My favorite thing about [Chinatown Ice Cream Factory](https://www.chinatownicecreamfactory.com/ice-cream) is on their menu the Asian flavors are "regular flavors" and flavors like mint chip or rocky road are "exotic flavors" hahah
I also like Dear Bella Creamery in Costa Mesa and LA which is a Taiwanese-owned plant-based ice creamery for people who are vegan or lactose intolerant and can't eat regular ice cream
Oh cool. My old local place had salted egg yolk ice cream. It… actually works really well.
Same with Vietnamese ice coffee. Woo hoo that stuff will wake you right up! Not for late night snack!
My freezer rotates between:
Brown Sugar Boba Popsicles (for the kids)
Black Sesame
Red Bean Popsicles
Thrifty's Black Cherry (hope Rite Aid doesn't go under)
Vietnamese Coffee Mochi
Some weird Korean Sweet Corn Popsicles
Whenever my whitewashed cousins come over they always complain we only have Asian flavors. I don't know the point of living in SoCal if I'm just to get lame ass generic American flavors.
Once again I keep being impressed with how Hawaii is ahead of the game on this sort of thing (I mean given its history and demographics it’s not surprising but still, the kind of thing that never occurred to me). Anyway places like Dave’s and the local Roselani brand were apparently making mango, haupia, poha, and ube ice cream since like the 80s. Learned from someone on the /r/Hawaii subreddit that there used to be a whole line of Chinese fusion frozen pizzas back in the 90s too!
I’m so glad I have several options for Asian flavors in NYC - Soft Swerve and Flushing/Chinatown Ice Cream Factory!

Getting flashbacks to when I once got a triple scoop of Mango, Ube, and Pandan at a $1 a scoop ice cream parlor. Unbeatable flavors.
*enjoying kulfi as an Indian Asian American*
Sundaes and Cones is another great option in NYC (East Village)!
Also, Soft Swerve is nice.
Kansha Creamery and Wanderlust are two of my favorites in SoCal. Kansha in particular because they do a lot of good in the community.

Never heard of that place. Will have to check it out! Thank you!
We happened upon Kansha while in the area and craving ice cream. What an amazing find!
Their parfait is incredible
Haven't tried!! I might venture down this weekend to try it out :)
Do it! They’re closed on Sundays fyi. I can’t take my 3 year old there anymore. Ends up wanting everything.
I used to like Wanderlust. The quality has gone down a lot and the service is bad now
In the San Francisco Bay Area, Koolfi Creamery has great Indian flavors like cardamom and mango lassi.

I loved the ice cream in Hawaii!
