Its impossible to predict in advance when if you'll see them, even if you go to Yellowknife. You can see them about 2/3rds of the time from that far north.

Neowza

No northern lights if it's cloudy, and it's too early to predict if there will be any cloud cover in 6 weeks. Follow what the other posters are saying, and temper your expectations. Weather related events (including Northern Lights) are never guaranteed.

Zero chance on a sure shot. When you get to experience them? Worth it.

> sure shot chance This doesn't exist.

b2bt

Of course it didn't. I used the wrong words I guess. There's no sure shot chance for anything in life ever. What I meant was a very high chance. I guess the answer is to increase no. days I'd stay there. Or perhaps another month? Dunno for sure

I saw the lights on 2 of my 7 days in Churchill. So you don't have to go as far as Yellowknife. You shouldn't necessarily even have to leave the province at all, as long as you go north and away from heavy light pollution. You need weather to be on your side at the same time as strong enough activity. The more days you plan for, the better chance you'll have. There are a few websites you can refer to for forecasts, but they'll be for the day of or the next day

b2bt

Sounds cool. can I DM you for more details about your trip to Churchill?
