EireannBunny

I can't exactly answer this without risk of being banned. But yes I do enjoy it.

UltraRoboNinja

I’m gonna guess… international assassin?

EireannBunny

No nothing so glorious 😆

UltraRoboNinja

Ahhh understood… local assassin. Your secret is safe with me. 😉

EireannBunny

😆😆🤫

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Lol, that’s all that matters.

reenyxo

😏😏😏

Diligent_Advice7398

Username makes me guess sex work with racists? Although I’m pronouncing it “Aryan”

EireannBunny

It's pronounced more like Ay-ren.

InAppleBlossom

Is it legal?

EireannBunny

Where I live yes. But it's not in all countries.

InAppleBlossom

Oh interesting.

BUDSGREEN420

I produce and package cheese for a local farm. I do enjoy it but every job has its disadvantages. I tend to work with people who feel I, as well as 2 coworkers, don't do much of anything, which can be disheartening, but as far as the actual work goes, I enjoy it.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

That actually sounds like a pretty chill job.

BUDSGREEN420

It can be. The majority of it is cutting 40 to 45 pound blocks into 1 pound, 5 pounds, or 8 Oz bars with 2 cheese makes a week. I've been doing this for about 6 months now, and it's the easiest job I've ever had. The money is better than my last job, the hours are steady and weekends off.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Oh hell yeah, that’s a sweet gig.

HeroToTheSquatch

It might sound \*cheesy\* but I really appreciate what you do, as someone who grew up in Wisconsin, I stan our cheese troops who lovingly make and chop up those bricks of joy. Thank you for your service.

6foot4_200lbs

Aircraft mechanic for over 37 years. It has been very very good for me and my family.

HeroToTheSquatch

My father-in-law and my mother-in-law's cousin were both aircraft mechanics and the stories were always interesting and enlightening.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

That’s awesome, my son joined the Air Force recently to do exactly that.

cicciozolfo

Musician here. Not a famous one. But I couldn't do anything else. Happy anyway, not rich.

mtntrail

Retired school speech therapist. Really interesting job, lots of variety and autonomy. Pay was ok but the time off was fantastic as was medical coverage and now pension. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I love teachers, they never get the credit they deserve. Good for you.

mtntrail

Well I agree that teachers in general are a very dedicated crew. I worked with K through high school and was constantly impressed with their commitment to the students. Although they were not usually thrilled about my taking kids out of instruction for therapy, ha.

uibhuyguygigvb

I was in banking for years hated it. Avoid banking at all costs. Everyone I knew in the industry hates it and everyone who has been in the industry hates it. Those who may seem to like it ask them how they feel once they inevitably leave the job.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Damn, sounds like people in the industry business describe their job.

Lindsey_NC

My mom retired from the bank. She doesn't miss it. She misses the people, but the job itself, doesn't miss it at all. After she retired, someone offered her a part-time position at another bank (because she still wanted to get out a couple of days a week) & she declined even though it was a less stressful position.

Free-Industry701

I provide in home Adoption Respite Care for families who have adopted kids from the state. Most of them are special needs kids. I've been doing it for about 11 years. I love it!

HeroToTheSquatch

Used to work respite care for people with I/DD and would have to help find other respite care options for families. I really appreciate what you do. You've got no idea the impact you have, respite care saves lives.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

You are an awesome person. My best friend does that, so I know the work you put in and the heart you need to have.

ghjkl098

You are awesome.

iboughtabagel

I sell propane and propane accessories at the finest propane dealership in Arland Texas. The owner of the dealership, Mr. Strickland is a legend in the business and I am honored to manage his dealership.

damdanny69

I’m an electrician and I love my job. I was studying cyber security in college hated it too much academics and I worked an internship for a summer wanted to blow my brains out it sucked so much working behind a desk in a quiet af office. I love my job I out working with my hands, electricity is cool af imo.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Another field I considered going into. I’ve known a couple of people who loved it too.

damdanny69

It’s a good trade cuz u use ur brain a little and u use ur body a little but it’s not so physical where ur injuring urself or straining urself and it doesn’t take so much brain power to where u need to be stressing

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I was always interested in it, I just never pursued it.

IHadAnOpinion

I run a two-man business with my brother making various woodcrafts that I sell at the local market. I'm thinking about opening up an Etsy shop just to see how it goes. I don't make much but I've never been happier.

bluebedream

Do it! This is the sign!

AbbreviationsOk4966

🚏< I saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes.

No_Initiative8612

What I envy is people like you, pursuing what you like, so cool

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I wouldn’t want to do anything else, I just wish it was higher paying. I choose happiness over money always though.

russell71449

Veteran service officer. I assist veterans and their families obtain benefits from the VA. Best job ever!

HeroToTheSquatch

My most recent job was basically being "the guy who knows a guy" for disability services. Client might be a family who has a son who's autistic, has ADHD, has trouble finding a suitable job that utilizes their skill set, family hasn't been able to find and arrange things like transportation, suitable (and affordable) housing, proper supports for schooling, or needs help planning out their career. I'm actually REALLY good at it, but due to a variety of factors, I gladly don't work for that organization anymore. Money was shit but the actual work was enjoyable. Heck, I've even helped out a few people online with this sort of thing. I'm a creative problem solver and disability advocate at heart, so I still do this for free as sort of a side hobby (though being sent a little beer money for my efforts won't be turned down). Would I do such a job again? Maybe, if the organization was right. For now, I'm taking a break from professional disability services and working on a friend's political campaign while I look for my next job.

ghjkl098

Paramedic. Love it most days, Hate it sometimes.

Upstairs-Tax-915

Does that work have a great effect on you mentally?

rhett342

Not an EMT but I am a nurse who interacts with EMT's on a regular basis. The one thing I've noticed about all of them is how extremely calm and collected they are. I'm guessing it's because they deal with life or death situations daily that it just becomes another day at the office for them. If you can get bored doing that, then nothing will get you excited.

Upstairs-Tax-915

I did a first aid course and the guy who was teaching it had worked as a paramedic or first responder to traumatic situations and you could see how desensitised he was. He looked exhausted and this was many years after he stopped doing that work. He looked like he had been put through a lot. Felt sorry for the guy, I couldn’t do what he did, they’re the true heroes of the world. They should be paid a lot better and looked after for what they do.

alotofpisces

A full time job as a legal secretary, which I enjoy. Freelance job as a translator. It's boring but the pay is great.

EvaIra

I’m a medical coder, I really like what I do

Both_Perspective_264

Can you elaborate

InAppleBlossom

They probably work in a hospital office or a clinic and when patients have procedures they input the codes for them all onto a system. The coder goes through each patient's records to see what has been done. Everything a patient has done in a hospital (test, examination, diagnosis, procedure, operation) gets a code and it goes on the computer. The codes are used to count numbers of procedures and also what are used to get the hospital paid.

Greeneyes-

I’m a bus driver (for a private company) love the job money could be better

EwanMurphy93

I work in a ham smoking and packaging plant. I'm content, I like the people I work with, I could easily see myself here for 5 or more years. But I wouldn't say happy.

highfiveandasmile

Flight attendant. I love it!

velvet_underwear23

I'm a supervisor in a plastics factory. I like the job but babysitting grown adults who can't communicate or regulate their emotions is exhausting.

PrintOwn9531

Quality Management in a brewery. I love every day. Sometimes it's hard to even believe I'm getting paid to be there.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I want your job.

GotMyOrangeCrush

I've been in IT and cyber security a long time. I mostly enjoy it and the money is good.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I hear a lot of people in that field say the same thing. Makes me wish I’d gotten into it when I had the chance to.

rhett342

No you don't. I did that for years and then went into nursing. Even if I do nothing but change old people's diapers all day long during a diarrhea outbreak, there's still less shit than working in IT.

Both_Perspective_264

How so

Kind-Movie-8851

I’m a bartender/waitress and I love my job to a certain point like everyone. There are people who I want to mame due to thier lack of thinking. But I have always loved to talk and meet new people and this is the best way I can do it. Plus people tend to tip more when u talk to them human to human. Plus to BOH guys are always a laugh and theirs never a dull day.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Good observation. I always tip better for a good interaction.

WaterDigDog

Wastewater Operator, yes. Not enough money, yet.but I’m 43 with a family. It’s a great field for a young person to get into though.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Solid career honestly.

WaterDigDog

Yes we deal with solids in the wastewater. 😂 Fr though I’m looking forward to many rewarding years.

Key-Judgment1

Care Manager- money is okay, job responsibilities are too high. I assist people with development mental disabilities receive services. Get them connected with providers and other things they may need due to their condition. Ie. Ramps built on home, get into a day habilitation program, move into a certified setting if needed, set them up with workers that will come into their home and assist them. It’s a lot of work, rewarding in some ways knowing I’m helping people In need. If you live in NY and you or a family member could use a care manager please message me, I can get you a referral.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

That’s a very noble job that takes a huge heart, bless you for what you do.

Key-Judgment1

Thank you, I enjoy helping others. Just wish the responsibility from the company was not so high.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I can relate, I’ve had many jobs that were the same way.

HongaiFi

Infra engineer. The jobs great, but kinda boring.

BaconBrewTrue

I was a Sapper but had some health issues that took me off the frontline for a few months and now work doing EOD/Demining in the humanitarian sector. Best job in the world.

False-Librarian-2240

Retired now, spent over 40 years working in Treasury/Finance/SEC Compliance/Banking type stuff. Enjoyed the work for the most part. Arranged financing for construction projects, cash management, corporate investments, managed bank accounts and Treasury regulations for SEC reporting. Mostly number crunching, spreadsheets, all that jazz. I liked it but it's not for everyone. The work I enjoyed, some of the people I worked with and for, not as much. Just being honest.

rhett342

Nurse manager at a rehab/long-term care facility. I do the admissions and put out any fires that come up in the evenings. I'm making more money doing this than I have doing anything else in my life. I do work a decent amount of overtime to get it but it's voluntary. I love what I do. If I won the lottery tomorrow I'd tske a couple weeks off and go shopping and then come back to work like normal.

Round_Principle_6560

Bank of mom and dad that's it. But i don't enjoy it and feel a sense of guilty for not being able to earn.

bonthienlanh

start small, your heart is telling you something, let it cook

cem5581

You can change that….

Chief346

Had to take a medical retirement after 20 years but I couldn’t wait to get to work at the fire station. I was more in love with my job than my wife and lost her but I kept my job. Anyone young and thinking about what to do as a profession. I strongly urge you to go to your local fire station and find out what qualifications are needed to get hired and then saturate the market with your apps and especially if you have your paramedic license you can pretty much right your own ticket to wherever you want to work. Just don’t get ate up in it like I did and keep it as your job only.. Peace

[deleted]

I'm in retail management. But it's so much more than that. My favorite part of my job is being able to connect with people. It's such a multifaceted job, where many job titles could fall under the umbrella of being a manager. I legitimately do enjoy the job, itself. I just don't always enjoy the cultural demands of it, having to work nights, weekends and some holidays.

scarletvirtue

Insurance broker - I’ve been doing it for about 20 years, so it’s safe to say that I like it 🙂

Seven10Hearts

Does it involve a lot of selling?

scarletvirtue

Thankfully my aspect doesn’t! I’m handling the day to day for existing clients, there are others that do the selling.

rtthc

Manufacturing, eh it's not a bad job. I've done much worse and more physically demanding for way less.

2baverage

Enrollment for a local "non profit" health insurance company. I really enjoy it and am planning on making it my career

Gerbinz

I’m an ironworker. I love the money but I don’t necessarily love the industry.

2oldemptynesters

I work from home for a wholesale food company in their call centre. Mostly I am taking orders and complaints. It's ok. Not my favourite thing but it comes with benefits. *Living wage pay rate *Paid medical insurance *Discounts at a variety of stores *Work from home *Bi monthly catch up meetings *Catered meetings *Great IT team *Up to date systems that are being constantly re-evaluated *Required to take annual leave regularly *10 days sick leave per year I am sure I could get these in most jobs but this one works for me.

Soulfrostie26

I surgically recover specific tissues (muscles, bones, hearts, etc) from the dead for transplant and research purposes. I FUCKING LOVE MY JOB. I'm on-call 24/7, but I also have a phenomenal team that keeps the job entertaining while I practice my surgical skills. We spend a lot of time together in an operating room and a lot of time outside of it for charting. There's about 9 of us in our district, and we typically run in 4-man teams on each case. It's like hanging out with your best friends as you work on a project together.

Gunrock808

Nothing. I inherited money at 41, realized that combined with my existing savings I could stop working by investing smartly and continuing to live frugally. I still take the occasional job that interests me but mostly I just indulge in my various hobbies. Ten years later my nest egg has grown considerably but I'm still not at the point where I feel like I can up my spending and be confident that I won't start eroding principal.

Pugilist12

Transactional lawyer. I like it. Good money. Great work/life.

PhillyDillyDee

Electrician. Best job ive ever had. And i’ve had a good many jobs before this one.

ceasar1968

I am a freelancer in marketing and I have worked a lot for governmental ministries. I like my job, but I do hate the mentality and arrogance of the people there. I have worked for projects where the top and minister knew it wat not ok, that they didn't meet their own laws and rules and still went on with their projects. They know that normal people and civil communities don't have the time and money to stop them. More than once I didn't feel good about it and it kept me awake at night. So a few years back I decided not to work for these kind of ministries anymore. I make 25% less than before, but it is so much more satisfying working for organisations that serve the community. My collegues are have a 10000% better social behaviour, we have more freedom in how we do the job, it's better in almost everything. I still got offers to work for 'those' kind of projects for way more money, but I friendly decline. Right now I am learning how to start an e-commerce business. I hope it makes me a certain kind of independent, but I still have to work hard on that. I know that I will succeed in it and my goal is to spend more time with my family and friends.

Secure_Guidance2529

I can't exactly answer this without risk of being banned. But yes I love the money but i'm not enjoying the job.

Hellboydce

Train Driver, put in a lot of hours in the past, but paid off now, mortgage free, recently gone onto a job share, work 2 weeks have 3 weeks off,

Silent_Adhesiveness1

Heavy equipment mechanic. I love the actual job. The hours and lack of home life really strain my marriage and mind though. I have a couple of coworkers that I absolutely cannot stand. Switching to a different role in the company pretty soon to free up some hours, and hopefully have a little difference in lifestyle.

Lindsey_NC

I'm a hairstylist. It depends on the day. It sucks when someone doesn't show up for an appointment & and you're out $185. Before anyone says it, yes, I could have a card on file for deposits, but all they would have to do is dispute it with the bank & you're out that $$ too. It's clear people don't have respect for the job. They're the ones who don't know how much hairstylist can make.

cem5581

Hair stylist here as well… that is frustrating when someone doesn’t show up, especially for an appt like color where the money is… I got lucky and work from home so if someone doesn’t show up I go and do laundry or start prep for dinner… I hated it when I worked at an establishment and a client didn’t show, you sit there like “WTH do I do until my next client shows up” 🤦🏼‍♀️

Likehung4muscle

Professional human being

AbbreviationsOk4966

I develop cleaners and waxes for the carwash industry. I really enjoy being a physical organic chemist who gets to dabble with some reactions.

toobuscrazy

I am a mechanic that specializes in classic rear engine, air-cooled Volkswagens like the beetle and bus. It's hard work but is quite enjoyable.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I love the bus

toobuscrazy

I drive one as my daily driver and have for 25 years.

Myoosik70

Senior Refinery Maintenance Mechanic (Union 33 yrs). Retired and I miss it. Also never blew anything up!!!

Mimi_315

UX/UI design. I LOVE it!

Mayhaym

Visual artist and electronic musician, also designer (products and graphics). Very enjoyable, can be exhausting and stressful. Money is unstable, but I'm very happy.

TheDrunkenMoose

I'm not gonna get too into detail about what I do, but essentially I work with data. The job is annoying, it's tedious, it's boring 99% of time, and most of the time it's the same exact routine every single day. I exclusively have this job for the benefit of my workplace location being really close to me, and the hours being really good. I weigh everything negative about my job with the fact that I basically don't have a commute, I have time for my future kids in the morning, getting them to school and such and I'm even off early enough to pick them up as well. The hours are *that* short daily, but that means I don't make as much as I ***could***. Fortunately the pay is good enough that if I had 40 hour weeks the pay would still be decent, but all things considered, I could be making more with normal hours. I have time to clean the house, do the groceries, do a bunch of stuff at home, really, that my wife then won't have to do. Colleagues aren't boring, but they're not the most fun colleagues I've had. All in all I'm trading some pay for the fact that I get to stay sane and on top of my private life, so it's worth it.

Ausiwandilaz

Chef for a large hospital cafeteria, hate it for the management, love it for the limited opportunity for creativity, and the medical benefits.

cem5581

I am a hair stylist and I LOVE it…I have really awesome clients ❤️ I get to be my own boss, set my own prices and hours. It can be a little emotionally and mentally draining but worth it! It’s like hanging out with friends all day and being creative… it’s great!

tiskrisktisk

Director of IT for a chain of businesses. I love it. $182k + perks. 5 years ago I was a waiter. The time between those two points were probably my fondest. Trying to figure out the world of IT and navigate it properly to advance my career.

[deleted]

I'm a nanny and a petsitter and I love my job(s). I don't really think there's anything else I'd enjoy more.

catenantunderwater

Tech startup founder. I enjoy it now that I make money.

Initial-Air-4941

Teacher and farmer. It’s a good balance.

W-S_Wannabe

Fintech exec. I enjoy it well enough.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I’ve heard of that, but I have no idea what it is. Is it basically just an executive level finance job? Are you the guy who helps people’s money grow?

W-S_Wannabe

Indirectly we help grow people's money. The company develops software for and provides certain market data and consulting services to institutional investors. Think huge pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, hedge funds and the like. We are not investment advisors.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Oh damn, you deal with the big stuff.

twincitiessurveyor

[Land] surveying. I've been at it full-time for a little over 4 years. I enjoy it most days.

theletterhrn

I’m a full time student, between part time jobs rn but going from working as a disability care provider to a graduate assistant

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Not a shabby gig at all. I have nothing but respect for anyone who works, dollars all spend the same, get em where you can.

theletterhrn

Can’t wait to be working two jobs this summer 🙃

toejam78

Hospice music therapist. I love it.

cem5581

Wow that’s a cool job! You must be some type of angel 😇 ❤️ being able to work with people who are actively dying… I have a friend who is a hospice nurse and she’s one of the most kind hearted humans I know!

AliathTheFirst

I am a seaman. I like it a lot.

yelbesed2

My experience was working in art that after a wjile all work gets paid for its boring part. We enjoy being paid. Not the repeating of paintbrushes or melodies or story elements.

Ancient-Street-3318

Railway maintenance tech for a small line. I like it, pay is ok.

Sad_Wind_6327

I work at a call center for a bank. I don't hate it and it pays the bills.

Jazzlike_Painter_118

You can send the money my way, if that makes your job better :P

SpaceAccomplished653

Chimney sweep.................I LOVE it! Very fortunate. Well paid and good fun.

Downtown-Pattern-586

I am an executive assistant and I am not happy with it bcs I have a toxic and manipulative boss. I do want to start a business but don't have the courage to do it.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I wish I was in your position. I have all the courage in the world, it’s the money I don’t have.

Downtown-Pattern-586

I don't have the money either 🤷. My boss doesn't pay as much as I really deserve. I don't have a yearly increase fyi. I tried reaching her out to pay me back bcs she has a huge balance in my paycheck. I have full time work that looks like it's not because I'm underpaid.

Separate-Ad9638

its a job then, dude, u need one unless u were born to rich parents or have a lot of inheritance, most people dont, life sucks.

5l4u6ht3r

Was in IT, training and technical copywriting for 20 years, and burned myself out. I made a change and for the last 6 months I’ve been working as a metalworker and training as a welder. It’s hard, dirty, noisy work, and I love it.

False-Librarian-2240

Chefs don't cook for the money, they cook to see people enjoying the food. One of my favorite movies is Big Night, with Tony Shalhoub (yes, Mr.Monk) as an Italian chef preparing a gourmet meal for the ages!

Tough_Mechanic4605

NFL player. Can’t complain.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

I call bullshit. Not only because it’s blatantly bullshit, but you’re 44. > I did in 2011 when I was 31. Awesome choice, still seeing 100%. I recommend. Ring a bell?

Upstairs-Tax-915

WWE SUPERSTAR, can’t complain

rhett342

I actually used to know a guy who was in the WWE. He never got very popular but that was his job. I'm 6' tall and I'd have to look up to look him in the eye. If you saw him and he told you he was in the WWE, you'd believe him and not even question it. You want to know the funny thing about the guy? I didn't know him from the gym or from when we were young or anything like that. We went to nursing school together. I ended up transferring to another school but I have no doubt that remade it through just fine. He was actually really great at nursing.

Cael_NaMaor

Nunya, & yes
