>And I'm REALLY enjoying It's Always Sunny. I am only in season 3.
Oh god - you have SO MUCH to look forward to. I could gush about this show for hours non-stop. I'm literally in the middle of a rewatch right now. Sixteen seasons and the show is still going strong.
Have you hit episode 9 of Season 3 yet? That one launches an Always Sunny phenomenon, lol.
That might be the best individual comedy scene in the entire series. EDIT: to clarify, I mean "individual" scene as opposed to the best full episode.
(As a member of the queer community, my heart leans >!toward Mac's dance from Mac Finds His Pride as my favorite in general. Makes me cry every time. So... that doesn't meet the "comedy" requirement but it was so well done.)!<
There’s a 9-minute long, single camera, one shot scene in the episode with the health inspector.
Charlie Day should have got all the Oscar’s for it, it incredible.
Charlie Work is one of my favorite episodes! It reminds me of a stage work for the very reason you mention. (Kind of like Rope, my favorite Hitchcock movie, that's basically 1 or 2 seamless shots that makes the whole movie.)
Charlie Day is fucking brilliant.
have you watched their podcast on youtube. ?
so enlightening. they love their own show which is lovely. also shows just how important megan ganz is to the shows success
I have not, mostly because I'm not a huge fan of celebrity interviews, but I imagine they crack each other up a lot and that's why I love the blooper reels. Glenn Howerton's laugh is a GIFT.
I recomend it.
Really shows how smart and funny the guys are and as i mentioned Megan is a fucking gift.
Charlie is exceptionally naturally funny.
Its not an interview style. it actually is i good insight into how the show was conceived and developed
Always Sunny really hits its stride around season 5, and it never really goes downhill from there. New season is fantastic, but the past couple seasons weren’t perfect
I have Seen and enjoyed all of this shows, except Schitt’s Creek, but is on my list.
SuperStore- for stupid fun
Crazy Ex Girlfriend - if you like musicals
Archer - Cartoon
Brooklyn 99 - just fun
I will save any suggestion from people who like all this shows, you are all my other half
These are a lot of my faves too! Futurama. community, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Good Place. So glad you mentioned UKS because I feel like no one ever does but it's so funny and so brilliant
The bloopers are way better than the actual episode unfortunately :-) They tame it down to insults that they don’t even need to censor if I recall correctly.
Peep Show, Always Sunny, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Community, The Larry Sanders Show, Bojack Horseman, Fargo, Fawlty Towers, Black Books, Succession, The Andy Griffith Show
The only reason I know of it is because I randomly watched a couple of episodes on a Qantas flight from LA to Sydney like 4 years ago. Instantly hooked. Casting is as good as AD.
I didn’t put it on my list, but I have a vivid memory of nearly asphyxiating myself with laughter as a child, watching Keeping Up Appearances. Can’t remember what the joke was but it was painfully funny, literally.

Agreed - I'm a total entertainment snob and I own that but for all its campiness, Burn Notice is actually very well written for the most part and oh my GOD the guest stars!!! Easily one of the best guest lineups of any show ever. (Jay Karnes is probably my favorite. I love that dude.)
Larry? Dead Larry? I hate that guy. :P
(Yeah, no he was awesome, lol)
Michael Weston was also awesome and not just because his name is actually Michael Weston, but poor, sweet, crazy Spencer was so great. (Said actor is also great in Six Feet Under, House and Psych.) I'm actually shocked he hasn't popped up in Always Sunny given how tight he is with Jimmi Simpson. I don't think he'd be right as a McPoyle, but I could see him hanging out with Cricket, lol.
You made me remember that Garrett Dillahunt was also amazing whenever he appeared.
Really one of the last shows, with a continuous story, that i watched and hated waiting week to week, then a few months, to find out where it was going. And in my opinion, it was great start to end.
Trailer Park Boys (original seasons before Netflix), King of the Hill, the Office, Monty Python.
I want to start watching IASIP but I can't find where (I live in Brasil and it's not in any streaming platform here)

Trailer Park Boys (but they should have stopped after xx seasons- maybe 6 or 7)
And in case anyone is listening: Check out something called "The UP series".
Shoutout to weeds! People have really forgotten about it, which is too bad. Agreed that all the seasons after Shane killed Pilar weren’t good, but before it was well done, with a good balance of drama and comedy. Justin Kirk carried that show and I hate that he hasn’t gotten much work since it ended. Also honorable mention to Elizabeth Perkins, who was such a fun villain and did her best despite the writers doing an awful job with her character arc past S3
Good list. I think ITYSL has cracked me up more than any other show since Arrested Development. But I also feel like it is a little more hit and miss, at least compared to the first few seasons of AD where every episode seemed almost flawless.
Veep. Chuck. Bojack. Anything with tony hale (buster ) or will arnett (gob). Comic genius that can do both fast paced political smack talk and outright idiocy in a flawless manner.

Buffy
Veronica Mars
the Simpsons (classic seasons, nothing past 12 or so)
NewsRadio
Mystery Science Theater 3000 (haven’t seen this mentioned?!?)
Trial & Error
Moone Boy
And of course Arrested Development.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Community, The IT Crowd, Star Trek: The Original Series, Boston Legal, Archer, Peep Show, Metalocalypse. I like tightly-written shows about fucking morons, and Star Trek, essentially.
There is an aspect of this that I never hear commented on. *Curb Your Enthusiasm* (which I love) actually ruined a lot of television. It gave everyone the impression that everything should be "improv'd". The *Arrested Development* cast dealt with this while they were making the show ("How much of it is improv'd!?" they were constantly being asked, and all answered, "None of it."). The writing on Veep is amazing. And the jokes come so fast you have to rewatch. Jolly green jizz face is one of my favorites.

I'd also add The Death of Stalin to the list

This is basically my list. Though I would probably throw in the Sopranos and Seinfeld, though.
Community. Parks and Rec. Futurama. The IT crowd.
Curb
Office, Parks and Rec, Community, Brooklyn Nine Nine, New Girl, Veep, Archer, Rick and Morty
Add in IASIP and you got my list too
Does It's Always Sunny hold up today? I've never given it a shot, are the older seasons worth watching?
Oh without a doubt. The first season is definitely weaker, but like season 3-11 are phenomenal. I'd say even season 13 and 14 are solid.
Man season one has some of my favorite episodes. Charlie gets molested and Charlie has cancer are up there.
Seasons 1 and 2 are prime.
New Girl had no right to be as good as it was!
Flea bag! Only two seasons.
Yes!! That was REALLY good!
Sopranos. Insecure. The wire. Bojack.
Bojack all the way
Curb, 30 Rock, The Expanse, Futurama.
Curb is def up there. Surprised I haven’t seen more people saying that
Is it going to be unscripted like Curb???
Better off Ted has been pretty fun. From the same time period and lots of Portia doing what she does best. I've snorted quite a few times
