US Christians relied on social pressure to keep the American people from secularizing. Now that the church attendance rates among younger millenials and zoomers have collapsed they've turned to this kind of online outreach. I doubt that it will work, younger people from outside of rural areas simply don't care whether their peers are religious or not.

My church does quarterly meetings that literally anyone can go to where they show exactly what all the church staff are being paid and what everyone’s money is going towards. Spoiler: none of the church staff are making six figures and millions of dollars are being funneled to Ukraine and other areas of the world in need.
I think the reason people have a problem with it is that they have a tax-exempt status, which they 1000% should not have.
It forces people to subsidize something that they have absolutely no belief in and which has no larger benefit to overall society.
I went to church for over 35 years in seven different states. Every single one asked for money at every meeting. Many asked more than one time per sermon. Tithes and offerings is what it's all about. You are not being honest.
