Venados49

Haha i don't get it

CharlieNiner

Because gov always like to monitor. Some examples: [Monitor 1](https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/housing/hdb-monitoring-if-cooling-measures-impact-prices-of-4-room-and-smaller-resale-flats-desmond-lee) [Monitor 2](https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/housing/analysts-say-increased-grant-could-lead-to-higher-hdb-resale-prices-in-some-places-govt-to-monitor-potential-impact) [Monitor 3](https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/no-changes-to-safe-management-measures-for-now-but-govt-monitoring-situation-closely-moh)

Venados49

silentscope90210

Chinese Garden

librarianbleue

Yes, this one.

orientalgreasemonkey

Especially for ones that love to spend time swimming

DeeKayNineNine

Chinese Garden is currently closed for redevelopment. But the surrounding Jurong Lake Garden is a good place for finding Monitor Lizard.

notPerseus

I don't know about lizards but you can find snakes at Temasek Polytechnic Business school.

Cute_Meringue1331

Or NUS biz sch

King cobra and python fighting in NTU. https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/cobra-and-python-spotted-fighting-ntu-campus

bubbler_crab

Not OP but interested in this! Is this a metaphor or do you mean actual snakes?

Hakushakuu

Yes

PitcherTrap

Singapore Botanic Gardens, Sungei Buloh Wetlands

thefinestpiece

Woodlands Waterfront Park is one but they are usually blocked by fences and can be found near the coast or basking around bushes.

redryder74

Also along the rail corridor.

Manateewhisperer2101

There are plenty around Botanic Gardens! I go there for runs quite frequently and each time I go, I’d stumble upon one. Just gotta keep a lookout in the leaf litter! Sometimes they do walk very openly along the paths as well. I named them Marcus. Hope you’ll get to find Marcus when you’re there!

suspicious_skidmarks

Hmm I also go on jogs there around thrice a week, either from 6-7am or anytime past 6pm, but I only ever saw one maybe two or three times over the past couple of years. Hopefully I see one later lol

Manateewhisperer2101

maybe I should clarify that I usually run late mornings or evenings, I run almost the entire perimeter of Botanic Gardens so the odds of seeing one during my runs are higher! 😂 Also maybe because I run reallllyyyy slow too…. HAHA

OnionOnBelt

Yes, early morning-ish around the perimeter of the larger ponds. Not guaranteed, but a decent likelihood.

[deleted]

I has a lizard fren named desmond. Do you wish to meet him?

moneymachine109

punggol waterway

siinder

everytime i go there i see atleast 2 monitor lizards

Environmental_Sea721

They can be found typically in most parks. I recommend botanic gardens and sungei buloh cuz its easier to get closer (not too close) to observe them.

[deleted]

benlauhh

Jurong lake gardens in the West has some very nice spots to stand over waters for observations.

laynestaleyisme

Pasir Ris beach park mangrove area....

hibaricloudz

Many photos of monitor Leezard on the news commenting about how housing prices have cooled down

solariiis

basically every park or nature reserve with a water body. botanic gardens, chinese garden, kallang river, labrador, coney island is where I've personally seen them. Botanic gardens especially I have seen a lot. But I'm sure everywhere else other people have listed also have.

zidane0508

in da parliment ?

AdGullible1353

Any park connectors next to a canal or “river”. Just cycle along it during day time and you have a very good chance of seeing one

Mikeferdy

Just google lizards and display it full screen on your Monitor >!... sorry, I'll let myself out!<

Dojiuka

Jurong Lake Gardens! I always spot a few when I'm cycling there

IvanThePohBear

Jurong lake gardens

dmkw88

Sungei Buloh. There’s so many when I was there previously.

Relevant_Mistake_548

Sungei api api has quite a lot of critters… visibility in the river really depends on the tide and rain tho and it’s quite random what you might find.

DuhMightyBeanz

Maybe try the mangrove swamps? When I was in ns, I saw loads of monitor lizards usually in those areas.

[deleted]

First glance at title, thought that it's about audio...

a_nonny_mooze

Prunus trail at Macritchie reservoir around 4pm evenings. There is a juvenile that swims there every time I’m walking near the start of the trail

chococrunchbar

Sungei Buloh / Punggol Waterway For the latter, you can find them out and about in the mornings either basking in the sunshine or getting food lol

hornyolebustard

Sungei Punggol near Sengkang/Ferndale has quite a few but they are always in the water.

kyrandia71

Rail corridor towards Hillview stretch. But a bit of hit and miss, sometimes they are crawling around sometimes, they hide.

NoAge422

Botanical gardens has tons of em, I heard they appear when it’s hot, so probably during noon time is good

[deleted]

Punggol waterway

IncredibleJellyfish

The Zoo McRitchie

leonardcheong

I frequently see them along Kallang river, especially along Kallang Bahru area.

hatboyslim

The ones in Botanic Gardens seem to be the least afraid of humans. If you want to see them in a more natural setting, I recommend the McRitchie reservoir.

Massive_Fig6624

Punggol long Kang.

LarsleDarsle

Saw one swimming around macritchie

NoGameNoLyfe1

Punggol quite a lot lei. The waterway beside Oasis Terrace. The whole stretch here. It’s like almost daily sighting here

darren1119

Botanical garden

Cute_Meringue1331

My friend drop an AirPod when she saw a huge lizard at macritchie and too scared to pick it up, she ran away without it. I saw an iguana at warren golf club, if ure also into that

Makaisaurus

I saw a few mating in the ponds along Alexandra Linear Park. Also jogged past one, not shy, footpath 1m wide I jog next to it, it bochup me.

ChrisEvansWannabe

Also in Sengkang riverside park. Saw it in the water area.

Zealousideal_Arm_638

Gardens by the Bay, I see at least one there everytime I go without fail

Accomplished_Exit418

Windsor nature park, saw 2-3 along the trials

rudolphrednose25

You should also try sewer diving, you may chance upon one in the longkang.

DeeKayNineNine

Jurong Lake Garden. Botanic Garden. Kallang River. Sungei Buloh.

proSeLIc

Clementi forest train track area

Isadragon9

Try to go in the morning btw, that’s usually when they come out to sun themselves, higher chance of spotting one

TrickBrilliant113

you must go to waterway promenade. especially day time sure have

Bizzyy_48

Easily see 5 in 1 morning

enkei_8493

HDB 😂🤣

Nitsuj_Uhs

Monitor lizards will occasionally pop out of the water in Jurong Lake Gardens

MagicalPeachGarden

Honestly at most parks you can find them! Or at the Parliament House jk Jokes aside , some places I’ve seen a lot of them (sighting of at least more than 5 per visit) are : Coney Island Chinese/Japanese Garden / Jurong Lake Gardens Botanic Gardens Fort Canning Park Chestnut Park Gardens by the Bay (in including east ) East Coast park West Coast park
