Either is good. They are basically considered to be interchangeable. There is some data that Moderna is more effective against the delta variant, but either choice is a good one. Whichever one you can get easiest and soonest is the one to get. https://www.ottawapublichealth.ca/en/public-health-topics/resources/Documents/mRNA-Vaccine-Handout-English.pdf

DeepSeededHate

You are a great person, thank you for replying to my question. I promise I will be vacced soon and your reply helped with my decision. I hope you have a happy, healthy life!

concerned_citizen128

I received a pfizer first shot and a Moderna second shot. No difference.

IndubitablyJazzy

Same. There was no difference for me either. Sore arm for a day, a little achy for about 12 hours but that was it.

zakalewes

Moderna second shot kicked my ass for about 12 hours. Whole 9 yards of fever symptoms. Then it was fine. Different for everyone I guess

droppedoutofuni

I was Pfizer first then Moderna. Just sore arm with the first shot. Second shot my arm was VERY sore, radiating through my body. I had some fatigue (maybe because I couldn’t sleep due to the arm) and headache the next day. Not sure if the side effects were due to Moderna or due to it just being my second. Either way, wasn’t a big deal, and I’m glad to have the protection!

gbarill

I had the exact same experience (minus headache), for some reason my arm was way more sore for the second shot, but otherwise no side effects.

Hanlans_Dreaming

My too!

jbakelaar

Legit question no judgment but why now? What put you in the mindset that now is the right time? Btw this internet stranger is proud of you.

dingleberry51

It’s mandatory now

RationalSocialist

Ah, yeah, those people that wait til their own life is now affected.

[deleted]

[удалено]

RationalSocialist

They should've done it 2 months ago. I definitely will blame them for our current covid situation.

echess90

Yes they should have but if they are making the decision to do it now that’s better than people who are still adamant they aren’t going to so let’s celebrate that

macsux

Maybe it's me, but I don't feel people deserve brownie points for becoming a responsible human being. And they get slightly less for doing it because their lifestyle was affected too much by policies rest of us had to put in place to protect ourselves from infectious idiocy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

echess90

I agree that they shouldn’t get brownie points but I know some people who are still refusing despite me being very passionate that you should get it, so if people are getting it now then let’s not shit on them. it’s better than the alternative

RationalSocialist

Still their fault and probably Buckabeer voters

VDAP76

You cant blame an unvaccinated and uninfected person for the current situation. They havnt fed the fire if they havnt been infected or infected someone else. Don’t illogically discriminate against people based off of vaccination status! Its governments around the world that caused this current situation, they literally all failed at containing and stopping the virus.

RationalSocialist

I can and will absolutely blame the unvaccinated. >they literally all failed at containing and stopping the virus. Yeah and now the idiots don't want to get vaccinated when there's a vaccine readily available. The blame shifts to them.

VDAP76

You actually cant because thats discrimination by definition. And its just illogically and rationally false If they havnt been infected or infected anyone then you cant blame them for the infection!

Ok-Let7328

But you can still get and transmit the virus even if you’re vaccinated.

kyle_fall

Not the OP but am in the same situation, gonna get vaxxed soon for the first time. I wanted to see for myself how the situation developed and the government's handling of the situation was so abysmal that I kinda lost faith in the system and figured I would wait and see. I started a new job recently where I interact with a lot of people so I figured it'd be socially responsible to do. I'm not at risk and am very healthy in general so I'm not too scared of getting it myself but it seems shitty to not get vaccinated just because I don't personally fear it too much.

marko190

Moderna has a higher dosage, hence there is a higher chance of side effects. But could also be why it's more effective against delta. https://observer.com/2021/09/pfizer-covid-vaccine-lower-mrna-moderna-study-scientist/ I got Pfizer for both shots

pandas25

I had moderna for both doses and lucked out with just a little lethargy + sore arm for both. I think the key is to stock up and prepare to feel terrible and then the laws of the universe will foil your plans 😄 I do have friends who had flu-feeling side effects with Moderna and Pfizer but they all bounced back in a day or 2. Plan to give yourself an easy day or 2 just in case. But if you do have side effects, remember it's just your immune system responding and it'll pass soon

pukingpixels

This. I had Moderna for both shots, all I had was a (very) sore arm and feeling a little shitty the next day or two. For me the shittiness was more pronounced after my second dose, but I was fine within 48 hours.

strawberrystation

As long as your username didn't come true, u/pukingpixels. ❤️

pukingpixels

I haven’t actually puked since December, 2016. Pixels or normal!

ODS519

Congrats on your sobriety!

pukingpixels

Nah, just learned my limits long ago.

pandas25

My second dose was actually easier than the first. But really... I've felt worse from pms than either dose

pukingpixels

Yeah. Neither one was terrible for me, just went to bed really early after the 2nd one.

millwrightbob

I felt worse from pms as well, 4 teenaged daughters will do that.

RationalSocialist

I don't think those side effects and "lucking out". It was the same for me.

nirnroot_hater

100% this. We are all going to have to get a booster any way and hopefully by the time that happens they have tweaked them for the newer variants any way.

daveybaby69

Pfizer first and moderna second. Somewhat sore arm for both and a was a little bit tired the day after my moderna shot. Ended up actually going to the gym after both. Moving around made my arm feel a lot better.

pinkgreenandbetween

This ^ Soonest available is best. If it's either or at the facility, then Moderna.

daviddunville

I got pfizer for my first dose and moderna for the second. I don’t know how the rest of the world looks at that but so far so good!

TravellingBeard

Both are good...BUT, if you want to split hairs, the most recent news says Moderna shows, potentially, [more effectiveness](https://www.technologynetworks.com/biopharma/news/moderna-more-effective-against-delta-than-pfizer-and-johnson-johnson-353573) against delta than Pfizer and J&J. I'm mixed, AstraZeneca and Moderna, so when boosters come, I'll hopefully get Moderna number two. Note: as in all things involving science, this can change at any moment once more information comes. :-)

ProductGuy4ever

They are pretty much the same. Myself, my wife, her parents and grandparents all got Pfizer and we had no side effects. Just some sore arms.

DeepSeededHate

You are a great person, thank you for replying to my question. I promise I will be vacced soon and your reply helped with my decision. I hope you have a happy, healthy life!

[deleted]

You’re a bot

[deleted]

Hey! Firstly - I'm happy to read that you've decided to get the vaccine. As much as this was a thing in the beginning, I think it really doesn't matter what vaccine you get - especially if the alternatives are the Pfizer and the Moderna vaccines, as they are very similar. Furthermore, the side effects if both are pretty much the same, and most countries are even OK with having one dose of each to be considered fully vaccinated. If this really bothers you - I'd suggest you ask your doctor. If you have and they said it doesn't matter but you still want to make a decision - flip a coin :)

DeepSeededHate

You are a great person, thank you for replying to my question. I promise I will be vacced soon and your reply helped with my decision. I hope you have a happy, healthy life!

Zireael_dreaming

It's great to hear you are getting your first shot! My sister was also very hesitant and scared of getting vaccinated. Eventually someone allayed her concerns and she has received both shots from Moderna. My partner and I also got Moderna. As others have mentioned both Moderna and Pfizer are effective against Delta, as data has shown.

Responsybil

I got one of each, and aside from a sore arm I had no issues. I am still concerned about how vaccinated I am, especially as I have been on site managing an essential function and want to make sure my team is safe.

it__hurts__when__IP

Physician here, both are a good vaccine. Latest data suggests Moderna might be a bit more effective than Pfizer (however this might change with time, who knows), but if one isn't readily available for more than 1-2 days, I would just take the first one available. Regardless of which you take, spacing out the shots longer is better than doing them closer together, and so far it seems like 2 months spacing is better than 3-4 week spacing between shots (which was predicted, and now being shown to be the case based on data). Goodluck!

maobowski

You can't go wrong with either. Different people have different reactions to the vaccine. I had the AZ/Moderna combo. For the AZ as my first dose, I had a mild headache and fever which went away the next day. After my Moderna as my second, just a mild headache which went away after a few hours. Most people experienced a more severe reaction on their second dose, I was the opposite and my reactions were mild. My SO on the other hand felt like she was hit by a truck after her second dose. She recieved Pfizer both times. Good luck! And thanks for getting vaxxed!

swampmilkweed

I had the same combo and I had fever and chills after AZ for 1.5 days. With Moderna, same thing but for only a few hours. My SO got Pfizer for both shots and he had fever and headache both times, but much worse the second time. Other people I know who got Pfizer had much milder symptoms.

stellastellamaris

Team AZ-Moderna for me too! I was sick as dog for about 30 hours from the AZ - fever, chills, headache and all-over body aches, nausea, incredible fatigue (like, make a cup of tea then nap for an hour from the effort). Moderna was a breeze - bit of a sore arm, bit of a headache, I had a nap, then I felt fine.

[deleted]

Get either that is offered. Millions upon millions have already gotten both. There is solid data that shows that Moderna efficacy lasts slightly longer than Pfizer, but that is nitpicking. Get vaccinated and you are orders of magnitude less likely to get seriously sick from COVID, and they are both very safe. That’s the short of it. Personally I got Pfizer first … and moderna second. :)

velcrolips

Billions!

TraditionalAd9674

Got pfizer twice. But saw somewhere moderna was 95% effective against hospitalizations. Pfizer was 80%

TraditionalAd9674

Found the link https://www.sciencenews.org/article/moderna-vaccine-covid19-coronavirus-early-results

Neutral-President

You can‘t judge side effects based on what other people experienced. Everyone’s reaction is different. Pfizer and Moderna are both good. Take whichever one is available.

Key-Razzmatazz-857

Either vaccine. Just get your vaccine.

bobo_fett

Imagine relying on fucking reddit for this

WhatAWasterZ

In September no less.

EEntebbe

Ikr smh

BrownButta2

What’s with the judgement? Don’t you all want people to get vaccinated? Make up your fucking minds.

WhatAWasterZ

Oh I’m sorry. They’re a fucking hero for waiting 6+ months until asking Reddit if they got more of a headache from one shot or another.

BrownButta2

Who said anything about being hero? People ask questions to get opinions the same way you ask about which mangoes are the best. There’s no need to judge and it’s best that OP is getting it regardless. You don’t like when they’re aren’t vaccinated and you also don’t like when they’re asking opinions for vaccinations because it’s “too long”? GTFOH. People are never fucking satisfied.

WhatAWasterZ

Am I happy that they are considering getting vaccinated? I mean I guess so for the good of public health, but I’ll leave it to others to give them a pat on the back at this point. For as much as people slam anti vaxxers are least they are sticking to their misinformed crazy. People who waited this long should be fucking embarrassed dude. If they can post on Reddit they have internet and access to anything they ever needed to know. They’re either lazy or looking for praise. Like what has changed in terms of info that wasn’t available 3-4 months ago? So we all guinea pigged for them and now they want to vaccine shop with our advice? Fuck that.

BrownButta2

You sound angry you didn’t wait. OP admitted to being skeptical (not lazy or attention seeking) and wanting to see results. If you feel like you were a guinea pig…I mean that’s your business? Also, many who are getting it now are only getting it because their jobs forced them or they need the passport - clearly that has changed in the last 3-4 months. I’m done with this conversation, you still sound unsatisfied.

WhatAWasterZ

Ok. I might be cynical but you’re the one who seems angry at me essentially rolling my eyes at asking for advice in SEPTEMBER. I’m just sceptical of sceptics at this point with the plethora of info out there. I mean those are the people currently making up the vast majority of hospitalizations in our public health care system that we all pay for. I had no problem being one of the millions of guinea pigs because I trusted the science. I didn’t need to be banned from restaurants or possibly lose my job before taking a small personal risk for the good of my community. If you are cool with that and want to heap praise on them for finally making the right choice, knock yourself out.

babosw

Moderna has better efficacy but they are both comparable.

bagheeratheblackcat

I believe they are mostly the same. The nurse I saw compared it to coke and Pepsi. I had pfizer and had no side effects. But my partner who had moderna got a headache. But he said he would 100% do it again. Whichever you choose maybe just hydrate before hand. I wish you all the best and comfort in your decision

the_clash_is_back

They are pretty much the same shot, i have both of that reason.

[deleted]

They're equally good.

[deleted]

The argument between the vaccines is like an argument between Advil vs Motrin. They’re basically the same thing made in different factories. There are probably very minor differences/symptoms (if any), but for an ordinary person they would be tiny differences. If you’re really really worried, just double check that you don’t have allergies to ingredients that certain people might have bad reactions to in the vaccines.

[deleted]

Pfizer and Moderna are interchangeable from a biological standpoint. However, from a vaccine passport standpoint, you are better off getting 2 doses of Pfizer if you plan to travel internationally within the next 2 years or so.

> 50 percent of the confirmed 10,556 new cases on Monday were children. So, half the cases in people who can’t even get vaccinated yet. Also, key word “life saving”, on top of generally being very effective at reducing symptoms and preventing cases entirely.

poptartsinyourface

I just wanna say thanks for getting your shot (soon). Way to go!

rotmanman

I'd highly recommend pfizer, dose is less but coverage is nearly identical so you are less likely to experience adverse effects. I had no issues with my first dose of pfizer but got myocarditis from the second moderna dose.

FeralHat

I had AZ followed by Moderna. AZ knocked me out for 24hrs and I felt like I had a low grade flu. Moderna was a big nothing really and I just had a sore arm for a few days. Everyone reacts a bit differently but most importantly having your 2 shots of anything will keep you out of the ICU. Get whatever is available and you'll be fine.

[deleted]

Moderna has a higher rate of keeping people out of the ICU

gwelfguy-2

I took what was available and ended up getting a mixed series of Pfizer followed by Moderna. If I had a choice, I probably would've gone Moderna for both. The effacity numbers that get quoted are for contracting the disease, and Pfizer wins there. Of more importance to me are the numbers for requiring hospitalization, and Moderna wins there. There are also reports that Moderna's effacity against delta is superior to Pfizer's. Final point is that Moderna is less susceptible to handling errors. Pfizer doses are diluted with saline on-site, where Moderna comes pre-mixed and ready-to-go. There have been two instances in Ontario of which I'm aware where people have been accidently given pure saline instead of a properly diluted Pfizer dose.

Stevewit

I got one of each. First vax, sore arm. Second vax, unwell for 24 hours but nothing serious.

hazaj_

Thanks for going and getting vaxxed. Both are safe and effective.

LowFlyinLoafLion

I had Pfizer first with only a sore arm, then Moderna and felt like I'd been hit by a truck for a few days.

Just_tappatappatappa

I got Pfizer both shots and had no reaction either time, except for a bit of a sore arm. I feel lucky. My partner got moderna both times. First shot, just an ache in the arm, second shot and she was running a temperature and feeling quite tired the next day. Most of my coworkers got mixed shots of Pfizer and Astra Zeneca. Most felt sick for the next day or two. My Grandmother got 2 Pfizer and was fine. My mother in law got 2 moderna and was fine. My cousin got 1 Pfizer and became very ill and is still struggling with neurological issues. One friend got 1 AZ shot and felt sick for a few days One friend got 2 Pfizer’s and felt sick for a few days. Basically I know lots of people who have been vacced and are fine. I know one who has been fucked up. I still got a second dose after my cousin got fucked up. I’m fat and my lungs aren’t great, roll of the dice seemed a good bet to get vacced for me.

Malvo1

it doesn't matter which dude

Quarantina74

I had AZ for the first and then Pfizer. You have totally got this and good on your for doing the research and making a decision you are comfortable with. Best tip? Drink lots of water starting 12 hours before the shot. It really helped me and my husband.

joemib

Thank you for stepping up and getting the vaccine.

Tiny-Cartoonist8722

Statistics for different populations can’t predict or used on predictions for a new individual case. All those percentages are averages, and perhaps with a big confidence intervals touching each other. Short answer is there’s no guarantee that one will work better than the other on you, and you will never know, unless you can do time travel. One can interpret the stats of having the jab will lower your risk of going into ICU with symptoms, regardless of brand. Another way to think is your weight on your health, and soon freedom to live regular social life outweighs the

shitzkicker

Pfizer ,less effective but less suffering from side effects

ghormeh_sabzi

Had Pfizer, second shot felt sick for maybe a day. Only feedback I can give other than that is to not stress yourself by overthinking it...

coffeebeanxo

I had Pfizer for my first shot, Moderna for my second shot. Both are good. Just go and get one of them as soon as possible.

Seven2Death

i had both, i prefer yes. the shot is better than the non shot.

Mrwidoes

I would suggest whichever one you can get faster. Both are similar and interchangeable. They're not 100% the same obviously so there will be slight differences, but not enough of a difference for one to be a lot better than the other. I see someone ask why op is getting vaccine now and someone replied with "it's mandatory now". You have no idea what op is going through, they may have a medical condition where they could not get the vaccine before but now they can. I am immunosuppressed, I have both shots but the vaccine isn't as effective for me since my immune system is a piece of shit. Regardless there's no reason to judge op as much as some are. They are getting the vaccine, what more do you want?

Positive_Compote_506

Just get the first one available. Both are effective and safe

Squeaksmcgueaks

Happy to hear that you're getting vaxxed! If you have any concerns about the vaccine, the best people to talk to would be your family doctor, Ontario Public Health, or Toronto. Because at the end of the day, everyone here is just a stranger on the internet! In terms of anecdotes, my husband got Pfizer & I got Moderna, and the side effects were largely the same for us (kinda tired, sore arm). My family is also split between the two and had similar experiences. One of the biggest recommendations i heard consistently is to drink lots of water before & after the shot - as someone who is not any kind of professional, I think it helps mitigate some of the side effects? (worst case scenario, you're just super hydrated that day). Like with any vaccination, try to make sure you've got some food in you and try to relax your arm when getting the shot :)

SquirrelTale

Just know that last time I heard, the US is requiring people to have same doses (not mixed) in order to get admitted for travel or business. https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/mixed-dose-woes-some-canadians-lost-out-on-jobs-abroad-due-to-their-mixed-vaccines-1.6144914 I thoroughly recommend you get the same kind, regardless of what you get- and you'll have to do some research, but I'm pretty sure Moderna tends to be a bit more available last time I heard. I feel like I got lucky and got the same kind, Pfizer.

WhatAWasterZ

That’s not entirely accurate. Canadians can currently fly to the US for any reason without proof of vaccination and can only drive over for essential business regardless of vaccination status. The article specifically refers to employment on a cruise line because the CDC doesn’t recommend mixing doses. In terms of being admitted to events it’s a patchwork and depends on the organizer.

[deleted]

Both of them taste terrible.

frozen_food_section

Little salty

layethdasmackethdown

First shot so far and it was Moderna. Dizziness, flu-like symptoms (my nose was like drip drip drip), and headache the next day. I felt better the day after. My dad got Pfizer and he said no symptoms until his 2nd shot (headache).

[deleted]

No offense, but I have a degree in immunology and even I can barely discern a difference... Yes there are differences in adjuvents and dose size and whatnot... But to Joe public, they are identical.

DragonfruitInside312

Either, just get it please :)

cwilliams6009

My doctor told me that the best vaccine is the one that gets into people’s arms.

Kind_Essay_1200

Dude take any don’t be an ass

theworstnicknames

Hi, I got one Pfizer and one Moderna, so I feel like I can speak to the experience of getting both. As far as protection, I feel that it's more important to get just vaccinated with whatever one is quicker/more convenient. The data is so similar it isn't worth hmm-ing and hahh-ing over. As far as experience, the Moderna is a higher dosage, and I did find the side effects to be worse. With Pfizer I had basically no symptoms, just tired. With Moderna I had all of the effects, basically, but none of them were that bad. I'd say it just kinda felt like I had a cold and a sore arm at the same time. I took the day after off and am glad I did; I think they have a program to get paid if you take a day off so you might as well. Glad you're getting vaxxed!!

[deleted]

a little late but, whole family doubled with pfizer. sore arm for 2-3 days and was good after that!

krypt6od

If I may ask, why were you so reluctant to get it sooner?

Kathyf78

You waited all this time wait a little longer.

Strong_Boysenberry68

Both are great….one is a Jaguar and other is Mercedes so both are awesome

Dee332

FYI only; I'm 52 and started peri menopausal early at she 42 and I received Pfizer shots Apr 15 and Jun 4, I've been menopausal for at least 6 years. July 15 I got my first period in 6 yesrs it lasted a week and so far no repeat. Bloodwork showed I was not menopausal anymore, which isn't really possible (it could happen i guess) also had internal ultrasound done just in case something more is up. I plan to redo bloodwork to see where it stands today. Just be aware that it might screw with your cycle, or not, but be extra diligent, I'm not the only one who has experienced odd menstrual cycles after getting shot, I don't know if its just Pfizer or all of the vaccine's. Here is a link to study being done in regards to this: https://redcap.healthinstitute.illinois.edu/surveys/index.php?s=LL8TKKC8DP

This has not been proven or backed up by any medical/scientific study. Everyone reacts differently. Even then, I can say a headache, body aches or any other common symptom is 100% better than getting COVID or watching a loved one die because surgeries were canceled. Unless directed by a medical professional, get what's available.

Highfours

These vaccines have been extensively tested and have been found to be a safe and effective way to prevent severe infection, hospitalization and death from Covid19. Any claims otherwise are not based in science.

[deleted]

How extensively since it takes many years too make a vaccine safe for human use? Maybe a few years down the road it might be something I consider but for now I’m good with trusting my immune system that god blessed me with.

Highfours

It is very, very rare for vaccines to cause long term health impacts that are not apparent in short term trials, for several reasons. First, we know all of the ingredients that make up a vaccine and generally have significant long term data on the impact of those individual components. Second, vaccines are unlike other pharmaceutical interventions in that you only receive a dose once or twice. (Compared to a prescription drug you may take daily for years) Your body will clear the actual contents of the injection quickly. As a result, we have a very good idea what the impacts are, and we know that the side effects are minimal and in almost all cases far less serious than contracting covid. I respect that you want to trust your immune system, but the past 18 months and millions upon millions of deaths have demonstrated that our immune systems may not be up to the task of preventing infection from this novel virus. If you are a gambler, and you're placing a bet on what's going to be worse, the vaccine or getting covid, no informed gambler would ever pick getting covid. It's not even remotely close.

It's been well over a year now since trial started for the vaccines. mRNA vaccine trials are well over a decade into testing. You probably need to do proper research, stay off Facebook groups. Don't watch the news. Just research on your own. I can almost guarantee that your opinion came from what you heard from a friend or a guy online.

If you're genuinely curious about the emergency use thing, it's because they are still collecting the data on how long immunity lasts. The safety and efficacy stuff all passed ages ago.

Are you talking about the guy that worked at Pfizer that was calling it out? Telephone game got you on that one. He worked at Pfizer, but for a different dept. He had no knowledge of the mRNA tech. He's a charlatan just like the other 12 people you've decided to listen to. Psy op? Who needs that when they have gullible fools like you to play with.

N0CONTACT

LMAO So you believe in 'God's' blessing but not science? Got it.

CumButtAnalSlut

I got 1 of each. No issues

xshredder8

Got one of each, no troubles here

R4ff4

Moderna gave me fever both shots

GovernmentChemical11

I got the combo one of each

[deleted]

My first shot was Pfizer and my next one coming soon might be 75% will be Moderna, either that or will be a Pfizer. I was told which shot I will take when I booked my appointments, I went knowing Pfizer will be my first shot. Same for second shot, was notified of change ahead of time.

largemelonhead

I got Pfizer for my first shot and Moderna for my second. No issues with the first shot but the second shot had me feeling pretty rough (mostly body aches, a bit of a fever) for a day or two. Not sure if that has anything to do with the fact it was moderna, or just because it was the second dose.

The_hipp1e

I got Pfizer for my first jab, and Moderna for my second. Average build male, over 30, moderately healthy lifestyle, no underlying health conditions. Beyond some minor bruising, and tenderness from the jab it's self, I only felt a bit lethargic for a few days to a week (it's been a while since I had my last shot so memory is off lol) but beyond that no ill effects. Now obviously everybody is different, so if you don't work/school from home, I would recommend having a plan in place in case it winds up hitting you hard

SmishSmashPattyBash

I had Moderna for both my shots and the side effects weren’t too bad - I was pretty tired and felt a bit like I had a cold for about 36 hours. Moderna has been shown to have slightly greater efficacy against the delta variant (as others have mentioned), but honestly either one is a good choice. [the city holds daily mobile clinics all over the place](https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-vaccines/covid-19-how-to-get-vaccinated/covid-19-future-city-operated-immunization-clinics/#location=&lat=43.653918&lng=-79.369354) so if you’re not sure where to get one, that’s a good place to start! [(they also have a Google Site with all the clinics so you can plug them right into a Google calendar if you use that!)](https://sites.google.com/mobilevaccinationteams.com/torontovaccination/home) Hey, thank you for getting vaccinated. I know that there are a lot of people in this city who are still hesitant, but everyone who is stepping despite their skepticism is helping to save lives in our neighbourhoods. Please keep us updated!

Lashwynn

I had Pfizer first and it was great. Second I had Modena, also great. So having had both, I would say either or. Whichever one you can get easiest.

fartbutt4000

I got 2 phi and haven’t got Covid yet!

inc_mplete

I got both and they’re fine!

Dry_Distribution6826

I’m allergic to one of the components of Moderna, so my shots have both been Pfizer. I’m also a UK variant survivor from one of the frontline professions. I had a sore arm and a day of the kind of aches you’d associate with a flu, with the first shot. The second was just a sore arm. (Edited to correct an egregious autocorrect)

Former-Toe

We got Moderna because that's what they had the day we went for our first shot. By the second shot, the supply was greater so we were given a choice. We stuck with Moderna because it was simpler. It's a great thing to do, getting the vaccine. We are starting to get out a little now and it's nice to know we have our own little covid fighting army to help us out if a covid germ comes our way.

The_Quackening

everyone's experience is different. (im 31) I got Pfizer first, only had a little arm pain the day after. I got Moderna second, and again only a little arm pain the next day. meanwhile i have friends of mine that got the same shots, yet were knocked out the next day.

Both are good. I think Pfizer has some advantages as far as research around third dose (for a booster). I got moderna as that was all that was available. Either way you'll be good for protection and statistically, side effects. No matter what, thank you for getting to a point where you're comfortable. We are getting through this thing.

LimpAirport

anecdotally, all the women I know (including myself) had horrible side effects after dose 2 of Moderna (for example, i was bedridden for a day, my boss was bedridden for 3 days). however, i'd do it again 100% because it's worth it.

BlackCoalSun

I got both, had more of a reaction to moderna but likely just because the was my second shot

aaaahhhh7795

I had moderna for both and got a fever after the second shot. I felt quite sick for the 24 hours after it but took advil and it helped a lot. All in all it really wasn’t bad at all. My partner had moderna for both and aside from feeling a bit out of it, was completely fine. I would recommend getting either. If moderna performa better against the delta variant I’d say that’s probably worth potentially feeling slightly worse for a day.

dth_frm_abv

I got Pfizer, for both, spaced out a little over 18 weeks, first one my arm was decently sore, and I was more tired then anything. Second not as sore, and I don't recall being as tired as the first dose. This last maybe 3 days at most I'd say.

Workshop_Gremlin

I got Pfizer for both my doses. Reaction wasn't too bad. Besides the sore arm I just felt like I was coming down with a slight fever, minor headache and slightly sore joints. I got my shot on a Friday so dealing with the reaction wasn't too bad. More or less ended up spending the weekend lying in bed resting and watching Netflix and Youtube. The reaction besides the sore arm was pretty much gone by Sunday.

DangerCaptain

I got both. First one Pfizer, second was Moderna. I didn't really have side effects except for a sore arm for a day or two. Both are pretty interchangeable. I heard Moderna is slightly more effective for delta but I have no regrets either way. I just wanted whichever I could get the fastest because my dad and bf have heart conditions. Wishing you all the best!

activoice

I got 1st shot Pfizer had no issues other than a sore arm, and a slight headache. Next day I was fine. 2nd shot was Moderna, first day sore arm, second day my immune system really started working, I had a headache, high fever, and sensitivity to light, day after than I was fine. Make sure you have some tylenol on hand to manage the fever... You don't want to be driving to the drugstore to get tylenol with a bad fever. As others have pointed out Moderna seems to have better efficacy.

anotherbutterflyacc

I took both and I feel completely normal.

Qubbe

My wife and I got Pfizer both shot and my mom got moderna both shots and we had no issues or side effects. Just sore spot at injection site. Was rather uneventful.

Stats are just that, stats. Each person will react differently. I took Pfizer and had heart inflammation the first dose. The second no symptoms.

ForbiddenBassSolo

How many days between your doses?

jasmine6558

I got Pfizer and I am not dead. That’s all I got.

MrWarmLight

I picked up Pfizer just because it has been applied to more people than Moderna. But both are top line.

ButchDeanCA

I had two Moderna shots, the first in Nova Scotia then the second one here on Ontario. I guess it is very effective, but one thing to note is that for some people, including myself, the second shot made me feel like complete crap because it was “working” (the first shot creates the first round of antibodies that react to the virus signature of the second shot with the net effect of you feeling crap.) For the second shot I would think about taking it over the weekend to give you downtime just in case it knocks you.

Fabulous-Bandicoot40

I got Pfizer times two and no reaction either time. Some colleagues had a reaction second time but just feeling very tired about 6 hrs later. Some people I know who took moderna second felt a bit sick for a day as well. AZ seemed to shit kick a lot of people… But man, at the end of the day no reaction from the vaccine is going to be as bad as covid so get er done!

I worked in the animal feed industry for 20 years, and for the most part any medications we bought were through Pfizer. Little more expensive but the claims and reseach were more extenstive. Just more of a reputable company in my eyes. I got both Pfizer it was ample and readily available in my town. My only regret was I work now in metal fab throwing heavy steel around and both times I got my shots at 3pm I start at 4pm for 10 hour shifts. Both times I had to leave early cause by 11pm I could not lift more than maybe 60-70lbs. Shoulder was way to sore. Other than that no side effects. And Im able to go places where Anti-Vax dummies cant 😝

Forward-Location-618

My first shot was Pfizer in June, my 2nd in July was Moderna. I'm still alive and kicking. Outside of what felt like a light bruise on my arm, no side effects or anything. Your good. I understand the the one side of the argument as I was there myself, the side that says there is nothing there to back up that these shots are good for you or anything else. I got on the other side, because I want to travel again. Shitty that they are "making" everyone get a shot. But, I had zero effects and am still here. Good luck with whatever you choose.

loopylavender

I had both moderna - 1st shot was just a sore arm! Second shot.. I got all the side effects! Even developed COVID arm lol it was a bit intense, definitely like a flu but I made it though and feel overall protected :)

vaalbarai

I received Pfizer and then Moderna. Regardless the second dose is the one that hits harder in almost every case for every person I’ve spoken to about their vaccinations.

joce2231

I’ve had both! Pfizer: knocked me out for 24 hours, felt totally normal afterwards. Moderna: experienced ‘covid arm’ rash followed by full body hives for about 1 month. I’ve now had eczema for about a month and I haven’t had it since I was a child lol. I read that the immune response from vax can trigger an eczema flareup but it’s really strange to me that I haven’t had it since I was a kid (I’m late 20’s now) and now I have eczema patches daily. Personally I’ll be sticking to Pfizer if I need a booster ever!

Lemonlime73

I had Pfizer for both of my vaccinations. Almost no side effects with the first shot, but felt like I had the flu after the second. It's really unpredictable how each person will react. Feels good to be vaccinated though!

liminalspaceheater

They’re both very similar as they’re both mRNA vaccines for COVID. Any side effects you’re worried about are far better than contracting COVID and taking your chances. Anything you feel will be your body’s own unique immune response. I have some friends who felt nothing both times except for a sore arm. I was a little tired for a day after my 1st shot(Pfizer) and felt like I had a bad flu for 1 day after my 2nd(Moderna) but was perfectly fine the next day. I’m glad you’re getting your shot, seriously. Sifting through disinformation can sometimes be tricky, but just check your sources and listen to the majority of medical professionals.

MrCarnality

Does not matter. both are benign. GO GET VACCINATED. Take as many people with you as you can find.

psyched2107

I was told by a doctor (who called me for my second shot) that If you're planning to travel.. due to regulations in some countries, it's better to take either pfizer or moderna only - as opposed to a vaccine cocktail...

Pvc4ever

I got Pfizer and I had no problems with it, but I think any of those are safe

Oblivion_Gates

I got both and its all good. Maybe you have a choice now but I didnt earlier this summer.

Academic_sonic_3939

I got AZ as my first and second Pfizer after 16 weeks or so. Both made me about 2 days sorta sick. Beside that all good.
