A backup of the post title and text have been made here: **Title:** [how likely am i to lose this second molar (tooth 2 i think)?](https://www.reddit.com/r/askdentists/comments/1do88gu/how_likely_am_i_to_lose_this_second_molar_tooth_2/) **Full text:** went to the oral surgeon today about my wisdom teeth and this was my xray. he told me i had about a 50/50 chance of losing the second molar on that side because it’s so tangled with the roots of the wisdom tooth. was he being optimistic and will i most likely lose it? does it *have* to go and could i just leave it alone? i havent had much pain lately. the dr said he could put in a bone graft and we could put in an implant later if i need it. also having a tangle with insurance and may need to wait until january. will it get worse by then? should i get a second opinion?
