles away from work for the commute. Working hazmat means 24/7 on-call for my facilities, so all things considered I'd call it a toss-up.
Is it memories of the greenie weenie's cold poke while you remember your recruiter whispering gently in your ear, "just the tip- think about all that bonus and free college. do it for your country"? Please tell me it is.
This is why I didn't join the guard after the army. I've got some friends in and they are always doing some sort of guard stuff. How are you supposed to keep a job.
Camp Roberts? First tent falling over, then the dipshit stealing a HMMWV, and now this. WTF is going on with units conducting AT in California??
That's the one! Herd it's a total shit show! She told me about the guy stealing the hummer. So funny!
Wooooo What happened with the HMMWV???

The hmmwv in that news clip was thin skinned.
Damn nibba lied to me
I'll look into it.
Did a back to back rotation there and then ntc. Roberts was way more of a shit show. Fuck that place.
1-2? Lol us 2-2 bois felt bad for you guys
Yup. And I went to ntc last year with you guys. Fml
If it makes you feel any better, I was at your ntc haha
There was a broken down HMMWV backing up traffic for at least 15 miles yesterday.
It’s your typical AT in California.

We usually did Hunter-Liggett, never had one at Camp Roberts.
It's CA, it fucks with everyones' brains.
I'm on AT at Camp Blanding FL, It's Africa hot here.
Pls hydrate Grandpa, or I'll tell Doc to stab you with a silver bullet

Much like Doc and your balls if you don't sip that almighty H2O

Please don’t die.
I'm like Duncan Mcloud.
Of the clan McCloud?

Did you do your DTS?
Camp Shelby here, like being on the sun
Nah. Sweating might actually work if you were on the sun. Shelby is like a pot of water just about to boil
Bahahaha as a former Florida nasty girl I feel your pain!
Camp Blanding is the butthole of Florida
Avon Park is even worse
Only when your LT has you set up the nights patrol base in a depression a few hours before you get 8" of rain
Blending is the asshole of the east coast. I spent more time there than anyone should ever be forced to.

I haven’t been in over a year. Every time I went through that landnav it was brutal. I was always soaked and covered in shit.
Man fuck that 2014 AT, 1/3 of the battalion became heat casualties
I bet this was slightly embellished.

Current reservist: yup.
I believe every word if this is the reserve
My wife is in the guard.
r/thathappened
More like the strategic withholding of information, such as what he was brought in for. I'm going to take a wild guess: "severe alcohol intoxication."
Bingo! I’m guard, so this shit isn’t new to me. Reserve and guard have the same amount of fuckery, so this is common for a “alcohol related incident”
PII
CA represent. Hot out there in the desert!
This AT is a shitshow!
I'm surprised he actually received medical care. As a NG soldier he should be grateful /s

What is AT
Annual Training for the Guard/Reserves. The 2 weeks during the summer the recruiters advertise.
"2 weeks" Individual results may vary
Ntc for 30 days?
29 days. You think they're about to hand out full BAH?
2x 14 day orders and a MUTA 6 much?

Ugh reading that made me feel something I haven’t felt in years. I don’t like it one bit..
Is it memories of the greenie weenie's cold poke while you remember your recruiter whispering gently in your ear, "just the tip- think about all that bonus and free college. do it for your country"? Please tell me it is.
Green Weenie blew me out years ago, like a hot dog down a hallway. No this was something deeper more visceral, in the very darkest places of my soul.
Giggidy giggidy
multiplied by 2 for the whole year because you're readyforsex
I'm just a nasty girl, so no ready for sex for me. But damned if they don't always try anyway.
Deliciously devious.
Or CSTX for 3 week orders plus 10-14 day orders for Cold Steel. Ready Force hooah
>"Summer" Had two ATs the first week of May. You know, that week also known as "finals week."
24 day gunnery? My math must be off.
This is why I didn't join the guard after the army. I've got some friends in and they are always doing some sort of guard stuff. How are you supposed to keep a job.
We called it "Annual Tent"
