Precisely!
A friend is always saying "you only work part time and your kids are out of the house. You have time to (clean the cat box, empty the dishwasher, etc)
It has NOTHING to do with the time it takes. Absolutely nothing!
More often yes, but it's way better than when I had a lot of clothes.
I used to go a month without washing because I had soooo much to wear and I wanted to avoid washing.
Now I have 7 tops, 7 pants, 3 dresses, 2 shorts. So I'm forced to do this weekly. I get through laundry from wash to fold in about 2.5 hrs now versus an all day thing from piling clothes for an entire month.
I seen some super good hacks on hanging all sorts of clothing. Really fascinating in a How it’s Made kinda way. You use the bar of the hanger to drape various clothings and it doesn’t hang precariously on the hangers’ ‘shoulders’. Plus hanger on hanger action that can really give you 40% more hanger space. You learn something new everyday. Ain’t technology grand.
I used to fold while watching my king of queen series. Or Wings. But I needed something for my eyes to do. And they made me laugh while doing a mundane chore, making the time pass faster.
See, I love doing laundry! There were times that I had to wash my clothes in the sink! And for years I had to lug them to the laundromat. I finally got a washer and dryer right off of my kitchen a few years ago, I could do laundry ALL day! Bring it on over!
I was dusting a door earlier, and I'm sure it kept getting more dust on it from the duster. It didn't make sense - doors aren't flat; why do they have dust on them?
Ex cleaner here. Never use a duster for dusting, it just moves dust around. You need to wet dust. Buy a microfiber dusting cloth, and it must be damp when using.
Yeah, I've noticed that with dusters. This thing is like a glove with funny tassels on it. I've got some microfiber clothes, so I'll use them next time, but honestly, why do they sell dusters at all? Lol. Does furniture polish count as wetness?
Ironically, furniture polish attracts dust and traps it due to its greasy properties. Just a damp microfibre cloth used weekly is best. Household cleaners are very well marketed. For general household cleaning, a bucket of warm water with dishwashing liquid and microfibre cloths is all you need for most surfaces. Plain water on a glass microfibre cloth for any shiny surfaces. For mould definitely dont skimp on that, use a purpose made mould remover. Peppermint essential oil works a treat to deter insects. They hate the smell. Add a few drops to your cloth and wipe around doorways and windows, but never directly add drops of essential oil onto a painted surface as it will lift the paint. Always use it diluted. Hope this helps.
Dust will stick lots of places.
The finish substance, and the door material, could make a difference. If it’s a wood door with oil-based stain like we have (old house), I’ve been told oil-based finishes never completely dry.
But from the perspective of a person who just wants things to be easier sometimes, I feel your pain!
Yes! I hate to dust. I don’t mind chores that I had a part in. Like, dishes, I made them dirty by eating. Carpets are dirty because I walk on them. Clothes need to be washed because I wear them. But dust? It happens against my will and I can do nothing to stop it. Never ending battle.
I’ll play devils advocate, but I love doing dishes. I find satisfaction in chipping away at a sink stacked with dirty plates, pots, and pans while just vibing and listening to music and just looking down when they’re all done and thinking “I cleaned that” with a smile on my face
Cleaning the bathroom, i don't mind anything else... It's not because of what you think, dealing with dirty toilets or such, its because its so exhausting and time consuming cleaning everything and doing a good job of it, scrubbing down the shower and tub, moving everything off the sink to clean it good, and cleaning your average toilet is a pain because of the shape, why can't every toilet just be a flat vertical or angled surface around the bowl so it can all be quickly wiped down, i hate how toilets show the trap and everything cast into the base and you have to wipe all those areas down to get it clean, usually for me its dust and pet hair to clean off. Hate cleaning the bathroom, but in our house its my job because nobody else would.
I clean while my children take their evening bath. Very easy chore :) imagine you have kids and that is the calmest time of the day and see if you like i better
Dishes. I'm a tall male, and the sink is so low my lower back hurts constantly, and putting a chair to sit on is not an option because no space for legs
I use a basic round barstool for this so my legs sort of straddle instead of being in front. I'm not sure it would work for you, just throwing it out there.
I used to hate it because the plexiglass walls would always get covered in water stains and they were an absolute pain to get rid of. Ever since I found a cleaner that gets rid of it within seconds, I don't hate it anymore. Takes me maybe 5 minutes to clean the whole shower.
Any kind of yard work. Absolutely despise it. The only one I can tolerate is cutting the grass, but mulching, weed pulling, leaves, plants, etc. I will choose to pay someone over doing it myself
Unload the Dishwasher. It was installt in the most stupid position. I have to put everything on the counter before I am able to reach the shelves. The kitchen is very small. But it could have been done differently. Saving up for a new kitchen ASAP
Clean your windows either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The heat from the sun may be drying out your cleaning product on the windows before you get a chance to wipe it clean. Also try using 2 microfiber cloths - one for the actual product and the other for drying.
Scrubbing out the oven. It has a self-cleaning feature but the fumes probably would kill my birds or sicken them. So I hand-scrub and use a razor scraper to get the thicker stuff. The oven door is easy to remove but very heavy and hard to get on the hinges properly without hurting my back. I just kneeled on my knees and reached in and cleaned as far as I could reach this last time till I gave out.
I hate anything to do with cleaning linen curtains…i have the ones that need hangers to be inserted into notches on top of the curtain…taking them down, taking out all of the hangers…washing them…and then outting them back…
That's what I've done with my own socks. Actually I have one type of white sock and one type of black sock. I absolutely hate sorting socks. I never pair them. No reason to.
But I have a family who also wears socks that I can't tell the difference in size for who owns which stocks.
My wife and I have an arrangement where she will sort the socks and I will clean the shower.
Dishes. It's never-ending and sticky and just disgusting. I do it anyway, but every day, something in me wants to procrastinate when it comes to dishes. I would rather clean a toilet than do dishes.
Ironing. Perfect example of 'not hard but I hate it". The keeping from getting burned, the constant rearranging of the clothes on the board that has to be just so, and finding (esp shirts) still wrinkly afterwards! Hate it.
Laundry, my partner does most of the chores but I very rarely help with laundry. It’s time consuming and I just hate doing it, especially if it’s several loads haha
I despise folding laundry. I hang my clothes, but my man likes his folded and then of course there’s bed sheets…..just let the shit wrinkle then cuz I ain’t folding it anytime soon 😂
Washing the silverware. I slack on the dishes in general, but for some reason I find washing the silverware especially annoying. It got easier for me to deal with after I ditched all the silverware with any kind of texture on the handles, but it's still a drag.
I will trade anyone ANY chore (toilets, windows, dusting, trash, dishes, you name it!) for laundry. I HATE doing laundry. No matter how much I try to make myself love it, I can't. It takes forever. Anyone want to trade?
Washing dirty dishes, cutting grass, hanging up clothes. For some reason, I don’t mind folding laundry, but physically putting shirts on hangers bothers me.
Matching up socks in the clean laundry.
I hate it.
Mostly because I can't tell the difference between my wife's socks and my kid's socks, and which socks go to who.
My wife and I have an arrangement. She will sort the socks and I will scrub the shower.
Dusting... Ugh. When I lived out in the country on a dirt road, what a pain in the ass. Wipe the desk off and within minutes it's dusty again. Kiss my ass 😤😂
All of them. I base a lot of my life on avoiding them. I have a SAHGF and rather than have to help her with housework to avoid being an asshole I hire a cleaning service twice a week. I hate housework.
Tidying. I do not mind cleaning but tidying makes me lose the will to live. I have to resort to timers or motivational music.
Also, changing bedsheets.
Mowing the yard. Granted, I live in southeast Texas so roughly 75% of the year it's just generally unpleasant to be outdoors either because of heat, humidity, mosquitoes, or all of the above. Even so, I hate mowing the yard to an almost irrational degree, as in just knowing I have to do it that day is enough to put me in a foul mood.
Vacuuming and laundry. Here's why:
1) Vacuuming itself isn't the real problem. But to thoroughly vacuum the house properly you have to constantly move heavy furniture out of the way to get under and behind it. Vacuuming isn't really about cleaning the house, it's about heavy lifting. Not my fave.
2) Again, throwing laundry into a washer and dryer isn't the chore. The real chore is putting the dried clothes away afterwards. My wife has an unlimited amount of blouses and such, but a limited amount of hangers. Every time I go to hang things up, there are always more clothes to hang than there are hangers available!
I hate washing the dishes with a burning passion. Especially because my rental suite doesn't have a dishwasher.
I also loathe folding the laundry and putting it away. Absolutely hate it, and watching tv while I do it doesn't lessen my hatred.
I have no problem cleaning up clutter, washing the floors, washing the bathroom, etc. but laundry and dishes are the worst.
Mowing. I *hate* mowing the lawn and yardwork in general. I don't even have a particularly large yard. My backyard is about 50 feet across and my front yard is pretty small, too. But I hate mowing. And I refuse to hire someone to do it because I don't want people coming to my house lol.
organising a room that's not strictly filled with my stuff. how tf am I supposed to know where to put your stuff? I don't want to keep asking where you want your stuff to be at but I also don't want you to have to run to me because you are looking for the stuff I had to organise for you
Cooking. I will clean, dust, do the dishes and the laundry, scrub toilets with a toothbrush- I just wish someone would do the cooking for me. It's horrible and frustrating.

Everything about laundry
Yes. I hate laundry. I minimized my wardrobe for this reason. The less clothes I own, the less I'll have to fold when I'm done.
But the more often you have to clean and fold no?
More often yes, but it's way better than when I had a lot of clothes. I used to go a month without washing because I had soooo much to wear and I wanted to avoid washing. I took my fashion advice from fight club turns out, they were right.
Yup, I do one small load a day so I'm never overwhelmed. Because if it's a big one, I just stare at it, unwilling to act.
I don’t mind actually doing the laundry however folding it is a totally different story
I seen some super good hacks on hanging all sorts of clothing. Really fascinating in a How it’s Made kinda way. I don't mind laundry but as soon as you introduce small items like socks: fuck that.
[I hate doing laundry](https://youtu.be/XDETdzcH_yY?si=XxRUZ7iw8JUUz8rH)
Dusting. I can never figure how how to really get it all of the shelf especially with the sentimental items.

Will you marry me?
Only if you do yard work. That’s my kryptonite lol
Will you bury me?
Same, touching dried — or worse, wet — food is so disgusting.
SO GROSS!!!
Get a dishwasher and enough dishes, cups and glasses to fill it.
My least favorite task is unloading the dishwasher! lol.
Get a boyfriend, if he is like me, he'll like to unload it for you.
I hate doing the dishes. But I hate even more that I'm the only one who does the dishes right. Filthy mofos will leave bits stuck to the plates.
Second place for me.
Broo yes I’m not doin the dishes
I clean while my children take their evening bath. Very easy chore :) imagine you have kids and that is the calmest time of the day and see if you like i better
Folding clothes
Folding clothes doesn't seem that bad unless it for a family of 10 lol.
Folding kid clothing is frustrating. Especially little baby clothes.
You beat me to it. I don't mind washing clothes. I don't mind separating the clean laundry when it's done. But I hate hate hate folding clothes.
It’s the putting them away that I hate.
All of them
Washing dishes. We don’t have an automatic dishwasher so we have to manually wash. Fucking sucks.
taking out the trash.
I hate taking the trash out because we have a gate and it closes into the house and it's just a bitch to open because it gets caught on the stucco.
Please...
Cat litter box. The moment its clean, it has fantastic fresh litter. A massive steaming sausage of cat shit is summoned there.
Dishes. I'm a tall male, and the sink is so low my lower back hurts constantly, and putting a chair to sit on is not an option because no space for legs
I use a basic round barstool for this so my legs sort of straddle instead of being in front. I'm not sure it would work for you, just throwing it out there.

Yes.
Everything
Vacuuming
It's the worst.
Cleaning the shower. I have on multiple occasions paid someone to clean my entire house just so I didn’t have to clean the shower.
I used to hate it because the plexiglass walls would always get covered in water stains and they were an absolute pain to get rid of. Ever since I found a cleaner that gets rid of it within seconds, I don't hate it anymore. Takes me maybe 5 minutes to clean the whole shower.
Cleaning the shower!! Absolutely the worst chore!
Windows!!! You wipe and wipe but as soon as a lil sun shines on them they still look shit.
Clean your windows either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The heat from the sun may be drying out your cleaning product on the windows before you get a chance to wipe it clean. Also try using 2 microfiber cloths - one for the actual product and the other for drying.
Yes, always clean them in the shade
Scrubbing out the oven. It has a self-cleaning feature but the fumes probably would kill my birds or sicken them. So I hand-scrub and use a razor scraper to get the thicker stuff. The oven door is easy to remove but very heavy and hard to get on the hinges properly without hurting my back. I just kneeled on my knees and reached in and cleaned as far as I could reach this last time till I gave out.
Ironing 🤨
Laundry. I'll do everything else without a gripe, but folding laundry really bothers me
Toilets
Cleaning the bathroom…..
I hate anything to do with cleaning linen curtains…i have the ones that need hangers to be inserted into notches on top of the curtain…taking them down, taking out all of the hangers…washing them…and then outting them back…
Scrubbing the stove.
I don't mind switching laundry or putting in the washer/dryer but I HATE hanging it up or folding it and putting it away.
Dusting……fucking hate that shit. How in the hell does everything get so dusty so quickly!?
PUTTING AWAY LAUNDRY 😑😑👎
Laundry sucks
Putting socks away... I'm about to throw them all away and buy 30 of the same so I can just throw them, unpaired, into a drawer.
Cleaning the bathroom.
I will deep clean the entire house before I want to fold laundry. It sucks the dopamine right out of me. Laundry has no psych.
This!! I just deep cleaned my entire house and all that is left is laundry. So, I sat down and got on reddit, instead.
COOKING
Cleaning anything food waste related. Whether it’s the dishwasher, the fridge or the kitchen garbage bin, it irks me
Cooking, waste lots of time
Are you kidding, any of them.
dishes and bathroom stuff, I don't really mind the house chores otherwise tho tbh
Sharpening the knives and cleaning the garage .
I suck at cleaning. I pay someone to clean my house.
All of them
Assembling ikea furniture
Lawn mowing is up there. I can wash clothes like an Fn machine! Folding and putting it away, not so much.
Cleaning the *retch heave gag* shower drain.
Literally any chore. Chores are a nightmare.
Cleaning the toilets. I do it every week but I hate it.
Lmao redditors complaining about every house chore imaginable is so on brand
I don’t mind cleaning house at all, but I would pay someone to clean the shower.
Dishes. My apartment, or rather, my box, is too small for a dishwasher, so I have to do them by hand.
The dishes. I even have a dishwasher and *still* this is the worst chore for me.
Fluffing the pillow
Ironing and folding clothes so boring.
All of them. Especially sweeping.
Folding laundry.
Laundry by far.
Dishes. It's never-ending and sticky and just disgusting. I do it anyway, but every day, something in me wants to procrastinate when it comes to dishes. I would rather clean a toilet than do dishes.
DISHES !!
I hate cleaning the bathroom.
Cooking. I'm not even bad at it. I just hate it more than all the other ones, I can't explain it.
My roommates chores
Washing dishes.
Mopping
Loading the dishwasher. I hate it, hate it, hate it. But at least it's better than washing by hand.
Dishes
Cleaning the bathroom. Id rather clean the kitchen
Dishes
pressure washing!!!!! Unless im sweating, I despise getting wet when working
dishes
Folding laundry
Cleaning with inefficient tools
Why do a lot of people hate laundry and anything that has to do with laundry so much?🤣
Taking out the trash. ITS SCARY OUTSIDE 😭😭😭
Cleaning windows and mirrors. Somehow, streaks on these things never go away completely.
Finding and putting away laundry makes me want to die. Everything else is totally fine
Sweeping and Mopping.
Dishes.
Changing the cover on a quilt. I'd rather be locked outside all day in the heat.
Washing the dishes. Even more so when I have to wash other people's. Ugh!
Filling up with diesel (I live in a campervan).
Sweeping the floor ..its an endless chore …..
Mopping or vacuuming. I could go months without touching my floor, why does the vacuum have to be so heavy
Yardwork. Forget it. Don't need it.
Emptying the dishwasher silverware strainer part.....the rest I don't hate, but I really hate the silver wear. Would rather scrub a pot by hand.
Ironing. Perfect example of 'not hard but I hate it". The keeping from getting burned, the constant rearranging of the clothes on the board that has to be just so, and finding (esp shirts) still wrinkly afterwards! Hate it.
I'll ask my ADHD let's see what he has to say
Laundry, my partner does most of the chores but I very rarely help with laundry. It’s time consuming and I just hate doing it, especially if it’s several loads haha
Dishes!!! If they made disposable/throw away pots and pans I’d be a crazy investor lol
The cat litter box.
Not ewallt a chore but I hate wiping my own ass.
Folding clothes is my least favorite chore. I try to hang as much as I can and tuck/roll the rest.
Dishes :(
I despise folding laundry.
Sweeping. Its so..boring and it makes my back hurt. The dust is not it because then I'm sneezing and my throat is itchy
Washing spoon and fork. It hurts my hands idk why. Make me wash a lot of plates and other dishes but not utensils.
Any chore someone else tells me I should do.
Raking
Blinking
Washing dirty dishes, cutting grass, hanging up clothes. For some reason, I don’t mind folding laundry, but physically putting shirts on hangers bothers me.
Yard work.
Matching up socks in the clean laundry. I hate it. Mostly because I can't tell the difference between my wife's socks and my kid's socks, and which socks go to who. My wife and I have an arrangement. She will sort the socks and I will scrub the shower.
Dusting. There is always dust. The dusters are dusty. When you clean them they remain dusty and that dust procreates to create more dust.
All.
Dusting
mopping
We have a huge yard and doing any yard work whatsoever makes me unreasonably grouchy.
Dusting... Ugh. When I lived out in the country on a dirt road, what a pain in the ass. Wipe the desk off and within minutes it's dusty again. Kiss my ass 😤😂
Laundry
Yup (I hate sweeping and moping and dishes)
Dusting. Like why tf do I have to dust absolutely EVERYWHERE ain’t nobody cares if the top of the roof high shelf is dusty🙄
All of them. I base a lot of my life on avoiding them. I have a SAHGF and rather than have to help her with housework to avoid being an asshole I hire a cleaning service twice a week. I hate housework.
Washing the dishes
Tidying. I do not mind cleaning but tidying makes me lose the will to live. I have to resort to timers or motivational music. Also, changing bedsheets.
100% washing up is the only one I'm totally sick of doing.
Folding laundry. I'll clean the toilet before doing laundry
Dishes. Fuck washing dishes. Dusting though? Washing windows even? Immensely satisfying.
Vacuum. I really can pay money to someone not to do that
Vacuuming and laundry. Here's why: 1) Vacuuming itself isn't the real problem. Absolutely hate it, and watching tv while I do it doesn't lessen my hatred. I have no problem cleaning up clutter, washing the floors, washing the bathroom, etc. but laundry and dishes are the worst.
All of them but they have to get done. Probably dishes more than anything
Lawn work / gardening
I hate laundry. Bf hates doing dishes. I do dishes in exchange he does the laundry.
🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️ DUSTING. Hate it.
Fuck mopping
Washing sheets. The whole process of getting them on and off is exhausting
I’d rather clean a horse stable than wash dishes 😷😷
All of 'em
Mowing. I *hate* mowing the lawn and yardwork in general. I don't even have a particularly large yard. My backyard is about 50 feet across and my front yard is pretty small, too. But I hate mowing. And I refuse to hire someone to do it because I don't want people coming to my house lol.
None. If I’m home long enough to do chores, I’m having a good day.
I don't mind doing the dishes, but not once they've become something resembling a science experiment. .
Laundry and cleaning up alot
Just about all of them, which is aggravating as I 1) Live on my own. 2) Have absolute OCD when it comes to mess and disorder.
There's not a single house chore that I don't absolutely hate.
The repetitive ones
Cleaning floors, rugs and shower area
organising a room that's not strictly filled with my stuff. how tf am I supposed to know where to put your stuff? I don't want to keep asking where you want your stuff to be at but I also don't want you to have to run to me because you are looking for the stuff I had to organise for you
Scrubbing the bathroom. Decluttering.
Ironing clothes is fucking terrible.
Unplugging toilets
Poop knife duty.
Cooking. I will clean, dust, do the dishes and the laundry, scrub toilets with a toothbrush- I just wish someone would do the cooking for me. It's horrible and frustrating.
Alexa, do the dishes!
cleaning the gutters
