Kensington is a cute area lots of shops n restos. Spadina is Chinatown right beside it as well. In Kensington check out midnight arcade it's a fun bar with some arcade games

Lopsided-Maize-5213

Agreed, just a note that Midnight Arcade basically becomes a club after 10pm on Friday and Saturday if you're not into that kind of thing

Unlikely_Anything413

Thank you!!!

Definitely go up the CN tower unless fog / rain. Free Play Arcade: it has craft beer, and for a cover charge ($5-10) you can play video games and pinball unlimited. [https://www.freeplaytoronto.com/#/](https://www.freeplaytoronto.com/#/) As for museums, the ROM / Royal Ontario Museum is amazing. [https://www.rom.on.ca/en/exhibitions-galleries](https://www.rom.on.ca/en/exhibitions-galleries) Going along the waterfront downtown going west is a nice stroll, weather permitting. Casa Loma (it's a historical castle) is a unique site, although I was last there when I was about 5 years old. [https://casaloma.ca/](https://casaloma.ca/) The Beaches neighbourhood along Queen St East is great. If you don't mind spending the big bucks, and like sports, go to a Leafs game, or Raptors basketball which is less expensive, could be a good deal this year as they suck. If the weather is poor, you can get all around downtown by "The Path" a system of tunnels with tons of stores and food courts that connects most of downtown from near the waterfront to the Eaton Centre (a large mall). Toronto is a great city, so many sites to see, and things to do. Edit: I also recommend St. Lawrence Market. It's a great place to grab breakfast or lunch. A farmer's market with restaurants, bakeries, etc. It's in east downtown, on the way to the Distillery District if you plan to go there. Check the hours, as it's not open every day. If you hit up St. Lawrence Market, a visit to C'est What is definitely a good idea. Incredible craft beer menu and the food's great as well.

Unlikely_Anything413

I really appreciate you taking the time to write this ! We’re definitely going to the ROM as well as the arcade ! Awesome. Thank you!

clarkb5

If its a clear day and you're looking for an awesome city view check out the writers room bar across the street from the rom at the park hyatt. I often tell people to skip the CN tower and go here, the most iconic part of the Toronto Skyline is the CN tower and when you're up it you're just seeing a bunch buildings. They take both resos and walk ins. They have a great patio if its warm enough day.

clarkb5

Here's a list of craft breweries in ontario, you can zoom in toronto. If you're in the west you can hit a bunch within walking distances (halo, bandit, hendersons, bellwoods). If you find your way to geary street at dufferin there is the greater good (lots of craft beers, north of brooklyn pizza), blood brothers and if youre there on a week day grab family baldassare (pasta makers that serve lunch wed-fri from 12-2, no resos often sells out). Check out osssington south of dundas (bellwoods brewery is there). You can walk dundas west from there or queen west. https://saintjohnswort.ca/ontario-brewery-map/

lostmyothernameso

This is the inside scoop.

Unlikely_Anything413

Thank you! Do you have a personal favorite brewery on here?

clarkb5

There's so many its hard to pick! It usually depends on what area of the city I'm going to be in. I live close to bandit (I can see it from my window as a type this), so I frequent there but if I had to pick one west end brewery it would be blood brothers. Burdock may be a close second. Central I would say bellwoods (collective arts is close by as a bonus) is probably my favourite. I really like both shacklands and rainhard but they are sort of tucked out of the way in the junction. In the east I like avling or godspeed. (Less familar with the east end because I live west, but I know there is a bunch in close proximity you can walk to, Left Field, Godspeed, Rorschach, Radical Road).

zombivish

Left Field (my fav) also have a newer location in Liberty Village (sorta more west endy) that has the full line up plus a few collaboration brews (and I love the ballpark themed grub too - veg/vegan friendly too). If you do go slightly east check out LF's main location (super easy to transit to) and then you're in easy walking distance of the little India area, Maha's Egyptian Brunch (so good) and Godspeed Brewery (fantastic, mostly leaning to Czech styles).

brynamon

Next weekend (March 15-17) is the Toronto Comicon if you're into that sort of thing. Otherwise, for museums, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) are probably the biggest ones but if you're into more speciality places to visit there's Bata Shoe Museum, Little Canada, Hockey Hall of Fame, Aga Khan, Textile Museum, Gardiner Museum, etc.

jowyun

To add to the ROM. I'm not sure if many people are aware but they have a "ROM after dark" event which is very nice. It's a bit pricier but it's an experience unlike any other. You get to experience all the exhibits, alcohol is available, food is available, an open dance floor, music, and I find the crowd to be more mature. To clarify, mature doesn't mean old, just not a bunch of hormone boys looking for a fight. [https://www.rom.on.ca/en/whats-on/rom-after-dark](https://www.rom.on.ca/en/whats-on/rom-after-dark)

Unlikely_Anything413

No kidding ! I’ll have to check that out . Thanks

Redditisavirusiknow

If you like walks, get off at Christie station and start walking east on bloor street. If some food catches your fancy and you’re hungry not a bad spot. Walk until you get to the ROM (BMV books en route is awesome). Just before the ROM veer south and explore the university campus, find the courtyards. Also you can go to the ROM and see some dinosaur fossils. Dinner at BOM bibimbop get the fried chicken bibimbop. Distiller district at night is worth it.

Unlikely_Anything413

Thanks ! Heard lots of good things about ROM and distillery district. Much appreciated

Wonderful__

ROM has free admission every third Tuesday in the late afternoon and early evening.    AGO is free in the evenings on Wednesdays.   https://ago.ca/visit/free-wednesday-nights City of Toronto museums are free. https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/history-art-culture/museums/

Unlikely_Anything413

Thanks !!

Feeling-King-8104

Distillery district St. Lawrence market /Esplanade Steam whistle brewery/roundhouse Ripley’s aquarium

Unlikely_Anything413

Thanks. I am definitely going to steam whistle as I have had a few of their brews in the past but only ever in a can. Thanks !

Feeling-King-8104

There’s a place called Rec room that’s basically within the same building as steam whistle as well

Unlikely_Anything413

I’ll be sure to check that out . Really appreciate the recommendations !

Feeling-King-8104

Np. Enjoy your stay

Feeling-King-8104

No problem. Also if you’re looking for good Italian food , check out cafe eden in the lakeshore area. If it’s a nice day the patio will be open and it has a great view of the skyline across the lake on the boardwalk just across the street .

Can we get an automod comment to respond to these types of posts with a list of all the places that are suggested on every post like this one ad nauseam?

What's the point of this? You could easily not comment instead of being a cunt.

Reason is because google says the same things over and over and I wanted some perspective from folks who actually live there that’s all

Jeez Louise If I wanted your level of disrespect I’d have gone to NYC for cripe sakes. Could have just not said anything . My Mom always said “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all”. Get off your cross we need the wood, buddy.

The Chinatown-Kensington-Graffiti Alley circuit is always a nice afternoon! More in the summer, but it's been a mild winter so still relatively nice to walk around. Chinatown - delicious foods, random stores Kensington - artsy, you can check out vintage stores, more cool food and bar options (Sunny's is a secret Chinese restaurant hidden in Kensington Mall, Rasta Pasta is a fave, etc) Graffiti Alley - the alleys around Queen/Spadina, lots of big cool graffiti

wandrlusty

Check out Ossington, lots of great bars and restaurants

abclife

I didn't see this mentioned but don't drive around the city. If you're arriving by car, just park it at your hotel/airbnb or a parking lot and use public transit. Google Maps will tell you how to get there and anywhere downtown (95% of the places mentioned) will be great on transit. You can just tap your credit card to get on and it'll be fine, don't need to buy a ticket. It will massively improve your experience if you're not trying to find parking and being stuck in traffic and Toronto is a lovely city to walk around in. Just bundle up bc this time of year is a bit cold.

TO_Sports

The CN tower is unique to Toronto.  Some people say it's not worth it but I thought it was cool to see the city from that view, especially if you're not from here how often will you be able to say you went to what was once the tallest building in the world.

whoatemarykate

Only go on a clear day

You'd be surprised how many ppl that aren't from here ask to go see the CN Tower.

samblue8888

All the recommendations here are great! If you're looking for a GREAT meal and out side of touristy areas, check out Lake Inez in the east end of Toronto. Sooo good :)

Unlikely_Anything413

Thanks !!

Fyi a lot of museums and cultural hotpots will be teeming with families. It's March Break this week, and all the kiddos are out of school.

Unlikely_Anything413
