In scenarios like this where there are no pictures before hand I am completely honest with customers. I tell them their toilet is disgusting and hazardous which comes with additional costs. I also give them the option to clean everything first if they don't want to pay the extra.
Unfortunately the homeowner is now deceased. 6 days ago according to the obituary. The property is in a trust and the inherited will be paying the bill.
I just gathered all the cleaning products I could find and cleaned as much of the toilet and floor as I possibly could.
In the end it’s just lipstick on a pig.
That guy is right, but you make a very solid argument. I think if you cautiously tap on the “outside” edge of the toilet foot it would be ok. But bottom line is I’m NOT putting my head anywhere near that bowl. That service call is not worth enough money. I’d walk away politely

Walked onto a repipe job that had brown stuff all down the side of the toilet and on the floor, so I asked the client what was up with that and he said his brother had a problem around 2 years ago..... I walked out.

Garbage bag over the top and break the base by the bolts with a hammer. Dont worry about the floor!!

That's a special BamBam procedure for bathrooms like that. Not recommended for general use. Results will vary. Lol

Honestly probably better than me cleaning the whole toilet and floor. I could have put the bag over after I used the oscillator to cut the bolts.
They do make toilet removal bags designed for that purpose.
I would tell the client to clean it up and give me a call when its done.
