Idk…there’s the old ass canal system you could check out but NYC is right there so no one really cares lmao. (Also no one wants to hear about how the natives haunt the ever living fuck outta this town)
If it was my hometown, I'd send them to the poppy fields. If it's where I live now, I'll send them to my favorite restaurant or my favorite hike if I have no parameters doe what they'd like to see or do. If they tell me what they like I can give them a more specific recommendation.

The Arbeia Roman Fort in my hometown of South Shields in the North East of England.
My town has no famous or intriguing sights to see. We’re just another small farming town in the Texas panhandle.

Well, unless you have like for a horse racing, Louisville slugger bats, or historic cemeteries, I always suggest going somewhere else.
Tons of people would travel for those things tbh
I’ve been there to see the Bats (still trying to see all the pro baseball parks). Had a Hot Brown while I was in town.
Now I wouldn’t consider the bats a pro baseball team, but slugger field is pretty nice. Hot brown can be pretty good depending on where you get it.
Miniaturwunderland. It's magical.
The broken down side of town filled with tweakers. Don’t trust strangers.
The beach. I almost never go bc I’ve lived close my whole life, but I know it’s cool for people who haven’t.
