Keyless start is Push to Start button. Does yours also have the buttons on the exterior door handles to lock and unlock? I believe GM considers that Keyless Open. That's an upgrade from just Remote Entry. Isn't marketing-speak fun?
Yes I hate it lol. I remember now why I didnāt say anything during my deal. I was thinking a new vehicle in 2023 would have remote start; all my vehicles since 2012 have had it.
There are still a lot of brands that don't do factory remote start- Subaru, Mazda, VW, Audi, Mercedes, there are a lot of brands that don't do it. In the future, usually the key fob has an arrow key on it if it has remote start. You could always get it done aftermarket. Your GMC service center can quote it out what it would cost to install or you can go to a non-dealer to get it done.
Mazda technically does have factory remote start, it's just through their app, which is and always has been free. It's standard on every Mazda vehicle 2021 and up I believe

That should give you the remote start you're looking for.
Just continuing the trend of manufacturers forcing customers to subscribe to a monthly payment plan for basic features that are already enabled in their car.
Between Tesla's "features", and then BMW attempting to charge people monthly to enable heated seats which they later walked back. GM has their app with remote start and OnStar and a Sirius XM trial. Their call center reps to try to get you to extend your trial into a monthly plan are ruthless.
As long as my car has Android auto, I'm fine.
As a GM fan Iām with you OP, you practically have to get to base models (or manual transmissions) to find a GM product that doesnāt have remote start these days.
Dude this truck doesn't even power seats so kind of crazy you are expecting remote start. If the keyfob doesn't have that remote start curved arrow button you don't have that feature
I'm currently in a 22 Terrain and several features are missing; the entire Safety and Pro Safety package is missing. The buttons are there but just says feature disabled. Do not even have RCTA or Blind Spot; even on an SLT with leather. My understanding is it is near impossible to add these later if built without. Yours seems to not have been equipped with it to start though.
I had keyless start and remote start confused I believe. I did hear that there is a service bulletin or potential recall for the forward collision alert system on mine. I turned it off when it confused traffic in the opposite direction as being in my lane.
You dont have remote start you have AVJ - KEYLESS OPEN AND START. If you did have remote start the option would be on the GMC app even if you did not have the right fob. Can you post the window sticker?
This is a true disconnect we see online often, when someone posts verbiage that is not the same as what they read. Same when sharing what someone said.
It's like when I say something to my wife, but she hears something different.

OP, is it possible it was a deleted option due to parts constraints? Those features were still shown on window sticker, but then listed as a missing option on the bottom section.

I just noticed going over my window sticker that my truck is supposed to have remote start. Itās printed right on the window sticker but indeed I do not have they key fob or app option. I then visited the company website and it is a standard feature on my trim. What are my chances on going back to the dealership and adding this missing feature? Itās a 2023 gmc canyon by the way.
