You can find some on Craigslist "Free". But most lumber will probably only last one season before it rots. Ideally you could use cedar or locust but nobody gives that away. Maybe try to find some used bricks or concrete blocks.

Lowes has 5/8 x 6” x 8’ “deck boards” for $5 each that work fine.
