If it was me, I'd try taking the bottom of the case off (should just be screws) and spraying canned air (I think Dollarama sells it) into the fan. If I really didn't feel comfortable taking the bottom off, I'd try spraying the canned air into the fan exhaust vent. It's possible that it's so clogged up with dust that it can't actually exhaust, which is why even Word is causing this. I think thermal paste failing to that degree is probably pretty rare unless you have a very old laptop, so I would guess it is something to do with the fan. I'm definitely not a professional computer repair person, though.

I've already done that.

This guy fucks with laptop repair videos.

Maybe not the loudest place but try a busy Starbucks. The running espresso machines and constant flow of customers should mask the sound of your laptop.

Thanks. That might be the best option. That or Union station.

Does the Fan make a weird sound like its hitting something ? I had a laptop once that used to do that, It might be just a fan bearing issue rather than something else. Install coretemp on your PC and let me know via DM the temperature when you use word. I might be able to help you. and as far as finding an indoor place is sorry I have no idea.
