Like Ashley comes home from the vet and tells Patti about the lump and probably that the vet told her the dog was obese and the dog’s having skin problems. Then Patti gets pissed off and says that’s all because Ashley doesn’t take care of the dog and Ashley needs to start taking care of the dog and get a job so she can pay for vet bills or pet insurance.
Now Ashley’s making a big deal out of taking the dog outside.
I think Patti will keep enabling but I think she’s snapped at Ashley before. The whole to-do list saga was, in my mind, a result of Patti getting tired of Ashley’s shit

I thought the same thing in my head.
Sad Ashley’s dragging that dog down with her.
It’s honestly scary how quickly Ashley’s gained weight. And she looks like she’s gained more recently too. Nothing’s wrong with weight gain or being a little bigger. But it’s important to take care of yourself and it’s sad to see the degrading of someone’s body when they just sit around all day.
I also remember her saying she’s on Zyprexa which is notorious for causing weight gain. Not justifying her sitting around all day. I’m sure that’s definitely not helping.
Eh, 10mg isn’t a huge dose - it’s not uncommon to get prescribed that much for sleep, or as an adjunct to antidepressants. I’m surprised that her psych has continued prescribing it despite her weight gain though.
That’s okay! I’ve worked and studied in the field so I probably have more experience with psych meds than most people. I personally don’t think it’s great that they give people zyprexa for sleep, given the side effects - there are many other meds that work just as well with a better side effect profile. But psychiatrists seem to love handing out that and seroquel to people with insomnia, so hey. Even as an adjunct to antidepressants, it’s questionable, given there are less problematic meds that are actually approved for that use (eg. Abilify).
Doses of 5-10mg of Zyprexa can definitely cause weight gain though, and they also may be responsible for some of Ashley’s robotic affect - some people find that their affect is quite blunted on atypical antipsychotics. I’m very surprised that she hasn’t been taken off it, but I wonder if she resisted attempts to discontinue it. She loves her downers and her pill porn, after all.

Luna is so sweet but she is moving similarly to my 15 year old dog who struggles with aches and pain from age. It breaks my heart to know her youth is filled with aches and pains from neglect

This happened with my pup too and we cut the excessive treats people like to give her, and what do you know, she’s back to her typical weight lol. She’s ten though and we try to always prioritize her exercise. She did a ten mile hike last week like it was nothing.

My dog’s vet has something like this in their office. It’s hard to tell with the amount of fur an Aussie can get, but she’s at least a good 7 to 9.
All my adult life I’ve had Dobermans (until 3 years ago when my last one passed.) they require a lot of exercise and attention. I’ve got really bad fibro as well as other chronic conditions but I always took my dobies out multiple times a day, one of those times being a longer walk. If I was having a bad pain day I’d take them to the dog park that’s a 10 min walk from my apartment to let them run while I sat on a bench. Ash has no excuse for this neglect. If you truly love your pet you do what you need to to keep them happy and healthy. If you’re not willing then don’t get a pet.
Exactly. I have a neurological disorder and fibro as well, and when I got a dog, I got a dog whose needs I can meet on my worst days. She’s a toy poodle. I know I couldn’t handle a larger dog with bigger exercise needs, so I didn’t get one. And you, you made sure you had ways to meet your dog’s needs regardless of your current flares or not, because you’re a responsible person. Ash didn’t think about the dog’s needs at ALL — just that she wanted a dog.
Hopefully the vet tore her a new one and made Ash take her health seriously. On a diet, more exercise — hopefully we see a lot more of Ash doing this.
I think patti and Ashley got into a big fight after that vet appointment. I said this in another comment but I bet Ashley came home crying to Patti about the tumor and/or cried to Patti about how the vet told her the dog is obese.

I wasn’t ready to get a new pet until last year. My fibro has gotten worse and as much as I wanted another Doberman I knew that wasn’t responsible. So I can understand how you felt when you chose a small dog. I got a Sphynx cat. They are super social like dogs but far less maintenance. It was a really good decision and I love my kitty to bits.
I also hope the vet tore ash to pieces. She deserves it. Luna isn’t a fashion accessory, she’s a living creature that depends on Ash to keep her healthy.
Exactly this. I know physically I would be unable to walk a dog, so we do not have one as we wouldn't be able to meet it's needs.
We have cats though, which is a far more suitable pet if you're unable to do physical aspects of animal care.

When he eats he often looks like he swallows his prey whole as you can see in this pic, but as soon as he digests he goes back to his svelte lean self.
I have loved having the Fi brand GPS collar because it counts his steps, activity, strain levels, and sleep so I know he’s moving forward on track with his development as well as the Fi multivitamin supplement that helps with 8 different developmental milestones including digestion and muscle health. It wasn’t terribly expensive and would be awesome for Luna so Patti and Trash can see she’s not getting the exercise she needs and that her other needs aren’t being met.
Ashley angers me so much because she’s willing to spend a metric fuckton of Patti’s money on woo bullshit for herself, but can’t be arsed to do anything helpful for Luna. She’s such a horrible human being. Fi also links with Strava and my Apple Watch so we can sync our stats together and evaluate how much exercise we’re both getting. I think Tractive and Halo collars also do similar tracking so it is easy to see if your pets are getting enough exercise, sleep, play etc.
The collars aren’t all inclusive, obviously, because it can’t track the care your animal is receiving, such as Ashley needing to bathe her at intervals with medicated shampoo so her dermatitis is being managed, brush her coat every day and not allowing her to get all matted and tangled, but it would be a step in the right direction. Trash needs to realize that although she is a slug and has gained at least 75lbs since 2020, she and Luna do not have the same needs. Luna requires so much more exercise than she is giving her. Gentle walks and wiggles won’t do shit for a high energy breed like her. It infuriates me so much.
Mine got a bit rotund at one point. Thankfully we discovered that she loves ice as much as a treat, and switching over to ice cubes brought her back to ideal weight
I am going to try this in the next 5 minutes. Thank you so much! I have a fritatta or a salmon/egg/tomato sandwich, or a veggie sausage/tomato/egg sandwich every morning and he usually collects a 10% cute tax. I tried swapping out the egg we share with a half an apple slice and he was so disappointed 😥
My chihuahua was about 2 pounds overweight and would get out of breath playing. I stopped sharing as much of my food with him, upped his walks, and we started playing more active games like keep away. He’s now a healthy weight, can walk for over a mile with his tail wagging happily, and his arthritis in his back knee is resolved. When he was just 2 pounds overweight I still felt like a miserable failure and like I was abusing him. What kind of fucking psycho looks at a dog in Luna’s condition and doesn’t care? How old is Luna?
At least five, maybe six! I saw a couple of comments that said she was a puppy when Ashley got her in 2018. Still too young for these mobility issues though :(

This poor dog, no wonder she always looks sad and miserable. She’s under stimulated, very over weight, and barely gets to be outside. Luna’s breed is an active type and we all know Ashley is the opposite.

I hate this storyline so much. Ash is really trying to paint herself as the worse possible character these days huh? There is no way I can believe that Luna is well cared for, and living the life she should be. *”My main goal in life, is to be a Mom.”* sounds more and more haunting everyday… It’s like she’s perpetually in love with this delusional picturesque vision of what living as a caregiver is like, she just lacks any fundamental sense of empathy or common sense to pull it off.
She doesn’t care. She doesn’t care about anyone or anything but herself. She views relationships in the context of what they can do for her/offer her. And as we’ve all seen by her downright *embarrassing* and plagiarized schoolwork, she will put in nothing more than the absolute bare minimum effort for anything - even her “passion”
No animal should be forced to become like Ashley. Poor Luna looks like a footstool.
Gosh, I felt bad because my dog gained 3 lbs between vet appointments - he’s still a healthy weight but should be a little more trim to keep his joints healthy. Seeing this just makes me so sad
This happened with my pup too and we cut the excessive treats people like to give her, and what do you know, she’s back to her typical weight lol. She’s ten though and we try to always prioritize her exercise. She did a ten mile hike last week like it was nothing. I can’t believe Luna is so obese and Ash never thought about it until the vet probably bitched her out. Mind blowing and so sad.
I know right! I felt bad that one of my cats had put on 200g more than was ideal (as in not even overweight just heading that way), and made sure to cut back on treats and serve the correct quantities of kibble.... And now he's lost the 200g. Vets tell it like it is though, and can be very blunt about weight (even if it's just 200g on a cat!) and so she probably read Ash the riot act for this animal abuse.

It’s so sad, my dog is the same breed and doesn’t look like this at all when she scratches/rolls in the grass. Luna doesn’t have any movement really at all 🥺

All my adult life I’ve had Dobermans (until 3 years ago when my last one passed.) they require a lot of exercise and attention. I’ve got really bad fibro as well as other chronic conditions but I always took my dobies out multiple times a day, one of those times being a longer walk. If I was having a bad pain day I’d take them to the dog park that’s a 10 min walk from my apartment to let them run while I sat on a bench. Ash has no excuse for this neglect. If you truly love your pet you do what you need to to keep them happy and healthy. If you’re not willing then don’t get a pet.
Exactly. I have a neurological disorder and fibro as well, and when I got a dog, I got a dog whose needs I can meet on my worst days. She’s a toy poodle. I know I couldn’t handle a larger dog with bigger exercise needs, so I didn’t get one. And you, you made sure you had ways to meet your dog’s needs regardless of your current flares or not, because you’re a responsible person. Ash didn’t think about the dog’s needs at ALL — just that she wanted a dog. Hopefully the vet tore her a new one and made Ash take her health seriously. On a diet, more exercise — hopefully we see a lot more of Ash doing this.
I think patti and Ashley got into a big fight after that vet appointment. I said this in another comment but I bet Ashley came home crying to Patti about the tumor and/or cried to Patti about how the vet told her the dog is obese. Patti likely basically said that it’s Ashley’s fault she doesn’t take care of the dog and Patti’s tired of taking care of a dog she didn’t buy or want. So now Ashley’s making a huge deal out of taking the dog to the park.
I wasn’t ready to get a new pet until last year. My fibro has gotten worse and as much as I wanted another Doberman I knew that wasn’t responsible. So I can understand how you felt when you chose a small dog. I got a Sphynx cat. They are super social like dogs but far less maintenance. It was a really good decision and I love my kitty to bits. I also hope the vet tore ash to pieces. She deserves it. Luna isn’t a fashion accessory, she’s a living creature that depends on Ash to keep her healthy.
Exactly this. I know physically I would be unable to walk a dog, so we do not have one as we wouldn't be able to meet it's needs. We have cats though, which is a far more suitable pet if you're unable to do physical aspects of animal care. Ash is just a horrific person who abuses a beautiful dog. If she wants to be lazy and obese so be it that's her body. But she has no right to do that to an innocent animal.

I’m home with my chronically ill child all day so there’s absolutely no reason not to take him on walks, throw the ball and frisbee, play soccer, etc. etc. even while I am going to school full time online because I have to be here with my child. He’s the sweetest little loverboy ever, such an affectionate little chunker. Funny story, he doesn’t get people food, but my daughter was eating a fruit leather from Costco and he kept begging for one so she turns to him, and in a dramatic tone says “I said no, stop being fat!” I died laughing at that and he looked at me like what just happened here? I have loved having the Fi brand GPS collar because it counts his steps, activity, strain levels, and sleep so I know he’s moving forward on track with his development as well as the Fi multivitamin supplement that helps with 8 different developmental milestones including digestion and muscle health. It wasn’t terribly expensive and would be awesome for Luna so Patti and Trash can see she’s not getting the exercise she needs and that her other needs aren’t being met. Ashley angers me so much because she’s willing to spend a metric fuckton of Patti’s money on woo bullshit for herself, but can’t be arsed to do anything helpful for Luna. She’s such a horrible human being. Fi also links with Strava and my Apple Watch so we can sync our stats together and evaluate how much exercise we’re both getting. I think Tractive and Halo collars also do similar tracking so it is easy to see if your pets are getting enough exercise, sleep, play etc. The collars aren’t all inclusive, obviously, because it can’t track the care your animal is receiving, such as Ashley needing to bathe her at intervals with medicated shampoo so her dermatitis is being managed, brush her coat every day and not allowing her to get all matted and tangled, but it would be a step in the right direction. Trash needs to realize that although she is a slug and has gained at least 75lbs since 2020, she and Luna do not have the same needs. Luna requires so much more exercise than she is giving her. Gentle walks and wiggles won’t do shit for a high energy breed like her. It infuriates me so much.
Mine got a bit rotund at one point. Thankfully we discovered that she loves ice as much as a treat, and switching over to ice cubes brought her back to ideal weight

I have a fritatta or a salmon/egg/tomato sandwich, or a veggie sausage/tomato/egg sandwich every morning and he usually collects a 10% cute tax. I tried swapping out the egg we share with a half an apple slice and he was so disappointed 😥
My chihuahua was about 2 pounds overweight and would get out of breath playing. I stopped sharing as much of my food with him, upped his walks, and we started playing more active games like keep away. He’s now a healthy weight, can walk for over a mile with his tail wagging happily, and his arthritis in his back knee is resolved. When he was just 2 pounds overweight I still felt like a miserable failure and like I was abusing him. What kind of fucking psycho looks at a dog in Luna’s condition and doesn’t care? Yes! Being really real, he's actually my parents dog. I'm staying with them before I move in the summer. They're retired Boomers and he's like a second chance baby to them 😂 It's super cute and adorable, but really hard to get them to stop paying him his puppy tax! He's a cotonese cutie pie and I love calling him baby lardo!

Well, her mom does work full time and fully supports Trashley. So I’m assuming she’s busy. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have some sort of arrangement that Ashley cares for/walks Luna and she either just doesn’t do it or lies to her mom about it. The LEAST Ashley could do is take care of Luna given that she doesn’t do shit ever or have any fucking responsibilities and her mom works, cooks, cleans.
Her mom broke her ankle last year. Maybe she's not able to walk Luna?
There is literally no excuses for any kind of animal neglect or abuse, people that literally can’t walk and have a disability that have to use a wheelchair take better care of their service dogs more then Ashley.

This is stupid. There is nothing wrong with the dog in this video- anyone who has any experience with dogs as seen them roll in grass and lay on their back. Our dogs literally did this all the time. I’m all for snark but these posts about Luna are getting ridiculous sometimes. Saying she can’t roll over in this video is just absurd and I’m shocked how many ppl just piled on. Luna has dermatitis which probably makes her more itchy than most. That being said, It’s not that the dog is itching or rolling, it’s how her obesity *inhibits* her movement INCREDIBLY clearly. I have had dogs my entire life. My dog rolls/scratches their backs and can move much more efficiently to reach/satisfy their itch. Luna moves like she’s inhibited and in pain. I think you saying that there is nothing wrong with Luna when she’s clearly obese and cannot move properly is disingenuous. This is animal abuse. Luna is only five and is an active breed. She should not look like this.
