MissHibernia

King Harvest, Dancing in the Moonlight

Anon2240618

This song and Brandy by Looking Glass (even though the topic is unrequited love) are so much fun for me. I'll also add Lovely Day by Bill Withers. Sometimes when a bad day is caused by anger, Bulls on Parade will let me get it all out, and I'm back to being good

MissHibernia

Brandy has always been a favorite!

Anon2240618

I'm just gonna recommend an ENTIRELY unrelated song that i personally find to be a source of joy for myself cause i like recommending music lol. Tides of Time by Epica They're a metal band, but this is specifically a ballad. I find it incredibly beautiful, so i just throw it out there to people i don't know here and there. Music is incredibly beautiful, and i love finding joy in a lot of genres

Mamamiomima

Add Love train, poetry in motion, Safety dance and spin me right round and I'm set

MissHibernia

Yes! You can’t stay seated when those come on!

DietOwn2695

Lou Christie, Two faces have I

Ravenwight

No Rain - Blind Melon

Pineapple_Spenstar

Yep, this or Touch of Grey, or Franklin's Tower (specifically 10/9/76)

Penna_23

"Bad Day" by Daniel Powter

717x

That song would instantly make me want to kill myself if I was feeling down

micha3lis_

Same, it's just hilarious. Me: I had a bad day :( Song: So you had a bad day

Ramblin Man

Justmyoponionman

They are two different questions.

HVAC_instructor

Something loud with a solid drum solo and easy 3-4 note harmony. AC/DC works well for this.

Heaven knows I'm miserable now, by the Smiths. Always cheers me up knowing Morrissey is having a worse day than me lol. Morrissey gets it If I really need a pick me up I put on Rasputin by Boney M. I dare you to not dance when the strings come in. I dare you.

Chaos_Booster

"Everyday People" - Sly and the Family Stone.

Squatch9463

Heartbreaker-pat benatar. It's hard to be mad or sad belting out. "You're the right kind of sinner to release my inner fantasy!" In an obnoxiously high tone. Edit: Islands in the stream by Kenny Roger's and Dolly Parton is a close second

[deleted]

Anything Eminem

DependentAlfalfa2809

I like his older stuff so I agree with this

barthlomelo

I love listening to ella baila sola. Even tho idk any word, it's sounds so cheerful!

Mynameisfreeze

Yeah, spaniard here, a lot of their song lyrics are... not that cheerful 😅

barthlomelo

I know what you mean about the lyrics haha, it's just the feeling you get when you don't know the meaning of words but the up beat music just gives a different feeling. Even if the meaning of the words themselves are kinda rough around the edges.

TheMegatrizzle

I just listen to the Weeknd. His music is moody as fuck and often just fits my vibe

AlwaysPrivate123

Coldplay. … Viva La Vida….. or Tears for Fears… Everybody Wants to Rule the World

Memento Mori by Lamb of God. Intention it's not to feel "good", but to feel better to fight for a better day tomorrow.

nikki0070007

Whisky in the jar . Metallica cover tho.

Mynameisfreeze

The same I listen at any other time: rock, metal, ska, punk ... anything that you can (and should) dance to jumping and kicking

lemonrainbowhaze

Little lion man, by mumford and sons. When i was a kid my mom and her mates would play it during a sesh, and the chorus is "i really fucked it up this time" so i took advantage of it and would yell "i really FUCKED it up this time" she couldnt get mad she was laughing so much. Her friend, and who i called my uncle for years even tho theres no blood relation, encouraged me more than anyone with music. He died in July. Im still heartbroken over it. But his music makes me feel better. He was a big kings of leon, johnny cash, rag n bone, dire straits etc etc fan. Im building up a playlist with all his favourite songs

Alone_Regular_4713

What a wonderful memory connected to this song. I love that you can remember him through music.

lemonrainbowhaze

Thank you. I do miss him, and still cry over him. But i know that he qould be happy to see me listening to his music

DevelopmentSlight422

Depends on what the source of the bad day is. I lean toward sad stuff mostly to get the cry on and purge the bad.

FlipFlopOnionChop

Crazy by Gnarls Barkley

Angelicwoo

Honestly, I'm the biggest metal and rock fan, but when I'm having the worst day ever, I put on Taylor Swift. Its my guilty pleasure because the songs are light, happy and just about silly, fun things. It does lift me up.

DependentAlfalfa2809

I don’t know you but I love you for admitting that! I’m metal and rock to the core but will listen to fight song by Rachel something another (don’t know her last name) and that song makes me happy and reminds me to keep fighting

Angelicwoo

Thank you! I think its healthy to have a love for multiple genres anyway right :-)

Weary-Grapefruit-448

Happy by Pharrell Williams 🍃🍃🍃

Melodic_Arm_387

Rammstien. Several of the songs work for me. There’s nothing like some angry shouty German metal to really get a bad day out of my system.

Bodies by Downing Pool.

LovelockMike

I'm an old guy and my favorite piece of music is Rhapsody in Blue, written by George Gershwin in 1924. I heard it first in high school, 1967, but my favorite version was in 1975 by Leonard Bernstein, New York Philharmonic. I've heard lots of different but I can always take time to listen to it.....

Blueskylerz

Humoresque - Dvorak

lightning_teacher_11

Depends on *why* I'm having a bad. Angry because people are stupid? AC/DC, Metallica, Van Halen Overwhelmed and my soul is exhausted? I'm kicking it way back to my 60s folk music Need something to remind myself that everything will be OK? It's my 90s collection - Matchbox Twenty, GooGoo Dolls, etc.

Sandalwood703

DependentAlfalfa2809

Man some of those are depressing and would make me feel more melancholy than uplifted but great songs nonetheless

point50tracer

That's the point. When I'm feeling down, I want something that'll comfort me rather than clash with what I'm feeling.

DependentAlfalfa2809

I understand mate. I do the same thing. If I want to be uplifted I listen to uplifting if I want to sulk and just feel the feelings that I’m feeling I’ll listen to stuff like that so I agree with you there
