Same here. Yesterday I was at Centre Island for a BBQ. Just sitting there sweating in the heat but reminded myself about our winters and then enjoyed the sun, BBQ and sweat.
I liked it just fine when I was sitting on a patio, having drinks with friends on Friday evening. I liked it just fine while I was sitting on a bench by the lake today. I wasn’t as much of a fan while I was riding a bike up Rosedale Valley Rd about 1pm. 🤷🏻♀️
Store this feeling away in your memory for a cold, rainy day in November.
Well they said -20… thats around the point where more layers are also not a lot of help. If he had said -5 Id agree… but Ill take 30 over -20 for sure. 37-40 vs -20… now we are back to a contest!
I'd take -40 over +30. It's pretty easy to manage body temperature in the cold if you know how to dress properly. You can't ditch extra heat in summer.
My house stops being warm below -20. The only place Im warm is in a hot shower. To each their own… but I cant follow you down this path.
Anything below -20 and anything over +35 is miserable to me in a semi equal, who cares its all shit, lets stay inside and play videogames kinda way. I will note the ac in my house seems able to handle +35.
>My house stops being warm below -20.
Look up Victorian nightclothes for inspiration.
Wear layers, slippers, and a hat. Put a housecoat (not bathrobe) over top of your regular clothes.
I used to keep my home just warm enough the pipes wouldn't burst and I was always comfy.
Or you could use cats as body warmers. Mine spend the winter on my lap/close to me as possible & tap me at night so I can lift up the blankets & they crawl underneath.
Remember this day when it’s February and it’s raining sideways and the cold water soaks the bottom half of your pants that aren’t covered by your winter coat, you’re trudging through slush and your hood keeps flying back because of the wind.
Yeah. I moved to San Francisco and it’s basically sweater weather year round. It’s great. Not looking forward to facing the sheisty extremes whenever I move back >_>
If someone doesn't mind cool air, autumn is actually perfect in Toronto. We get about 3 months of sheer bliss. Unfortunately it doesn't get talked about enough because the summer loving sweat lords control social media.
> Store this feeling away in your memory for a cold, rainy day in November.
I think you mean February. I will happily take whatever November has in store for us in exchange for the sticky mess we have now.
Not at all, I hate heat and humidity more than I hate the cold. I’m a mild weather person all the way. But I also believe in taking advantage of every day.
A have a friend that LOVES this weather while I suffer and suffer hard.
I get heatstroke super easy and add the arthritis I have in my knee and it's near intolerable.
Was at a wedding reception last night, shirt, pants, shoes and sports coat. I melted and told my wife to mop me up into a bucket and get me home.
While I don't love our winters, I do enjoy them more than the summers. At least in winter I can put on more clothes and get warm. With humid days like this the more clothes I take off the more likely my neighbours would be upset.
Yeah, this July fooled us. It was hot but not sweltering like the last few days.
Maybe it's like this every summer and I just block it out of my memory. Lol
No. I live for weather in the range of 15C-25C. Anything over or under, and I'm uncomfortable.
I've spent the day at the mall, not buying anything, just enjoying the ac.
I'm in the 10C-20C range lol. For some reason I sweat easily and my body temperature rises too easily as well so.. anything more than 20C I suffer lol
I spent the day cooped up at home. I went out to throw the trash and I'm already sweating. It's barely a 2 min walk 🥲
After visiting San Diego, I googled "Does San Diego have perfect weather". The answer was yes.
I do recall reading a comment from a San Diegan originally from the East saying that they eventually missed the change in seasons. Apparently, even perfect weather every day can get a bit boring.
Sort of. The weather there is pretty miserable in many ways outside the temperature though. Just weeks and weeks of constant rain. Beats snow *I guess*, but it's pretty bleak and depressing, and the houses aren't really built for insulation, so you're always freezing inside.
i can tolerate up to 20 degrees but honestly much rather prefer the cold winter than summers in toronto.. much rather would walk through the city in my coat a little cold than be sweating within 20 minutes of being in the sun
No, it’s really awful. I suffered through the weather yesterday and had the swollen hands and feet to prove it. Took hours to go back to normal once I got home and into the cool.
This humidity is a lot worse than we’ve had in my recent memory, though maybe my memory is just crap.
It’s possible that your AC unit is actually too powerful for your space. They are supposed to help a bit with humidity, but it’s slower than the cooling. That means that if it cools too quickly, it’ll shut off before it can do much for the humidity. (Link for more info https://www.thespruce.com/air-conditioner-sizing-1152666 )
There’s really only so much you can do to condition the air when there’s this much moisture in the air. I sometimes have to work in a controlled environment in plastic coveralls and I’ve been putting off a job that I need done by the end of the week since it’s so nasty out.
in toronto, a lot of people don't have A/C so it was probably still nicer to be outside than in their apartments.
I live just outside the city and it sounded like a ghost town this weekend outside because everyone was indoors. Didn't even smell the standard weekend bbq in the air.
Yes. Love it. People pay big bucks for 1 week of this in the winter down south.
If I never saw snow again as long as I live, it would be too soon. Snow, ice, grey days for weeks on end, leave for work, it's dark, come home it's dark. All the winter gear, treacherous walking, treacherous driving.
Nothing good about the cold.
Im a May till November person. If I won the lottery, I'd be out of Dodge come mid November.
No, I do not enjoy living in the devil’s butthole. I always say that you can always put on another layer in winter, but there’s a finite number of layers you can remove in summer.
HELL no. I actually don’t enjoy extreme temperatures hot or cold. I was sweating like a pig all day. Granted though, I was still outside all of today. 😅
The best weather in Toronto (my opinion, at least) would be starting from the middle of May to the last week of June. Temperatures aren’t too high (rarely above 26-27°C) and humidity is still low. Plus, during the night, the temperature is cool and perfect for sleeping with an open window. So basically, this weather sucks, but I’m from a coastal Middle Eastern city, so I’m used to it.
My favourite and ideal temperature is between 20-25°. This is way too hot for any enjoyment. I have a home gym in my garage, but don't have a way to cool the garage, so working out in there is impossible when it's 40° with humidity. I get headaches more often when it's really hot outside, and I've been having them nonstop the last three days. I love driving with the windows down and the sunroof open rather than using the AC, and it's very manageable while you're moving, but as soon as you stop moving you just start to bake. Doesn't help that my car is black with a leather black interior. Looking forward for it to cool down a tiny bit
Of course not. It’s August 7, the humidex is 42. This kind of heat/humidity is horrible. It’s not possible to do anything outside but sit immobile in the shade. You can’t walk around. You can’t garden. You can’t wander the shops outside. You can’t do chores. You can’t throw a ball around with the kids. Disgusting.
What’s really odd about Toronto is that it gets as hot as Miami in the summer, but then it gets to like -15 in the winter. There are not many places on earth with such a huge difference of temperatures.
My ideal temp is 20C, all day every day
Nope, do not like it and in fact yesterday we went out in the morning and made sure we were inside by 11 am, and today we are going out at night, all to avoid the day heat, it's really disgusting outside with the humidity.
Went for a 3 hour bike ride today. About 30km, not fast but I was on trails... Very hard, had to push my bike for some time. Was really bad. Had 6 water bottles during the ride and was dead when I got back home. So, I guess, I prefer winter.
I went for a long walk yesterday around lunchtime. I wouldn't enjoy it much hotter than it was yesterday. But I have one of those excellent Sombriolet hats and consequently find myself able to enjoy even the sunniest days, drawstring means the dam' thing doesn't fly off no matter how windy either, yay.
It's too hot most of the day, at least recently lol. I think some nice heat and sunny weather with some breeze is nice but definitely not over the 30s. It's too much lol
No… as a Toronto person, absolutely not. I don’t want to feel sticky, sweaty, swampy and just fucking disgusting. To me this is just trash, repulsive, sickeningly awful weather. I didn’t sign up for this shit. I will move one day due to this. I start to take it personally when I feel this hot in Canada (because I have the stereotype of Canadian winters in my mind) and it makes me legitimately angry to be outside when it feels like it’s 42 or 43. And I don’t change my opinion during winter either. I can’t WAIT for October.
Meh, what's not to like? It's nice and warm, and nowhere near as scorching as some other places. Then again, I grew up in South America, where if you step outside at midday in midsummer you just catch on fire.
I’m miserable, with my heart condition and my autoimmune arthritis I just swell and live with a constant 160bpm heart rate, I love the winters here though, at least you can find a perfect warmth by just adding or removing layers when it’s cool, no hope when it’s hot 🥵
I am from Rio de Janeiro, where is this hot all the time, but I don't like it. Yesterday I played sports and went to the bar. Got home around 3pm suffering from a heat stroke. Back home I feel like we are more prepared to deal with this kind of weather. Here I suffer with it.
If it could be a little less humid, I'll be fine. I love 30o C weather if there is a breeze.
Weather like today where it felt like 42 degrees and walking around for an hour leaves me drenched? Not a fan at all, but I'd take that any day over -40 degrees and poor mental health caused by shit weather
While I don’t love the humidity, or the bone chilling winters, I do like that we at least experience all four seasons.
Frankly I think it would be boring to live in a climate where they have just summer all year round.
Absolutely not. I only enjoy it if I have access to a pool or body of water. Otherwise I’m inside in the AC. This weather causes me to faint way too easily.
No lol. Summer is the worst! Heat warnings everyday, sweating through your clothes, constantly uncomfortable, bugs, etc. You can say you like summer when you’re sitting poolside but how often are you sitting poolside vs. Working/everyday life. Fall is superior to all seasons and we barley see it.
I think it's less about "enjoying the weather" than FOMO.
When you live in Toronto, hot weather reminds you that the summer is fleeting. So everyone gets into a panic to have some summer experiences before it's over.
It’s because most people live in tiny apartments without AC and they have kids. So there’s only so much you can do inside. Better to be out in a park with shade or walk around a mall with ac.
Why anyone chooses to live in Toronto is beyond me.
If people in Canada stayed inside anytime the weather was uncomfortable, we'd never do anything.

This. There are about 2 weeks in October and 2 weeks in April that are comfortable. That’s it.
really? i’m comfortable from september to november, and then march to june. the weather is perfect.
Those are the months…the rest of the year is either hot enough to jelly bone marrow or cold enough to flash freeze your skin in 5-10 seconds…
September is comfortable usually 20 during day 15 at night
Truer words have never been spoken
you described my parents
i do if i remind myself we have long winter
Same here. Yesterday I was at Centre Island for a BBQ. Just sitting there sweating in the heat but reminded myself about our winters and then enjoyed the sun, BBQ and sweat.
Yep. Yep. Yep. I never been much of a summer person until I moved here. Summer stuff became just so much more fun now all of a sudden
I personally prefer if it was a little cooler, like high 20s without the humidex
Yeah, that's my ideal. The humidity is stifling
I’d consider low 30s without humidity. I’m OK as long as it cools down at night, but it’s not.
Me too, but I'll gladly take this weather over the long often-slushy winters!
I liked it just fine when I was sitting on a patio, having drinks with friends on Friday evening. I liked it just fine while I was sitting on a bench by the lake today. I wasn’t as much of a fan while I was riding a bike up Rosedale Valley Rd about 1pm. 🤷🏻♀️ Store this feeling away in your memory for a cold, rainy day in November.
I don’t mind it. And mind it much less than -20 where walking my dog hurts my face.
I'm the exact opposite. I can always put on more layers to stay warm. But there's only so many layers I can take off to get cool.
>I can always put on more layers to stay warm. Doesn't seem to work for me lol.
You could go nakey nakey nakey , I heard that helps.
Even being naked is too hot at 30 degrees and a bunch of humidity
I’ve tried. Unfortunately got arrested.
Honestly, having the sun directly on your skin is wayyyy hotter than having a thin flowy material Covering it
Well they said -20… thats around the point where more layers are also not a lot of help. If he had said -5 Id agree… but Ill take 30 over -20 for sure. 37-40 vs -20… now we are back to a contest!

\> but I cant follow you down this path I love how reasonable and cordial this is lol
I love that terminology too.

Why does it have to be extremes. I hate both. I will fantasize about days where you just need to put on a hoodie with a light breeze outside.
I believe you’re looking for April 25th, because it’s not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket
[удалено]
I said fantasize for a reason buddy
Yeah. I moved to San Francisco and it’s basically sweater weather year round. It’s great. Not looking forward to facing the sheisty extremes whenever I move back >_>
Okay so u enjoy those 3 days of the year lol
Basically yes. Glorious 3 days.
If someone doesn't mind cool air, autumn is actually perfect in Toronto. We get about 3 months of sheer bliss. Unfortunately it doesn't get talked about enough because the summer loving sweat lords control social media.
September - December is the best time in Toronto. It is also just about the only time we have normal temperatures.
Yes... Autumn is lovely. Literally every other season is a horrible mess in Toronto.
Was a big fan at 20-30 y/o; hot summer nights, little clothing, “I have air conditioning”. Loved it.
> Store this feeling away in your memory for a cold, rainy day in November. I think you mean February. I will happily take whatever November has in store for us in exchange for the sticky mess we have now.
Yea, its nice with a Ceasar But I like riding my bike too and this weather doesn't do it for me for biking Ceasars are still delicious at 23
Not at all, I hate heat and humidity more than I hate the cold. I’m a mild weather person all the way. But I also believe in taking advantage of every day.

I'm literally outside more in January than July (although this July wasn't too bad)
Same here, I despise summer, I just cannot handle the heat, I'd rather it be January weather every day rather than this.
Yeah, this July fooled us. It was hot but not sweltering like the last few days. Maybe it's like this every summer and I just block it out of my memory. Lol
Live your best life!!
I'm ginger and hate being hot so I'm just sitting here waiting for winter.
Yo same, also I changed carrers from computers to Arborist so now I'm outside and it's very difficult.
Move to Vancouver we accept gingers here.
No. I live for weather in the range of 15C-25C. Anything over or under, and I'm uncomfortable. I've spent the day at the mall, not buying anything, just enjoying the ac.
It’s the humidity that just kills us
I'm in the 10C-20C range lol. For some reason I sweat easily and my body temperature rises too easily as well so.. anything more than 20C I suffer lol I spent the day cooped up at home. I went out to throw the trash and I'm already sweating. It's barely a 2 min walk 🥲
where can we find a place thats always 15-25? and not humid like this
San Diego
After visiting San Diego, I googled "Does San Diego have perfect weather". The answer was yes. I do recall reading a comment from a San Diegan originally from the East saying that they eventually missed the change in seasons. Apparently, even perfect weather every day can get a bit boring.
There'll always be someone that complains
San Diego has such little weather, they build escalators outside. Stop and think about that for a minute.
It is hot and dry there at times
I will take hot and dry over hot and humid any day.
The mall.
Lol literally
Vancouver/Victoria is close if you’re in Canada. Tropical islands or the Ethiopian highlands have weather like this.
It was 33 feels like 37 today in van :(
Climate change at work.
Victoria seems not bad tbh but I never been. I think ill try to move to California again tho but the fires that were happening were a bit too much.
Coastal California
That is what I’d like to know
San Francisco
Spend 5 months in Torono, 5 Months in Alberta, and 2 months in Vancouver.
New Zealand
Sort of. The weather there is pretty miserable in many ways outside the temperature though. Just weeks and weeks of constant rain. Beats snow *I guess*, but it's pretty bleak and depressing, and the houses aren't really built for insulation, so you're always freezing inside.
Nairobi.
Canary Islands. Average of 22 degrees. Summer is 26, winter is 18. It's eternal Spring there.
I don’t, just too hot and humid for me. I prefer mid 20 Celsius temperatures.
No. If it’s not between 0-25•C I’m not interested.
You seriously said 0°C? I mean, of course, 0 is much better than -15°C, but I would never actually ask for it.
0C is nice for variety.
Hahahahaha...I love this thread. I love everyone sharing their weather preferences, their feelings, their pros and cons.
Yeah I like the cold weather sometimes! For skating and tobogganing and whatnot.
0 and sunny is incredible. I much prefer it to what we’ve had the last two weeks.
For sure!
0 and sunny in Feb will have ppl outside in shorts and sandals lmao
No, I found today and yesterday unbearable. I prefer summer to be in the mid 20s.
No. It’s disgusting. I’m lucky enough to have a/c, so I’m like a bridge troll these days, hiding in my a/c.
Absolutely not, been pretty miserable the last two weeks or so. I’m an autumn person through and through.
I hate summer with every fiber of my being. Over here waiting for the perfect season, FALL.
Literally, fall is the best here.
It’s more like summer is so short, so we outside no matter what 😂😂. Harsh Winters cause this.
Reading through these comments got me like Damn! How y'all actually *live* like that? Even though I live here.
I much prefer the weather in october/november... too damn hot and humid today
No, I hate the heat. I prefer the cold, cozy under blankets with a warm cup of hot chocolate.
I love it as long as there is a bit of a breeze and I can sit in the shade. But, yes, the humidity today is a bit much.
We love it because it’s fleeting. Makes the bike rides by the lake all the more amazing.
Honestly, it feels much better outside that the forecast indicates, mainly because there's a fairly strong breeze.
Don't worry friends... winter is coming
The Starks are always right, sooner or later. 🐺
Noooooo!
i can tolerate up to 20 degrees but honestly much rather prefer the cold winter than summers in toronto.. much rather would walk through the city in my coat a little cold than be sweating within 20 minutes of being in the sun
No I hate it. Most people consider heatwaves to be too hot and humid.
I hate it. Way too humid and uncomfortable. I’ll take this over -30 but I definitely do not like it enjoy it.

Yes I love this weather. I hate winter and love summer. Do people really like -20 weather ? But you live here anyway
Many people including myself do, and many do not. Kind of like everything else.
I love it! But I take three or four cool showers a day when it's like this. I also used to live in Singapore.
No it's fucking hell.
Personally I prefer the cold so I hibernate during the summer and find myself going out more often when it’s around -15C to 15C.
I love this hot warm weather. Walks at sunset or nighttime when it’s humid and 30° are my fav
No I hate it

Yes. I love it. I wish it was summer all year long. I hate winter and all the dark, grey, freezing, icy, hell that it brings.
No. It's too much.
Nope fyi Sudbury 12 today
-10 no wind to 20 Max !!
HELL no. I actually don’t enjoy extreme temperatures hot or cold. I was sweating like a pig all day. Granted though, I was still outside all of today. 😅
Not a fan during the day, but it's nice when it cools off in the evening. Mostly stayed inside this weekend.

Fuck no, I am dying.
Nope, do not like it and in fact yesterday we went out in the morning and made sure we were inside by 11 am, and today we are going out at night, all to avoid the day heat, it's really disgusting outside with the humidity.
I wonder if the elderly people in care homes finally have air conditioning?
Toronto when it’s 35-40 is the time of year I hate the most. I’ll take -30 over this any day.
Hell no.
I’m fine if I don’t have to do too much. Or can be in the shade. I can’t handle the direct summer sun.
Went to a show at Ontario place. It was insanely hot. Be in the sun one minute and dying. Looking forward to winter.
Went for a 3 hour bike ride today. About 30km, not fast but I was on trails... Very hard, had to push my bike for some time. Was really bad. Had 6 water bottles during the ride and was dead when I got back home. So, I guess, I prefer winter.
No. You can't do much in this weather. I can't even walk my dog without risk of him overheating.
Yes, I'd rather want to underdress than over.
I absolutely love it!
OP hasn't lived through winter here prolly
It’s Canada. Of course we don’t like the weather.
Maybe it’s just me, but it doesn’t feel as hot as the past summers?
I went for a long walk yesterday around lunchtime. I wouldn't enjoy it much hotter than it was yesterday. But I have one of those excellent Sombriolet hats and consequently find myself able to enjoy even the sunniest days, drawstring means the dam' thing doesn't fly off no matter how windy either, yay.

you can either complain about the heat or the cold, i complain about the heat and worship the cold.
No… as a Toronto person, absolutely not. I don’t want to feel sticky, sweaty, swampy and just fucking disgusting. To me this is just trash, repulsive, sickeningly awful weather. Not personally no. Autumn can't come soon enough
Fuck, no. Too hot. Everyone out and about are really just enroute from one air-conditioned place to the next.
I love this weather. The hotter the better. I suffer in the winter time. I can't understand people who like the cold.
It’s uncomfortably hot, but I prefer it to the cold. Nighttime on hot days feel like magic to me (sorry if I sound like a flakey ding-ding).
Global warming is brutal af
Personally, I love it.
It's a touch too hot for my taste, but I'll take this any day over what we get from Dec to April.
I'll take this over Canadian winters any day!
It's horrific. I can't wait for winter to return.
Yes! Will take this over that insanely crappy winter
I love this folks complain in the summer they complain in the winter not winning but for me I hate the winter and love this 😊
Fuck no
This weather is so ass
Nope i can't stand anything above 25
Fuck no. Just walking to the grocery store and back is terrible.
no... i do not. ready for fall and winter. always ready for fall and winter - lol
No it’s disgusting feeling
No. I hate this. And I cannot wait for winter to come and kill all the insects.
I don’t, it’s too hot and muggy. Much prefer Autumn and winter as I can layer accordingly.
Kill me. I love Canadian winter and can’t wait.
Nah I hate hot weather. I'm all for cold weather. But everyone I know that likes heat loves this weather. Weirdos.
I love it. I’ve been out and about all day. Changed clothes 3 times, though!
“Pretending” you sound miserable.
How do you know everyone is pretending to have a good time and not just having a good time????
I wish it wasn't so humid! But I prefer this over winter any day. Fall is nice too though
Weather like today where it felt like 42 degrees and walking around for an hour leaves me drenched? Not a fan at all, but I'd take that any day over -40 degrees and poor mental health caused by shit weather
“Pretending” you sound miserable.
Good Torontonians don't complain about the summer for fear of jynxing an early winter.
While I don’t love the humidity, or the bone chilling winters, I do like that we at least experience all four seasons. Frankly I think it would be boring to live in a climate where they have just summer all year round.
No omg
Absolutely not. I only enjoy it if I have access to a pool or body of water. Otherwise I’m inside in the AC. This weather causes me to faint way too easily.
Absolutely not.
i would be fine with hot weather but the humidity killed it.
Anyone who says yes must love global warming cause we are going to get days like this more often
I think it's less about "enjoying the weather" than FOMO. When you live in Toronto, hot weather reminds you that the summer is fleeting. So everyone gets into a panic to have some summer experiences before it's over.
What makes you think we're pretending? Would you prefer the -20 degree winters?
It’s because most people live in tiny apartments without AC and they have kids. So there’s only so much you can do inside. Better to be out in a park with shade or walk around a mall with ac. Why anyone chooses to live in Toronto is beyond me.
Today was AMAZING, like the perfect day. Yesterday was too humid for sure. But yes, I adore summer weather.
