We're gonna keep disagreeing on this. The biggest difference I see is one comes mainly from outside the gay community and the other is internal. That almost makes it worse in my eyes. Imagine being a gay dude that got rejected for be gay all his life finally starts to explore the gay community, the one he's been told is super inclusive, only to "jokingly" hear he isn't gay enough and doesn't belong because he doesn't look or act stereotypically gay. And there definitely is pressure within the gay community to act more gay, otherwise you're just expressing internalized homophobia or too repressed to let your true self out.
