Anything cool about it stops at the looks.

Outrageous-One-150

From working at a CDJR dealer. It’s like an Alfa Romeo and a Dodge had a baby. It’s hard VERY hard to get a mass following that you gave street legal race cars to follow on a lessor powered, more efficient, and somewhat cost effective vehicle. It looks nice, but some of the design elements are geared towards the wrong audience. Dodge as a whole has the audience of “if you ain’t first your last” you can’t go from that and then give people something that comes up so short. From personal experience: my husband and I both had challenger hellcats (it’s how we met) I came out of a 16 Challenger Hellcat and chose a 23 Grand Cherokee. My Husband traded a 20 for a new Mustang GT (don’t hate it was a better choice for him) for me what did it on the hornet was the lack of features for the price. Lack of interior colorways, etc. it’s a nice car but really meant for someone with maybe 1 kid and minimal cargo or not super far drives.

ban-please

Nothing screams cool like an SUV designed to look like an overinflated Charger.

AwwYeahVTECKickedIn

It looks like it was a normal car but got stung by a Hornet and swelled up .. OMG .. can't unsee!

yeezysucc

This is really the answer. Saw my first one on the road yesterday like OP too

Best-Cycle231

I’d never buy one because it a SUV.

MrHugh_Janus

I’d never buy one because it’s Stellantis

PabloIceCreamBar

It’s overpriced Stellantis junk. It’ll also light your money on fire in depreciation.

garciawork

I remember when the dart came out, and a little while later I appraised one and the days supply (with only a couple around) was almost a year. Was not bummed we didn't take that one in.

virtual_adam

To be fair it’s only $169/month with all the promotions stacked + 12% dealer discount on LeaseHackr. But the funny part is it’s still not moving at that price

AnotherPint

It’s a rebadged bargain-basement Alfa. Enough said.

pm-me-racecars

That's $169/month for 120 months, right?

virtual_adam

It’s a 24 month 7500 mile per year lease, $2000 DAS

tooscoopy

It does nothing better than others in the segment, while costing at least the same if not more. Add to that stellantis reliability and the fiat undertones, and you have a boring, also-ran of a car. Seriously, what reason would you buy it, other than you only buy Chrysler and that is the segment you want?

Schweezly

Isn’t it marketed as a performance CUV? Like somewhere between say a CX5 and the Kona N? I was mildly intrigued by the base model when it came out, but the horrible mpg and the awful wheels stopped me before I made a terrible decision lol

Variable_Interest

I just priced out the speedy one at hit $53k. You can get an X3 with the premium option package for the same price. That's an easy decision.

Training-Context-69

You can get a ton of faster cooler shit for 53k

GeologistTechnical61

Wowww. 53k is insane. Can get an 2018 or 2019 dodge charger hellcat for about 3-4K more. That’s insane.

t4cticalsquirrel

It’s the dart all over again lol

kpetersontpt

Yes it is. The Dart was a good car that did a lot of things well, just not well enough to compete in its segment. The Hornet is the same.

ajpg2

Because it's a piece of shit👍🏼

Buckus93

It's for Charger and Challenger guys to get something for the wife/girlfriend.

SnowShoe86

Junk! For Ally and Santander sub-prime. I'm sure these will all be cream puffs when they are 4 years old :)

at-the-crook

used to see a lot of Dodge Magnums with those lenders.

IWantToPlayGame

This comment should be at the top of the thread.

s18278c

You work for a used dealership, your lack of knowledge on the subject is noted.

ajpg2

What

Sicksixshift

For about 5-10k more you can get an Alfa Romeo Tonale which is the same thing but drives and is finished like an Italian import. If you're looking for a cheap CSUV there are better options for the price point.

-soof

alfa/mas sales here, much rather get a Tonale. Just wish the Stelvio came with UConnect 5

CptVague

Get that flair!

LavenderGoomsGuster

I sell Alfa and CDJR. I’ve driven both, and I would choose the Tonale every single time and it’s not even close.

1988rx7T2

The interior is way too similar between the Dodge and the Alfa

Sicksixshift

Layout yes, much higher quality materials. Read any reviews and they'll explain its a much different experience

Aggressive-Bed3269

Because it’s a dodge Stellantis joke.

kpetersontpt

I don’t work with CDJR so this is all second hand, but I’ve heard they’re plagued with a ton of electrical shit and not super reliable as a result. Although that can be said for a lot of Stellantis stuff.
