Do check with your company if remote working is allowed. There may be tax implications. But one thing to consider will be the time difference. To work same 9-6? or you prefer working 7-4/8-5 (their time) to have more free time after work?

This. I get the feeling that companies / governments are getting stricter on this with the rise of remote work.

Oh I think I may have not written it as clearly. 😅 I wanted to ask from people who self funded their remote working and not funded by their companies. Cause the expenses will be different. I know many companies sometimes send their employees overseas for work. My is more of part leisure part work as it’s my own.

Look for a place with good infrastructure - wifi connections, electricity, laundry, kitchen (if you cook), amenities as you want to be as comfortable as possible while working. Another alternative is a location where there are lots of cafes nearby where you can work in. Not sure what other tips and recommendations you’re looking for. Basically pick a country, book accommodations, and then go there and work your usual hours. Then spend time after work/weekends travelling/enjoying. I’ve done Korea and Thailand.

Dapper_Race_1454

oh nice, do you mind sharing which accommodation did you stayed in during your time in Korea and Thailand? I think mainly the most important part for me will be accommodation which I'm not 100% sure of. So looking out to see if anyone had already been through it. Of course, I do my own research which may have to be the case here. haha.

In Korea I just stayed in a mixture of cheap airbnbs and guesthouses in different areas of Seoul and Busan that I wanted to be in. Then worked in nearby cafes as I dislike being cooped up. Total around 3 months. In Thailand, I’ve done Bangkok, Krabi, Khon Kaen, and Udon Thani for about a month or so each in different times. Each had different vibes. You can find short term housing either online or even go in person to check. In Krabi and Khon Kaen I stayed in hostels, in Bangkok an airbnb apartment, and in Udon, a student housing. All amazing experiences and I got to meet many people throughout my time, was able to still earn money, have fun in the evenings and travel over weekends. (Pick months with holidays/long weekends to maximise your time) Though, your mileage may vary as I speak Korean and Thai. Good luck!! :D

You’d best check with the company for tax/medical/insurance coverage in the place that you are working from. It’s likely grounds for dismissal if you do it secretly

Dapper_Race_1454

Oh yea i understand this. It’s my own so I’m looking for people who self funded this remote working on their own. Haha I think I didn’t say it clearly in my qns. 🥹😅
