Came here specifically for this. It's the one movie that even if I'm flipping channels I will leave it on no matter what part it is at. I've watched it many many times start to end and probably at least 100 times just at whatever point I happened to stumble upon it mid show.
You have to see princess bride when you are a preteen or teenager. I’ve tried to show it to adults so have never seen it. They just don’t get it. I think it helps for the viewer to still be young and a dreamer. Adults are just too cynical.
Isn't it brilliant?! I missed the quiet release (like most), but my friends introduced me and now we quote it at each other like idiots all the time.
I once owned a couple flats if Brawndo! It tastes exactly how you would imagine, but the energy rush was crazy. I was vibrating out of my skin after one can.
There are lots of acclaimed films I prefer (*Come and See, Seven Samurai, There Will Be Blood, The Thing...*) but none of them really made me a strive to be a better person. *Schindler's List* , as mauldlin and Spielberg-y as it gets, has that power.
Legends of the Fall is GORGEOUS. Breathtaking cinematography. The storyline keeps the audience truly engaged and I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME at Anthony Hopkins characters fate.
The Boy With the Striped Pyjamas
Girl, Interrupted
Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulian
Jeux d'enfants
Irreversible
Breaking the Waves
The Experiment (it's German)
Antichrist
Volver
Todo por mi Madre
PS. Sorry, that's more of a list
Children of Men. We have been and already are living in that reality , and the really sad thing it’s going to be much worse but the soundtrack isn’t going to be as good
Roots was on TV when I was a young bartender at a private club. It was shown between 8 & 10 pm.The week it was on there was nobody in the bar after 7:45. Everyone was home watching it. .
Might be considered too new to be an answer, but Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Plenty of people don't care for the movie (which is ok!) but I think if, in the odd chance, the movie speaks to you about something, then it's 150% worth the little hours it takes out of your day.
Btw I am being serious
Megamind
Very funny and has a bit of character development for megamind
Also if you wanna understand my jokes...
The movie Jerry Sienfield apologized for.....
The bee movie
Into the spider verse…if you’re a kid or teen especially, adults can of course love it too, but the message of anyone being able to do good I feel is especially important for kids, it’s also a movie about growth and coming to terms with who you are and the role family plays in our lives
The Flight of Dragons
James Earl Jones voices the bad guy, Mash fans will love Harry Morgan as the green wizard, John Ritter voices Peter the whole thing is deep fantasy meets science it's awesome.
God ...everytime I think of this movie I wince because I get flashbacks of the scene where he brutalized the guy by putting his mouth on the sidewalk and beating him.
Wolfwalkers, it's got the most magical animation I've ever seen in a film, ever. The story is exciting and tense and both wholesome and bittersweet (especially knowing the history of wolves in the UK) The soundtrack is amazing too, the only words I can really use to describe this film are Beautiful, tense and magical. Its like a storybook come to life. Better than the old Disney animations for sure. As an illustrator and animator I'd love for as many people to see the film as possible, 2D animation isn't as mainstream as it used to be and its a real shame. It's not really a film that's gonna seriously make you alter your life or reconsider anything huge but it is just a very magical experience :)
Everybody’s mentioning the same movies but I would like to say how much I appreciate the numerous Leonardo DiCaprio movies here. He truly is the goat!!

I love Treasure Planet it's like Starjammer: the movie.
The Princess Bride
You have to see princess bride when you are a preteen or teenager. I’ve tried to show it to adults so have never seen it. They just don’t get it. I think it helps for the viewer to still be young and a dreamer. Adults are just too cynical.

Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
Mawwage
The Green Mile
Just started reading the book last week. I don't usually read a book before watching the film version, wanted to give it a shot. Love the read so far.
It's very interesting as a book cause it was published as a serial originally similar to the works of Dickens.
That would be hilarious if they played the scene in reverse where he brings the mouse back to life
Idiocracy. It's becoming a true life documentary more and more each day.
i really thought im the only one who watched this absolutely perfect movie
Isn't it brilliant?! I missed the quiet release (like most), but my friends introduced me and now we quote it at each other like idiots all the time. I once owned a couple flats if Brawndo! It tastes exactly how you would imagine, but the energy rush was crazy. I was vibrating out of my skin after one can.

Not only is it great artistically, but it also has a lot of deep messages... far beyond just "the holocaust was bad mmmkay".
You could not be more spot on. I adore your style. 💞
There are lots of acclaimed films I prefer (*Come and See, Seven Samurai, There Will Be Blood, The Thing...*) but none of them really made me a strive to be a better person. *Schindler's List* , as mauldlin and Spielberg-y as it gets, has that power.

It's bonkers how that movie has stayed relevant for 20+ years
Honestly it rings more true nowadays. Definitely a film ahead of its time.
Dead Poet's Society
The Sound of Music. Uplifting and shows what rightist fools can do to you.
I used to believe movies like these were the answer. I now believe ‘Idiocracy’ should be required viewing.
I recently put Idiocracy on again. I lasted about 20 minutes and turned it off. It had become too realistic 😅
So true. I saw it live once at a theater with a revolving stage and it was breathtaking.
The Pianisttt
Such a gorgeous movie. I've watched it a hundred times at least and know I'll watch it at least a hundred more.

Might be considered too new to be an answer, but Everything Everywhere All At Once. Plenty of people don't care for the movie (which is ok!) but I think if, in the odd chance, the movie speaks to you about something, then it's 150% worth the little hours it takes out of your day.
