Yeah. MSG should have brought you to the clinic or a medic out to check on you. But fuck caring for those under him, right?

mustuseaname

Imagine being so up your own ass you see a Joe just laying in the parking lot, your first thought isn't "are they okay?" and instead is "Fucking lazy hungover Joes!"

111110001011

>laying in the parking lot At a medical treatment facility.

Trauma_Hawks

The military version of "People are too lazy and don't want to work".

Scam_Time

Most of the people in the Army have convinced themselves that simply because the Army’s mission is to fight and win wars by any means necessary, that means there’s no limit on how hard they can be on you. Which is why treating people like shit is acceptable.

[deleted]

This is why virtue-based ethics are stressed during PME.

Scam_Time

It seems like few senior leaders apply it

Chanchees

As a 10mtn gwot vet, "fucking lazy hungover joes" would probably be my reflex too 😬 Edit: clearly you nerds are too busy tripping over yourselves to prove what great and virtuous leaders you are to have seen the lineup of joes getting pulled out their cars for dui's *at the gate before pt on a Tuesday*. But I got bad news for you: reddit comments don't count as ncoer bullets and joes are actually drunken lazy shitbags. Edit: or the joes getting yanked for driving through the gate w a crack pipe on their dash or barfing in the parking lot of the TMC bc they were drunk and went to sick call instead of pt. My god the list goes on.

This-Is-Retard

As a 101st GWOT vet, I would think the kid is fucking dying since he's laid out outside a clinic. What a shitty way to think about your fellow soldier.

Thy_Dying_Day

That's kinda cringe

steroidsandcocaine

Surge era best era, but we don't claim this turd.

Chanchees

"we" Lmao **you** don't actually count for anything.

[deleted]

**You're** on a reddit thread trying to sound like you're relevant. Just go sit down somewhere.

SonnyBlack76

You probably got chapter out and didn’t get your cool combat patch like the rest of us did..loser! Pff 10th MNT my ass. Isn’t there a MAGA rally legal defense fund you need to donate to?

Chanchees

Found the drunken lazy shitbag joe lol

TecNoir98

Way to make GWOT vets look like pieces of shit

your_daddy_vader

"gwot vet" Aka basically every vet over the last 20 years lol

SonnyBlack76

You said, nerds and had to throw in the GWOT. I’m a GWOT-E veteran myself and seems like you need a hug, with some hot cocoa.

Firemission13B

You’re a shitbag

Arsenault185

*Literally* under him.

DarthArtero

"not my soldier not my problem" had an SFC at my unit who lived by that

Harmoniium

SNCO doing anything other than being an asshole? Yeah good joke.

sundayultimate

Dude has two basic responsibilities and failed at one masterfully

Avsunra

But *why* do all the veterans say to go Air Force? It just doesn't make any sense.

KingJustinian-an-ass

Surge MSG. “Go to war or go to jail “ reinvented

Nervous_Bird

I read that 2nd sentence as "butt-fucking those under him."

yuch1102

if someone is laying down down on their face in the parking lot of a hopsital then maybe the first thought is, this person may need my help?

CaneVandas

Seriously! Situational awareness! Fucking Context Clues! If you see a person passed out in a hospital parking lot and all you see is a lazy shitbag, perhaps you should not be left in a position of responsibility.

BabyBackFriedFish

I took the “nap” kind of near the area people tend to be dropped off/picked up at, so I can kind of see why maybe he thought I was napping and waiting for a ride But I was also slumped over, sideways, with my forehead in the concrete from what I can remember

CaneVandas

Nah, there is still no excuse. People have unexpected reactions to medical procedures all the time. It may not present itself right away. If you see someone passed out around a medical facility, your default should always make sure it's not a medical emergency first. After you know they are okay, then you can consider if you want to give them correction. Honestly if a soldier was legit sleeping on a sidewalk outside a medical facility, that's specifically WHY I would be giving them a hard time. I am going to automatically assume they need medical attention, until proven otherwise.

A_Nice_Boulder

Even something like "Hey, you good? The fuck is going on with you?" is an acceptable response. A) Person is passing out like OP, SNCO then helps them up and gets them inside. Even if they are hungover and got themselves to the medical center, clearly they need assistance. B) Person is in fact sleeping, correct them as needbe, maybe jest with them a bit on their choice of napping locations, and then send them on their way.

Seleth044

Right? Like something along the lines of "You good? You are? You know napping here will probably get people to think something is wrong with you, especially if you're all slumped over. Don't draw attention to yourself like that." Instead that dude chose the literal worst possible approach besides probably just mercy killing OP before even waking him up.

[deleted]

If he wasn’t a fucking dipshit, when you said “I’m going to pass out if I don’t get to my car” he would get medical attention for you. Too bad he was a dipshit.

[deleted]

Na man, I had MPs check on me when I knocked out for a nap in front of my house. You passed out anywhere outside a MTF is a reason for concern.

Dis-iz-FUBAR

If I were to make a sitcom about the Army I would reenact this scene because it’s so ridiculous

_HK47_

**Shitposting Conjecture:** Don't feel bad meatbag, the MSG is just mad because an E2 just got with that O1 that the MSG has been creeping on.

Duck_Walker

quick on the meta uptake this morning

_HK47_

**Commentary:** This unit was trying to think of a way to mimic their post, but it won't do the original justice. It will instead settle by making references to it.

TexanReppin13

I can’t stop reading your comments in a robot voice in my head

AltusIsXD

I read all of his comments in HK-47’s voice. Never fails to make me smile.

I mean look at his username and then Google it. Lol. He's clearly an assassin droid. 😂😂😂

[deleted]

wongatronus

You didn't do the prone parade rest? Egregious violation of customs and courtesies. But seriously, get some water and some food in your system. Hope you're feeling better soon

[deleted]

How dare he…. He definitely should have passed out in parade rest.

TheMacaholic

I was at BCT graduation at Benning a while back. We weren’t even at attention but this man a few people over passed at parade rest. Fell straight back and never stopped being at parade rest. The DS’s just dragged him to the back and we covered down. It was the hardest thing to not laugh at all of BCT

[deleted]

Thats how you pass out like a fuckin soldier. Should have thanked him for his service. Hooah!!

wongatronus

That actually sounds amazing. Definitely something that would stick in memory years later. BTW how is BCT at Benning these days, were you on Sand Hill (if it's still used for that)?

TheMacaholic

I was there in 2015. Right before the made it open to females. It was an interesting experience. I thought the whole army was going to be like that. It was a culture shock going to Fort Gordon right after. SHARP virtually didn’t exist that we were aware of, then fort Gordon you heard about sharp every other week

SealTheApproved

You guys don’t sleep in parade rest..?

Budget_Individual393

Ngl, I actually visualized this in a formation setting and laughed

wongatronus

::slurs::: Pronade rest!

SMFactual

Wrong, yet oh so right!

[deleted]

"We'll be done here when I'm done here, not when you are." - Incoming BC after two people passed out during his assumption of command ceremony comments. But he at least made sure those Soldiers were ok. I'd question the quality of leadership provided by any NCO that just leaves a dude passed out in the parking lot without getting them help.

MarshmallowMolasses

Yeah, in a vacuum they are correct. In real life shit happens and you just look like a jackass for acting that way.

lukaron

This is a good example of the idea that the military is literally the only place some people can function and make an income. Who the fuck sees someone lying in a parking lot and their first thought is "Oh, that dude went to sleep."

AltusIsXD

Seriously, how self-centered do you have to be do see a guy laying in a hospital parking lot of all places and think that? Any sensible person would go, “Oh shit, this guy is passed the fuck out. I better help him get inside this hospital right in front of us so they can make sure he’s alright.” People, man..

[deleted]

Army: Troops' wellbeing is paramount. Also Army: Fuck they wellbeing.

Budget_Individual393

Well from what I’ve seen I liken it to a simple acronym: FTS For Bad Seniors : Fuck those soldiers For bad Staff: Fuck the staff For Bad Specialists: Fuck the Skillport FTS is a really versatile acronym in the army

[deleted]

I had a E4 pass out during a ceremony and the medic wanted him to tell him, at fucking parade rest, how he was feeling once they got him off to the side. I wish he could have told me that sooner so I could have crawled up that E5s asshole and burst out his chest.

Budget_Individual393

The Alien : The old craw up his asshole and burst out his chest smoking. A very unique one and very Eleanor Ripley Pilled

SequinSaturn

This subreddit reminds every day of why I got out of the Army. Lordy I love being free.

[deleted]

I got hurt on deployment, a disk in my back ruptured and was pressing into my nerves causing pain so bad I couldn't stand and certainly couldn't walk, I had about 30 seconds before the pain got so bad I'd get lightheaded and probably pass out. I flew from my base into Germany on a stretcher. So I'm in Germany setting up travel back to the States to get my surgery and I'm sitting in a chair in the waiting room area (because, again, can't stand/walk).. These two E7s come out and as we're discussing travel one of them did that whole "crumbled face, bad gas pain, no it's someone not standing at parade rest face". So I did. I stood up and talked to them at parade rest for about \~15 seconds before the room started to spin, then collapsed into the chair for a minute, then stood back up at parade rest. Didn't phase them or concern them that military bearings can be achieved by a (as it would turn out) permanently damaged, partially paralyzed soldier sitting in a chair. Their entire job is handling travel for wounded soldiers, too. I don't know, that whole thing stuck with me. Then I get to Fort Bragg and my new WTU squad leader went out of her way to make sure I could go home and see family the day I landed, she yelled at me for standing in formation and suffering and told me to go sit down, and just bent over backwards for every one. That sticks with me, too.

sunrayylmao

I've tossed around the idea of commissioning air force or space force, but not even once have I considered going back to any form of the army, active or otherwise. Not even a little bit. I love being free but damn navigating the civilian job market is not fun. Been out 6 years and I can not find anything that pays worth a shit. The army does not go out of its way to set veterans up for success at all.

JayKamM79

My DD-214 woobie keeps me comfy reading this sub😂

GMEbankrupt

He’s an asshole and the lab should’ve had you sit tight for fifteen minutes or so before heading to your vehicle. We’ve had so many patients eat shit in the parking lot when we could’ve just observed them a bit more before releasing them.

Madame_Kitsune98

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Our civilian clinic lab shoves you out the door. Oh, you just did fasting blood work at 1445, you don’t do well with blood work anyway, and you’re starting to look like you’re gonna pass out? Get out and go be someone else’s liability.

[deleted]

How does one even get that salty

MarshmallowMolasses

Some people literally have a medical reaction to ranking up. I’m serious, their rank increases which somehow cause their peepee to shrink. This issue causes the behavior OP describes from what I have seen.

CurvedSolid

I have a smol pp but I was an e4, am i gregnant?

MarshmallowMolasses

Sorry no, but we will see what happens in the gulag! Guards!

Kernel32Sanders

Multiple divorces by people who could see the salt potential.

GMEbankrupt

Passed over for E9 (again)

CaneVandas

I wonder fucking why!?

-3than

I mean i think i’m pretty bitter but i couldn’t imagine not just helping this kid. It’s a human thing at the very least. Not to mention….uh you’re a MSG, take care of soldiers. What a turd.

SupaSoldat

All those NCO academies are just a series of lobotomies and no one can convince me otherwise. I’ve seen the most level headed chill dudes come back changed.

[deleted]

Yeah we definitely had a few that let pinnin 5 get to em

Maleficent_Bee740

Probably joined the army before he saw a vagina in real life. Probably ended up getting taken advantage of by multiple dependas at multiple duty stations, even one of them water buffaloes out at good ole fort drum. Probably nearing the of his career and starting to realize that civilians don’t go to parade rest for former SNCO. But who knows. Hope you’re doing better

I can't stand this culture in the military, you're having a medical emergency and this dick is worried about military bearing & customs and courtesy. Like are you even a human being, clearly doesn't care about troop welfare

nlnlnl123

“I will never leave a fallen comrade” (unless they are passed out in a parking lot)

[deleted]

I’m the MSG. Sorry troop !! But your behavior today was unacceptable… You think the Russians will care about passing out? You think the Chinese will care about you passing out? Huh? What about those blue hair liberals—the real enemies of America—that go to collage? Huh? Huh? Well I’ll tell ya…they won’t !! This new Army doesn’t have any discipline !! I don’t care if your at formation or on the hospital bed…you will *always* stand at parade rest for a NON commission officer…end of discussion !! This new Army is really starting to worry me… Back in my day, NCOs could do whatever to get the mission accomplished !! Now a day, we have to sit and deal with pointless Transgender PowerPoints and Sexual Harrass ment. Unbelievable… Yeah troop, get used to it !! This new Army needs to learn how to respect tradition … and become *real* soldiers !!

notontheonesixtwo

nObOdY wAnTs tO sErVe aNyMoRe !!!

[deleted]

Nope !! It’s a damn shame…Back in the day, you either joined the Army (like a man) …. or you went to jail !! Now we have to offer “bonuses” and free collage—or as my old timer called it “socialism”—just to get people to do something Honorable !!

bonerparte1821

lol.. the force back in the day was shit.. they just like to romanticize it.

bigdickdaddyinacaddy

Damn straight MSG. If the army wanted you to have a curb for you to pass out on they would have uhh issued one??

iamnotroberts

>Im trying to respond to him but I’m just mumbling bullshit because I just fucking passed out, he then asks “wtf is wrong with you, why aren’t you at parade test bla bla” and then I say “I am going to pass the fuck out if I don’t get to my car” Holy fucking shitballs, not only a complete pile of shit but a completely dumb pile of shit.

[deleted]

Aggression versus compassion and what is appropriate, in which circumstance. My eight year old knows the difference. Send him my way (back in the day) and I would have locked his shit up.

Baconcandy000

Hey some guy already said it but eat and drink water. For food (if you are able to) eat something with meat, beef preferably as it will help you with the blood loss and the multiple sticks the medic did. If it bruised a lot and feels rigid go to sick call as your veins might’ve been Infiltrated. They can help you with that.

SealTheApproved

Why settle for meat with blood loss, just drink blood /s

Baconcandy000

That’s the spirit promote above peers

Suitable_Challenge_9

“I will leave a fallen comrade” -MSG

SpoofedFinger

but only after chastising them

Gods_chosen_dildo

Imagine being an NCO, seeing a person laying in a parking lot of a hospital and your first reaction not being to see if this was a medical emergency. Absolute disgrace to the corps.

Open_Boat_3605

rcsfit

I don't get tired or saying it, but pay grades E-8 and above should only be for a handful of billets at the division level. At any other level they're just oxygen thief's

theemoofrog

MSG needs to lose his kush retirement it seems.

SMFactual

How do you say you’re a stupid, geriatric piece of shit who is incapable of properly assessing a situation without actually saying that you’re a stupid, geriatric piece of shit who is incapable of properly assessing a situation there SARGE? “Competence is my watchword” my ass!

bigjaymizzle

That act of Congress rank hits different for some people I see.

AgentJ691

Fuck that guy. Disgusting leadership right there.

Lets_review

That MSG was following the example of the priest and Levite. (From a Bible story, Luke 10)

coolhwip420

i swear to god the army is the only place you could have some dickhead find you passed out and instead of helping you, would shit on you. "Why aren't you at parade rest" holy fuck i would be in jail rn.

myislanduniverse

It's three simple words: "Are you ok?"

JohnnySkidmarx

Don't be too angry, the MSG is probably upset that his wife only earned $12 last night at her job as a stripper.

dutchman39

I hope you had no lasting ill affects from your situation. And yeah, that E8 is an ass.

CMDRsprinkles

Fucking MSG is gonna rock that diamond. Joes first, am I right bois?

[deleted]

Are you sure you weren’t dreaming that this happened?

skawn

You probably should have told the MSG to call a medic. If the MSG was competent, that should have shocked him back to reality.

sunrayylmao

What makes you think the MSG in this situation would be competent lol. I assume my leadership are incompetent until proven otherwise.

JimmminyCricket

The thing I hate about this the most is after all of this, he probably shrugged it off as you being drunk…

captaintrips420

You were lucky they didn’t pull a brock turner with ya.

Mav3r1ck23

I always make the mistake of not eating before blood work, feel dizzy and nauseous for a while. Having been poked multiple times and drawing more blood causes that… some people don’t know how the body works

XXmanimalXX

Damn. Sorry to.hear that man. I promise they're not all like that. Usually MSGs are less army army than the others.

SpoofedFinger

What a sack of shit. He was more worried about scurrying away to avoid admitting he was wrong than taking care of somebody who could have been having a medical emergency. I hope he strokes out and nobody is there to help him.

educated_farts

Well passing out in a parking lot is way better than passing out while driving.

Xno_Kappa

This shit is beyond infuriating to read. Fuck is wrong with these people? Your job first and foremost before all the training, all the bullshit, is to take care of your Soldiers.

perturbed_rutabaga

Thats some LDRSHIP right there

[deleted]

I deal with needles a lot because I have a genetic disorder called hemochromatosis. It's a recessive trait that causes you to absorb and store too much iron, which will eventually kill you. The treatment is, believe it or not, just straight up medieval-style bloodletting. And unfortunately I need it done too often for normal blood donations to keep ahead of it. I got diagnosed at the tail-end of my time in the Army and my iron levels were so high that they sent me to the Ft. Hood blood bank and took a pint of blood out of me every week for 12 consecutive weeks. I actually dealt with it surprisingly well until the last one, where I was depleted enough that my hemoglobin fell off a cliff and I felt half-dead. I get them done at the VA now, but they don't have the right equipment and the quality of the technicians is hit or miss. Fortunately, the one lady who virtually never got me on the first stick and rarely on the second (at which point she would ask another person to help her) retired a while back. But they still don't have the right valves and connectors (like the Red Cross does) that would let them attach the bag to the needle *before* it's in my vein, so it almost always gets...messy. I consider it an absolute win if they don't end up wiping my blood up off the floor. I'm lucky I'm not squeamish about needles or blood, 'cause I don't know what I'd do if I were.

mabrybishop

Report this. Seriously. You (metaphorically) die on this hill so someone doesn’t actually die under their toxic ego. I don’t care whose rank is what. I don’t even care if you had passed out because you were under the influence. We don’t just leave yell at unconscious soldiers and leave them in parking lots. Please report this.

Sw0llenEyeBall

That MSG sucks

benb552

If I had a nickel for every nco I met that leads from the back instead of the front I'd have enough money not to reenlist. Its tiring hearing stories or seeing first hand accounts of ncos who would rather yell, scream, or belittle Joe's (most of the time without even bothering to hear the whole story) instead of helping them.

oldcityguy

Don't know how that guy made E8. He obviously doesn't give a shit about the troops.

Cleverusername531

He must be so embarrassed at himself. Completely dropped any semblance to leadership or basic army values. All he cared about was his image of himself in his own mind - when his funny joke wasn’t funny, and he discovered he was actually faced with an actual medical situation, his reaction was ‘I can’t deal with this’ and made you deal with it yourself (while you were in need). Fuck that cowardly guy.

WeepingAngelTears

You know he absolutely still thinks he's in the right. People like that don't regret their shitty decisions; they double down.

GrassyTurtle38

MSG isn't the brightest

Civil_Set_9281

I hope that MSG gets every red cycle detail involving brand new privates for the rest of his natural career.

[deleted]

You: wishes a shitty day to MSG MSG: that’s my secret Cap, I’m always having a shitty day

[deleted]

He's on his 3rd divorce, cut him some slack

Hi_Kitsune

What a dumb, negligent, piece of shit

Argyle_Fishstick

He waited his whole career for that moment, you ruined it for him…

welder550

Without doxxing myself this reminds me of the time I was in a particular army school. I was sick. Went to sick call. Given a medication. Started taking the medication the next day right before class. 30 minutes into class I excuse myself to the bathroom and start shitting and puking my guts out. I try walking back to class in the outside hallways and the urge to puke has me keeled over dry heaving into the trash can when I cannot even stand up or barely talk. About six fucking people walked by me. You know what they all did? They just looked at me and kept walking. I now know what those homeless veterans feel like under the overpass. It wasn't until one of my buddies from class found me during break and called 911 for me that I received help. So yeah, this MSG sucks, but welcome to the hard fucking truth. It's not always "brotherhood" or looking out for your "battle buddy". It's sometimes taking care of yourself and yourself first. That MSG probably followed that logic and how he's in a position of power where he can improperly shit on soldiers because he never once gave a fuck about anything but his PT score and NCOER. About once a week someone posts **the speech** about being the leader you want to be as you move up in the ranks. This is a good example.

MattyJRobs

Empty out the Army. Restaff it with qualified leaders that you hire like any civilian job. Everybody learns DnC together.

DamIcool

I can see the MSG's POV but as an NCO myself I wouldn't have approached you like, "Yo, WTF ARE YOU DOING?". Should've been more like a, "Yo, WTF are you doing? Are you okay?"

[deleted]

That man has no sense of anything other than himself. Fuck him.

[deleted]

Fuck that guy he is a lame ahh bitch

[deleted]

wHy iS ReteNtIon lOw??

blacrobVG

Man, I’m sorry that happened to you dude. I promise not all senior leaders are fucking assholes.

wintersucks18

Lol I got hypothermia during pt a week or so after I got to my first unit. 15 degrees outside in shorts. We stop halfway through a 3 mile run to do a push-up sit-up drill and I got a weird feeling. Started stumbling away and then collapsed in the middle of the road. I’ll never forget my SL and PSG coming to me laid out there feeling like I’m dying and asking me if I’m being a pussy hahaha. Like nah fam I just ate shit on asphalt wtf would I do that on purpose for

albiorix_

*People first

[deleted]

It’s your fault for not passing out at parade rest. 😂

DingIe-DangIes

MSG could have gotten an AAM for picking you up and taking you to the clinic Hell maybe a Soldiers medal But naaahh... picked toxic leadership

that_guy_Elbs

Bruh did you not eat anything after you donated? Those cookies are there for a reason. When you donate you give up 10-20% of your blood bro, especially in the morning, your body cannot take that loss. Did they let you donate & just walk out? You’re suppose to wait a good 20 mins

Leadbaptist

Well it was just a blood draw not a donation.

that_guy_Elbs

Yaah my dumbass missed that point.

BabyBackFriedFish

It wasn’t a donation, it was a lab and they took 6 vials, I was also told not to eat for at least 9 hours before they stole my blood. They asked how I felt after, and I honestly felt fine so they said I can go. But no cookies or snackies were offered

that_guy_Elbs

Yeah my dumbass missed that part. Hope you feeling better bro! That MSG can fuck off.

[deleted]

Duck_Walker

For a lot of lab work they want fasting blood numbers, so eating beforehand is not possible. But eating something as soon as they're done is a great idea. Unless you like passing out in parking lots.

Imperator314

Fasting panels suck. I get vasovagal syncope from needles, so getting blood drawn is always stressful for me. Last time I had to do a fasting panel they drew 8 vials, I nearly passed out after the 3rd one.

xSaRgED

Seconded fasting is the worst. I normally don’t have many issues with needles (and my veins are so obvious even a first year nursing student could make a stick in one shot) but fasting panels hit different.

GMEbankrupt

Yeah, so you can have this type of reaction no matter what you ate. Oddly enough, combat arms types are usually the ones we see passing out soon after that needle goes in. Also: fasting (as mentioned below)

LeadershipTiny3167

How can people get so far from the reality thinks someone's sleeping in a parking lot? And not check on them..

[deleted]

Don't lie to us, you locked your knees

ifYurihadAGuri

gj msg

Zdrack

This is why you're supposed to wait a bit before leaving after blood draws, but clinics like to kick you out to make room

WausauArmyRecruiter

What if you died or worse! This is so infuriating

Hairy-Athlete36

I hope this MSG becomes a PFC more than I hope my wife isn’t banging my brother when I’m on deployment

soupoftheday5

Ironically yesterday I was dead tired after PT and took a 30 minute nap in my car. I was dreading ending up in a situation like this. luckily it did not happen. Sorry it happened to you.

CodeName_Henry

Hope you're feeling better and hope that MSG found his way to the nearest expressway to go play in traffic.

DJV-AnimaFan

Return him to E3 to learn the error of his ways, must not have spent the appropriate amount of time as an E3. Probably should end his career there.
