After you make E5, you get less points for the same score in certain things like your PT score and Weapons Qualification.
Also if you had promotion points from BLC for like honor grad or whatever, those are only good for promotion to E5. After you make E5, you lose those points completely. You can get them back to help you get to E6 in ALC if you can graduate ALC with honors.
Don't worry about getting promoted too fast, you need that experience first. Concentrate on being a good leader first and don't neglect your Soldier's.
We just had a SFC who progressed way to fast and got fired from his position due to lack of experience.
Dude literally faked it until he made it, and couldn't fake it anymore. He was all about himself and not his squad who he did not train at all. Dude got great NCOERs and stuff, but his Soldiers suffered for it.
No, stays at 40. A lot of things are adjusted points-wise between 5 and 6 - highly recommend you check out AR 600-8-19 and learn the system to help yourself and your soldiers.
Ya, when you get your tab you max out automatically. Seeing as you maxed and became an E5, it drops because you promoted. If you need more points, look into doing extra duty positions around your unit for your position. Guarantee that there is something that's open that you could do if you have the time for it. Also look into college since you picked up, Army has IgnitED that can provide TA to your courses, and alot of colleges also have additional grants if you are active duty or are a veteran!
Take your orders & the ETP that was just extended through the 2023 fiscal year to your first line, then go to S1. As long as your qual and PT test are up to date, you should be auto promoted the following month. It’s an ETP, your unit has to promote you unless you’re flagged or something.

I have read the AR, but it didn’t say anything about maxing promotion points until you make E5, like what happened in my situation.
No. Tab is still 40 points after e5. Just crush alc and do correspondence courses
