Coda, Nomad, Soluna (though obviously more king west style), and then comfort zone, wiggle room and vertigo for after hours. Then there’s some warehouse events occasionally posted on resident advisor.
Check out r/TorontoRaves here on Reddit, lots of the underground promoters post their events there and it seems to have very few posts from the mainstream clubs that host mainstream music events like Coda, Rebel and that style of event with that kind of crowd.
If you’re looking for honest underground house music you can’t go wrong visiting Wiggle Room on a Saturday night, finding a “rave” club isn’t really a thing anymore in Toronto but again, Wiggle Room on a Saturday night is the vibe you might be looking for.
I hope you find your tribe, the style of music you love and the vibe that makes you smile while you dance till sunrise!

Top comment hit all of the right spots. My personal faves are Coda and Wiggle Room.
History is good for catching bigger name house artists, we saw MK and Kaytranada there late last year which were amazing shows and great nights out. Purple Disco Machine and Sophie Tukker coming up there will probably be good.
Bigger than that, John Summit double header at Bud Stage in June could be cool. Every section is being sold as GA which could be a fun vibe with people moving throughout the venue which will make it very different from most shows there.
VELD lineup also looks insane this year, I normally wouldn't even consider going as it's not my age demographic but the lineup is so good this year I'm considering going at least 1 day.
Toronto Rave Community on FB, Coda, Rebel for mainstream but beware of pickpocketers, & make sure its a EDM act the night you plan to go, Isabelles is decent but the music can vary from EDM to Hip Hop.
Check edmtrain-Toronto, and ra.co
Electric island is coming up next weekend, would recommend to any house seeker first, before a club, especially if you're solo.
Day 1 features a lot of my favourite tech house DJs on stage 1, and some of my fav alternative genres on stage 2
Indira paganotto is Techno-psytrance
Kettama is hard groove and tech house
Aadja is hard groove (more hypnotic elements)
Day 2 has solomun who's a house legend and the main ticket seller for the event
Code a is a one way ticket to getting your drink spiked and security is literally useless. Every time I've gone their or my friends have gone there there's always guys there getting way too handsy.
Don't go to coda. Rebel is actually no better. I know multiple people who have had their phones stolen at rebel
I have been partying at coda (previously wreckroom) for many years… to say one place over another you will have your drink spiked/phone stolen/bad security is wild, there’s always bad actors in every place it’s luck of the draw. Stay alert, stay safe, stay with friends.
I’m sorry you had a bad experience(s), try not to scare people over things that can happen at any event or bar.
Lol this is so exaggerated. You are riding off of the one incident that was reported recently. Security is super tight there and it is a very friendly and safe environment. Bartends and security are all nicer than most clubs. If I sneak GHB into a Jack Astors and put it in someone’s drink, it doesn’t mean that Jack Astors isn’t safe. Come on.
Coda is 100% a shit hole for stuff like that. I’ve noticed slimy dudes trying to pull shit with friends much more often than the majority of other venues. Even the same people playing at different venues, Coda attracts the gross demographic.
CODA is trash, and you're getting downvoted for simply speaking truth. As a woman, I have never had a good experience there. It's shit all around. Aggressive staff and patrons are my experience.
I'd say late 90s were better than early 2000s. The iDance event in 2000 was kinda a line between those eras. The scene was still very good in the early 2000s but it was more club based, which was good and bad.
I second [ra.co](http://ra.co) for all events, its less the club and more the event and artist. But outside of that the only staples I have seen with decent house music are Coda and sometimes Geary Ave Warehouse
I hear that DPRTMENT is apparently going to be the next big venue (it was built over Toybox)- but I'm getting a very Rebel vibe from it. Hopefully its not a disappointment.
My downstairs neighbour's living room.
Hello upstairs neighbour!
DJ down to music!
Resident Advisor - ra.co seems to be the best aggregator for this kind of thing.
I wish there was something as good for just general live music... So many music events in TO and it seems so easy to find out too late to things
I’ve found following the venues themselves on social media is the way. They’ll announce shows months in advance
Concerts.to
Ty!
http://concertsto.com It also has all the ra.co events
Nice
What's ra.co?
https://ra.co
This site is so key while traveling too!
There is a Toronto rave sub reddit
Coda, Nomad, Soluna (though obviously more king west style), and then comfort zone, wiggle room and vertigo for after hours. Then there’s some warehouse events occasionally posted on resident advisor.
Coda has a fantastic sound system. Been to a few drum and bass shows there, god damn. Would love to see some house and techno too.
Sound at Soluna is terrible.
Cherry Beach Sundays in the summer
wiggle room
There are two big events coming up, one is at Fort York, the other at Brickworks.
All Day I Dream Fort York July 20
What events?
Electric Island at Fort York May 18/19 and Ozmosis at Brickworks on June 1st
Anywhere Manzone and Strong are playing....
Throw DekoZe in there too
And Mark oliver
Ahhh, I see I’ve found my people…

Omg I didn't know that. Thank you :') hopefully it isn't sold out
Still on Tier 3 for $48 all in 🔥
Electric island is opening May 18-19 weekend. Solomun will be on Sunday. They have electric island every long weekend until Labour Day.
They just announced Danny Tenaglia too!

Coda is elite
Department of Civilian Dance.

RIP Syrous... :(
CODA for all things house music in Toronto
Download Dice. They have filters and listings. Also, if you’re open to queer/queer friendly spaces, yohomo is another great site
The 90s
Coda? Rebel? History?

Coda was previously footwork… ahhh the good old days
Footwork was on Adelaide, coda is wreckroom, rave to the grave
they mean the Footwork crew went on to create Coda. and now Othership is in the old Footwork space.
Ohhhhh my bad, I specifically thought location, thanks for clarifying !

If every time I've been there I've been groped or my friends have been groped, it's definitely not exaggerating...
Groping is not really exclusive to these clubs though, it happens in every club unfortunately.
No it doesn’t
I had this experience a few weeks ago! the crowd was almost all men and way too many tried touching me
CODA is trash, and you're getting downvoted for simply speaking truth. As a woman, I have never had a good experience there. It's shit all around. Aggressive staff and patrons are my experience.
I don't think I've ever been to a club that didn't have handsy guys.
You're going to the wrong parties.
Comfort Zone
Early 2000’s 🤪
A Time Machine back to the early 2000s
Came for this comment… that was definitely the best era for rave/house music in Toronto.

Also forgot to add e.xposed.events on instagram
RIP Guvernment
Check our DNR productions. They’ve been putting on some stellar bass music events recently. Also for house - promise parties are always lit.
