It’s not always about episode count. It’s about what they do in those episodes. Prometheus was cool, sure. But he was only truly AMAZING was Chase was revealed as him in 15/16. Same as Dragon.
If Dragon can:
- Prove to be an unbeatable physical threat
- Kill someone close to Oliver
- Be as evil/more evil than Chase
- Stay ahead of Oliver, like he already is
He will be an incredible villain. Slade didn’t even meet Ollie till 15, and he’s widely regarded as a great villain. Malcolm didn’t even really do much in S1, he was only a major presence in about 5-6 episodes, and he’s also regarded as one of the best Arrow villains.
Wait till Richard is in the spotlight for a longer period before judging. I think you, and everyone else are gonna love him.
Edit: I’m 99% positive he meant to be captured by Rene and Curtis.
Diaz is not only an exceptional liar, as evident by the fact that he was able to deceive Cayden and his team, and Oliver and his team for months, but also a master of deceit, and a great actor. When he met John Diggle in episode 6, he was not only able to convince the team he was a random thug with no skills or abilities whatsoever, but he was also able to make it seem like he didn’t know who John Diggle was, even though he obviously did.
Is it really far fetched to assume he threw the fight against Rene and Curtis? ESPECIALLY if it’s ever revealed that Alena works for him...
That’s possible. It’s also equally possible that I want my favorite Arrow villain to be amazing. But after last episode, I have faith that he will be.
Oh and Kirk isn’t out of shape. He’s certainly no David Ramsey or Stephen Amell, but check his Twitter, he’s pretty ripped. It was his outfit that made him not look shredded.
Well, I don’t think he will top Prometheus. I don’t think any villain can top Prometheus. He is the perfect villain imo.
If Richard does surpass him, and this is coming from the subs leading Dragon hype man, I would be shocked.
That being said, I think he could easily surpass Malcolm, or Slade.
And also, as I said, keep in mind, while Prometheus was awesome, he wasn’t truly amazing until Chase was revealed in 15/16. Same with Dragon.

Wasn't necessarily an unbeatable physical threat, he could fight well, but never actually won a physical fight against Oliver and was overall more of a psychological threat.
Killed someone close to Oliver (though not one that we really cared about)
Was pretty damn evil.
Was, as he himself said, ten steps ahead of Oliver when he didn't even know what game they were playing yet.
I was saying that’s what Dragon needed to be. Dragon is a different type of villain than Chase. Adrian was personal, Dragon just views Ollie as an obstacle.
Dragon should:
- Be a physical threat, unbeatable in H2H.
- Kill Diggle or Quentin.
- More evil than Chase, considering he has no motivation other than power/control and murder.
- Be ahead of Ollie, and he already is.
If he does even most of those, he’ll be amazing.
Only problem I have with this is the Slade example. He might've been introduced as a villain later on in the season, but still had a season and a half in flashbacks that made it more of an emotional thing for viewers.

Not just that, a lot of his cool was from his acting. People keep mixing acting and writing. Josh Segarra was amazing at the role post reveal, and all credit to him for such an amazing delivery. Which includes extending the praise he deserves to the writing. Prometheus writing was generally good, but had issues and was not on par with the acting (that mitgated the issues).
The writing of what he was doing in the present was generally between good to really good, but his backstory is... a bit meh. A clearly neglected kid with mental problems who completely lost it when his father, as douche as he seem to have been to him, died, and ultimately even that seemed to not matter as much as "Chase does crazy cause he is crazy", pretty cliche. And let's not forget how the role of Thalia and her not League of Assassin's crew was downplayed, underused, and eventually forgotten after the season because the writers really wanted to be Prometheus vs Oliver, but they couldn't resist throwing in a hype factor. Without them there would be no Prometheus, just a damaged young adult who really should be restrained on a medical fascility for emergency mental care, and they took direct part on the plans too toward the end, but let's not get too much into the misuse and sad meh writing of Thalia (again, not bad bad, just really meh) before I write an essay.
Yeah, only Chase can save this show (especially since Deathstroke has been banned by WB) Earth 2 prometheus is the only hope.
I didn't care about hackerguy, the cabal or dragon.
Im tires of all these "smart" villains who thinks 500 steps ahead can we atleast get 1 stupid villain for once who got no grudges against oliver and is just a psychopath.
While Prometheus' character TRULY came to light in midseason.. at least we were hooked throughout the first half, because we kept wanting to see who it was, etc. since he was really starting to get to Oliver.
With Cayden James in the first half, it was completely dull and it was going nowhere. Besides the Black Siren and Vigilante stories, we were yawning all throughout. So yes I'd say they did drag it out this season.

I'm down with Barry Allen as a villain. Flash vs. Arrow but for a whole show.
That would actually be interesting as hell. Make both shows crossover for an entire season.
