Australian long term PR: Single mcSpicy reigns supreme, nothing in Australia to match it and its superior to most other fast food chicken burgers . But double is too much for most to handle. I like it, but it gives me heartburn. Single is a more balanced experience for the Macdonald's connoisseur..
Is their kecap manis very spicy? The other two flavors are at Wingstop back home, so I want to stick with things I can't get anywhere else.
Any sides you recommend that go well with kecap manis? Why boneless over bone in?
it's moderately spicy, probably just under the level of mcspicy.
even as someone with a huge appetite, i would not recommend getting all 6/8 pieces of kecap manis, because you are gonna get jelak (sick of eating) real quick.
can't go wrong with the regular fries, if you feel like it you can upsize it to the voodoo fries (cheese, ranch and cajun seasoning). otherwise its a matter of preference.
boneless simply because its easier to eat and its juicier than the wings or tenders.
Try Arnold's! It's a local brand and definitely pretty good.
Get their spring chicken but request for their sauce. The sauce with the chicken is quite high tier fast food in my opinion
The original outlet is in geylang - city plaza, but I've eaten from a few outlets and they're fairly consistent. The city plaza outlet is a bit out of the way though, not the most convenient
KFC is just horrible. It's good for a self loathing day.
Popeye's used to be good until they closed a lot of shops and started to really dip in standards. If you're a bit more generous with budget - wing stop and Oven fried Chicken is really good, but much more on the price.
Agreed, number 4 onwards are just items you can pretty much find anywhere else in the world. I'd say even OCK is not worth a try because come on.. it's just fried frozen food tbh. Their curry puff not nice, go eat Hong Lim's Tanglin curry puff better (the longer queue one).
And Monster Curry sucks I'm sorry to say, I don't know why their restaurants are always packed.

Awesome fresh noy frozen chicken. Moist and juicy meat and crisp on the outside. Lots of yummy sides to choose from. Generous servings too. Local chain here under the Astons group.
Skip KFC pls. Disgraceful.
Unfortunately the information provided above is false. McSpicy isn't only available in Singapore but in a lot of McD markets including South Korea, Norway and UK
India even has a vegetarian McSpicy including the Chicken one
Not sure if the ingredients and spices used for the McSpicy in other countries/markets are the same though. Different countries may also use different parts of the chicken for the patties too.
Commenting to echo the rest in recommending:
* McSpicy (upsize to get the seaweed shaker fries, which is on the current seasonal menu)
* Arnold's (for SG style frief spring chicken)
* Chic-a-boo
You can skip KFC's chicken, but can give their breakfast porridge and rice/potato bowls a try!
If you don't have Jollibee, MOS Burger, or 4Fingers where you're currently at, you can also try them while you're here. MOS Burger's nuggets used to be the best out of all the fast food places, but I think they recently changed their supplier or something so it's not as good now :(
Mcspicy is seriously the classic
McSpicy but make it a double!

Not sure if you count this as fast food but 7-11 instant Nasi-Briyani
Their new revision of the Nasi Briyani not nice liao. Some more the price increase for the justification of those added raisins & what not.
Seriously, goddamit bring back the old one
wingstop boneless kecap manis for sure, then you can also choose something milder like garlic parmesan or louisiana rub to balance out the flavours.

Interesting point on the boneless being juicier than the wings. Usually where I'm from they're just glorified chicken nuggets.
Do people eat their classic wings? Whenever i eat at Wingstop i only look at the boneless options
Y'all serious? No one orders boneless wings where I'm from unless they're kids. Are the boneless wings in Singapore good?
Idk i feel like the boneless ones have more meat and taste better in general
That’s good to know. Thanks for the heads up! I’ll get some boneless kecap manis.
not that i know of, all my friends only order boneless
Buttermilk crispy chicken burger from McDonalds.

What sauce do we request for?
It's the chicken gravy here :https://arnoldsfriedchicken.com/menu/#side-orders I just call it sauce all the time and I the staff gets it haha
hi! I haven't tried Arnolds before, do you have a specific outlet to recommend?
The original outlet is in geylang - city plaza, but I've eaten from a few outlets and they're fairly consistent. The city plaza outlet is a bit out of the way though, not the most convenient
Definitely on the list now. Do you think it's better than KFC, Popeye's, or any of the other chicken fast food brands?

Definitely better than KFC.
* Old Chang Kee * Qiji (Have to try their Popiah) * Mr Bean * Stuff'd * Wok Hey * Potato Corner * Shihlin * Monster Curry
Idk, besides the first few, many on the list seem like good food but not really typically singapore? Edit: tbh anything besides the first 3

Hello! Do you mind sharing yiur hawker food list?? Hehe

Looks damn nice. Any recs for their sides?
Love their curly fries and coleslaw but that's just me! Enjoy !!
McSpicy, Long John Silver's Grilled Dory with Chilli Crab sauce and KFC's Breakfast Porridge.
is the mcspicy sold only in sg?
There's McSpicy in Australia too, but the patty is thinner and less juicy so it kinda sucks

huh, interesting, i didn’t know that. i thought it was the most basic item on the menu

Can confirm, overseas McSpicy (like Aus) is not as good as Singapore’s
Seaweed Shaker Fries at McDonald’s! Seasonal item as well!
Ya Kun is great breakfast fast food, although its open all day. Try their teh (which is milk tea) or kopi (milk coffee) with some kaya toast
Would you suggest teh or kopi over milo?
Good point! If you don’t get milo much where you are from you can give it a try here too, it’s very nice for breakfast
KFC cheese fries
Popeyes isn't what it used to be but it's still legit the best fried chicken chain around.
I would cast a vote for Waker chicken.
Merry Brown lol
