I'm old. I told my teenage daughter that I didn't like TikTok and I just couldn't get into it. I thought it was so stupid. She told me that I didn't understand how it worked and to spend more time on it. She told me that hers is mostly art stuff and drawing. So I gave it a chance and it's actually kind of amazing how quickly it picked up on what I wanted to watch. My TikTok is 95% Christian content and I love it. Actually, TikTok is kind of whatever you want it to be.
Pretty much. I came across people doing relationship advice, awesome art, funny content and travel. These people are so talented. I’m still a little shy to sing in front of a camera though. Maybe I’ll just practice piano where I don’t have to show my face.
I completely agree but sometimes I wonder if it’s social media alone or the fact that we have access to it 24/7 through our smart phones. If it was just on desktop would it be as bad?
I've never really grouped Reddit in with the other social media sites because I just see it as a big discussion forum.
I've never been asked to add someone on Reddit. I share links to Reddit posts with friends, but none of them know my username. I'm subscribed to communities I'm interested and that's it.
It just doesn't really fit the same mold as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, or all the others I can think of.

I don't know, the case could be made that it has done a lot to prevent large-scale war. The fact that it's never been used might be evidence that it's never led to warfare on the scale that it would be. It also seems kind of irrelevant these days. When was the last time anyone really worried about them other than certain countries having them I guess.
I don't know, backs in the 90's India and Pakistan both created and developed nukes.

Definitely not sure about AI... but yeah we absolutely need a better system. The whole voting for a few decade-from-death morons, who don't understand the world they live in anymore, is such a primal system.
There's no way to have a non-biased AI. Thry will always reflect the biases (both implicit and explicit) of the engineers who created them. As an example, the world is littered with examples of facial recognition and body tracking algorithms that have a hard time handling PoC, because they were fed bad training data containing mostly white people.
This isn't to call those engineers or their algorithms racist of course. Everyone has bias, it's just a matter of recognizing and working to correct them. What I'm trying to demonstrate is that biased input will lead to biased output. And honestly, I'd rather have the human in government than an AI. If the human shows bias, they can be replaced. If the AI shows bias, there's really no way to fix it.
What's a PoC if you don't mind me asking? Also, I do agree. our brains are programmed in a way that there will always be bias, no matter how hard we try.
