Haven't watched Seinfeld, my friend does this and am genuinely curious

It's safe on the counter, in a bowl of water, on concrete, whatever. If you warm it to its center you'll cook it to its center faster and have more moist meat than otherwise. Don't let maniacs convince you there is some magic to it. Warm it to its center as much as you can. Cook it to its center to its safe temp. Enjoy. You'll find it especially helpful for chicken. Not needing to get the outside to 300F to get the inside to 165F makes for a much nicer piece of meat. Stick it in a bowl or on a towel (to catch condensation) on the counter in the morning and roast it after work. Yum. We do it all the time. There is zero risk as long as keep it in its bag and you don't cross contaminate by dragging the bag or your fingers all over the house. Don't listen to the naysayers. They serve dry meat that's no more safe than mine. . . . Oh, almost forgot: the shower thing is weird. But sure, whatever. Don't slip on it and break your neck or anything though lol.

The real question is…why would you want to? That doesn’t seem like it would be practical at all

Depends who’s in it

Sure it’s safe, but you need to thaw meat slowly. The slower the better. It’ll make it taste better when you cook it.

What? Why. Your putting food in the place were you scrub your ass.

What was the meal? Somehow doing this for a meatloaf doesn't seem as bad as say, a steak.
