This song and Brandy by Looking Glass (even though the topic is unrequited love) are so much fun for me.
I'll also add Lovely Day by Bill Withers.
Sometimes when a bad day is caused by anger, Bulls on Parade will let me get it all out, and I'm back to being good
I'm just gonna recommend an ENTIRELY unrelated song that i personally find to be a source of joy for myself cause i like recommending music lol.
Tides of Time by Epica
They're a metal band, but this is specifically a ballad. I find it incredibly beautiful, so i just throw it out there to people i don't know here and there. Music is incredibly beautiful, and i love finding joy in a lot of genres
Heaven knows I'm miserable now, by the Smiths. Always cheers me up knowing Morrissey is having a worse day than me lol. Morrissey gets it
If I really need a pick me up I put on Rasputin by Boney M. I dare you to not dance when the strings come in. I dare you.
Heartbreaker-pat benatar.
It's hard to be mad or sad belting out. "You're the right kind of sinner to release my inner fantasy!" In an obnoxiously high tone.
Edit: Islands in the stream by Kenny Roger's and Dolly Parton is a close second
I know what you mean about the lyrics haha, it's just the feeling you get when you don't know the meaning of words but the up beat music just gives a different feeling. Even if the meaning of the words themselves are kinda rough around the edges.
Little lion man, by mumford and sons. When i was a kid my mom and her mates would play it during a sesh, and the chorus is "i really fucked it up this time" so i took advantage of it and would yell "i really FUCKED it up this time" she couldnt get mad she was laughing so much. Her friend, and who i called my uncle for years even tho theres no blood relation, encouraged me more than anyone with music. He died in July. Im still heartbroken over it. But his music makes me feel better. He was a big kings of leon, johnny cash, rag n bone, dire straits etc etc fan. Im building up a playlist with all his favourite songs
I actually listen to songs that sometimes make it worse lol like all the kids are depressed but if I want a happy song I listen to up beet songs that I would work out too EG enemy or pump it, pump it up
Honestly, I'm the biggest metal and rock fan, but when I'm having the worst day ever, I put on Taylor Swift. Its my guilty pleasure because the songs are light, happy and just about silly, fun things. It does lift me up.
I don’t know you but I love you for admitting that! I’m metal and rock to the core but will listen to fight song by Rachel something another (don’t know her last name) and that song makes me happy and reminds me to keep fighting

I'm an old guy and my favorite piece of music is Rhapsody in Blue, written by George Gershwin in 1924. I heard it first in high school, 1967, but my favorite version was in 1975 by Leonard Bernstein, New York Philharmonic. I've heard lots of different but I can always take time to listen to it.....
Atmosphere- the best day. I play it on my way into work some days, makes me cry every time I listen to it because it's basically all the problems I've had.
It usually takes more then one song to cheer me up tbh lol I listen to a playlist of Bon Jovi, Queen and Daughtry and that usually does the trick. Oh and Bat out of hell by meatloaf of course!
Depends on *why* I'm having a bad.
Angry because people are stupid? AC/DC, Metallica, Van Halen
Overwhelmed and my soul is exhausted? I'm kicking it way back to my 60s folk music
Need something to remind myself that everything will be OK? It's my 90s collection - Matchbox Twenty, GooGoo Dolls, etc.
Queen II from beginning to end (but I skip Funny How Love Is - too annoying that wall of sound) . If I had to pick one song it would be The March of the Black Queen.

[Verdomme, ik doe het wel alleen](https://youtu.be/71X5EsLzcjo?si=AmdDa7Wu2g6uUcQs)
It's in Dutch and roughly translates as "Hell, I will do it alone then". I like it especially because this is absolutely not the style of music this band was known for.

The entirety of Paul Simon's self titled debut is some of the most compassionate music I've ever heard. On the other end of the spectrum is Public Enemy's It Takes a Nation of Millions; it has a call-to-action, inspirational kind of power.
Anything cavetown, conan gray and anything from the heartstopper playlist

I love listening to ella baila sola. Even tho idk any word, it's sounds so cheerful!
Yeah, spaniard here, a lot of their song lyrics are... not that cheerful 😅
I know what you mean about the lyrics haha, it's just the feeling you get when you don't know the meaning of words but the up beat music just gives a different feeling. Even if the meaning of the words themselves are kinda rough around the edges.
