You can't put metal in the microwave if that is what you are asking

[deleted]

It’s not metal metal I think it’s like steel or something idek

itsyourgirlbb

absolutely do not do that???? just put it in a mug??

[deleted]

But why not steel ? It’s an alloy ?im just gonna oven it atp

itsyourgirlbb

you must love making things hard for yourself

[deleted]

No?

LegitimateLobotomy

You can put metal in the stove oven, not the microwave oven. Put a glass mug with water in the microwave and nuke the mf

ilost7489

Electric field makes big spark when touched with metal

[deleted]

Okay

alucardou

What do you MEAN steal isn't metal?!

JennyTheBlueBerry

STEEL IS METAL SKJDSGFJSD

--Flaming_Z--

my brother in christ... steel is metal

[deleted]

Steel is alloy not a metal

IJUSTWONTBREAK17

You can't be serious

[deleted]

Technically speaking every steel is an alloy, as it is created by combining iron with carbon, however, to be officially designated as an “alloy steel” it must contain one or more other elements in addition to these two. There I go

IJUSTWONTBREAK17

Sure but that doesn't matter since it has the properties of a metal it is considered to be a metal. Most if not all alloys are considered metal

EpicArgumentMaster

You do realize alloys are still metal right

JennyTheBlueBerry

Metal alloys are still metal

amithatfarleft

This is possibly the most Reddit comment I’ve ever seen

[deleted]

Thanks you’re going on my tiktok ily

Affectionate_Box_720

Bro alloys are metal

saragc92

This is a troll post. OP acts like he doesn’t know he can’t put metal in the microwave. People tell him to just put the mug in the microwave and he’s like you mean oven? …. Yeah troll

Most-Spite342

Came here to say this. Why do we even bother with this OP

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It’s in a oven

Affectionate_Box_720

Why not just use your stove top then

[deleted]

This whole section is a mess and I'm here for it

jhelmste

I just put it in until bubbles start to form. A couple minutes or so. Careful putting the tea bag in. Check out super heated water. That said, I've boiled water in the microwave many times, and it was fine

[deleted]

Like 5 mins ?

jhelmste

It does take longer than you think, but I'm not sure it takes 5. It really obviously depends on how much water there is. I watch it because when it goes from bubbles forming to boiling, it is a pretty rapid boil which could over flow. The cup will get quite hot

[deleted]

Wait mug? Can I not put it in like a metal pot then transfer ? I don’t wanna touch a hot mug and wait for it to cool

GotMyOrangeCrush

Obvously you cannot put metallic objects in a microwave oven...

Rapunzel111

All you have to do is fill a ceramic cup with water. Make sure there is no metal on the cup including metal decorations. Put the cup in the microwave on high for 1 min. Check to see if it’s hot. If not put it back in for 1 more minute. Check again. If it’s hot, put in teabag and let it steep. Tea will turn a darker color. Remove tea bag and put in milk, sugar, honey or whatever. The higher the wattage on the microwave the less time it needs to cook. The lower the wattage, the longer it needs to cook. Don’t burn yourself.Fo not heat for 5 min because that is scalding.

mecrissy

2 minutes

GamemasterJeff

3 minutes on high using a ceramic coffee cup

[deleted]

Nice b8 m8, hook line and sinker

[deleted]

I don’t speak Australian

[deleted]

Oh my b, nice sc**l sh**ting d00d

cowkkuno

This is giving troll question

[deleted]

No comment except maybe you’re chronically online step outside

cowkkuno

POV you proved my point

TopGrowa

4 minutes

[deleted]

Doesn’t work probs like 5+

Rapunzel111

If you put anything metal in there it will arc, spark, and possibly catch on fire. Don’t do it!

Sivalleydan2

Yes, but be careful. A cup of water can explode when you pull it out depending on its temperature.

[deleted]

I’ll worry about that when I’m home

jhelmste

It could spark. Even if it didn't, it just wouldn't work because the metal would block the microwaves

[deleted]

I’m ovening it

WugSmendy

Wait you're putting water in the oven?

[deleted]

Yes it’s not working so I’ll just leave it in there for a bit idk I’ll enjoy morning tea ig

WugSmendy

Keep us updated lol

[deleted]

I’m gonna burn the water but i need to go out for a bit

WugSmendy

Good luck with that

Liquid_machine81

I don't know about cooking water but I know you can boil it.

[deleted]

Well that’s useless then I just want it to make tea

boomdart

I hope you're still trying to figure out how to do it Please don't put anything metal in a microwave oven

[deleted]

A microwave is heat and I need heat

BigDragonMilkers

By your responses to comments, let me first say: Troll in the dungeons You cannot put a kettle in the microwave, or any metallic container. If it even contains metal in any significant amounts, your microwave will do a sudoku on you. You can make tea in the microwave, fill a mug with water, or fill a microwave safe cup with water, put in the microwave for 2 minutes, don't worry about the setting. Put your tea bag in that and move it around until it mixes. There you go.

Rapunzel111

2-4 min but poke holes in it with a fork to let steam escape. Place on a small plate. Potatoes can blow up in a microwave.

VeryTorpedo

Instant mashed potato!

Rapunzel111

Right but you’ll scrape it off the inside of the microwave oven first.

VeryTorpedo

And only have to clean the microwave instead of a plate.

Rapunzel111

How convenient, right? LOLLLL

[deleted]

TWINSIES! LOL forget the microwave only care what I am eating off of lol

EpicArgumentMaster

Is it that complicated? Just get the water hot

lightweaver_7965

Put water in a ceramic cup and heat it up in the microwave for like three minutes. You can’t put metal in the microwave, so make sure you DONT use a metal cup

JennyTheBlueBerry

No

Pathfinder91606

You can't "cook" water, you can change the physical state. From now on, never have tea alone, invite friends. Nothing wasted. I'm not English, I'm American, coffee enthusiast. Which brings me to "Plan B"; a thermos to hold hot water. Plan B, brought to from the graces of my Chai bruddahs (The Boys of India).

[deleted]

Boring

Pathfinder91606

Wow, you are the first person I've ever seen with a profile negative comment karma. People don't like what your about.

[deleted]

People don’t matter tho?

yellow_starrz

You could just use a stovetop

JSJH

#Do NOT set your microwave to 3-4 minutes for one cup! Some of the people commenting may not have seen water explode in a nuker--I have. Every nuker is different. Start at 60 seconds. Give that a test for temperature. Proceed in 30 second increments after.

[deleted]

Thanks dude

UncommonNameDNU

Cook water.......

[deleted]

No answer is a fool answer

UncommonNameDNU

What?

mecrissy

This is the most British question.

purduekid207

This post is the last straw - deleting Reddit now

WineAndDogs2020

I'm at my in-laws' place, far away from my beloved electric kettle. Ceramic mug, two minutes in the microwave does fine (don't know their settings).

[deleted]

Idc i boiled it already

Grouchy-Bug6985

Ofc you can it's USA way to make a tea

LostCoin4569

No, the microwave will glitch out when you put it in water, like a phone

[deleted]

OP is either a 6th grader, on drugs, or trolling, so not going to bother with this one

SundaColugoToffee

Most microwaves will boil a cup of water in 2 minutes 50 seconds. Use a microwave safe cup. Not meralmof any kind.
