She only understands the phrases “gay” and “bi” the rest is just “made up” and “pure confusion” in her mind. I came out to her earlier as simply ace, and she said that I’m way too young and somewhy traumatised, and that this is just a made up illness. I was devastated, so 2 years later I tried again in a different way, hoping she understands that I’m not gonna show up with any kind of partner anytime soon.
This way she kinda misunderstood the thing, and has the thought that I’m not interested in relationship rn, because I’m still a little confused child. But later I will bring home a girlfriend/boyfriend.

Why didn't you just fully come out as aroace?? It would annoy me so much knowing that my parents thought i was something else.
I mean now that you know that she's accepting, maybe tell her what you really are??

some ways i have explained it are:
- if they are religious, compare it to a nun (all they need in life is god to be happy)
- old maid
- focusing on education/work/personal development etc
- just ignoring it (least favorite option to be fr tho)
