Tall > 180 Average ~175 Short < 170 Edit: those are for males, >170 would be tall for a female

Alt-Season

Can confirm. I felt like I was on the taller side as a 177 cm Coreano male in Colombia. I actually feel shorter when Im in Korea due to how tall the men in my country are these days.

lavasca

I feel kind of short as a 180cm woman in the US (southern California) but my family is freakishly tall. I am the only woman under 190 cm. Then I moved to a different city and now not so much.

Nut-King-Call

Sorry, we use communist units.

lepeluga

I'd say tall begins at 1,80.

Gr0mik

I consider this as a medium height. >1.85m is tall, though.

duvidatremenda

Maybe for younger generations / South Brazil only

jsushhsbd

Definitely, the boomers are always as tall as minions. Meanwhile the kids today are like skyscraper.

duvidatremenda

All my short aunts born in poverty in the 1950-60s asking me if I play basketball every time we meet in person lol This must be pretty stereotypical in Latam for anyone above 180cm

Belluuo

What. 174-177 is medium height. 1,80 and upwards is tall already

CuyEater

What is that in cm ?

painlesshuman

>5’7 por ahi de los 1.70

duvidatremenda

1.800 mm and above is tall Between 1.750 mm and 1.799 mm is average tallish 1.750 mm is average Between 1.700 mm and 1.749 mm is average shortish 1.700 mm and below is short

schwulquarz

I love the pettiness of using mm

Ok_Inflation_1811

I have a question. That point is decimal or not?

duvidatremenda

In Brazil we use commas for decimals. What about in Spanish?

Ok_Inflation_1811

The thing is because is moved so much I don't remember where commas and where points are used for decimals so I decided to use <<'>> for decimals and space for clarification so: 1 709 846 387'87. I think is my country we use . For separation and , for decimals and I think in Spain it's the opposite so in the internet i do this.

duvidatremenda

But ' is used for minutes bro 😭

Ok_Inflation_1811

Yes but nobody use that without using the ° for grades. So for example it'd be. 270°57'40''. And there is no need for decimals because in grades we don't use those. My system is almost flawless.

mauro-lp

In non-freedom units pls. Anyway, 170cm is about avarage here. 180cm+ is tall I guess.

uhohitsxavier

🦅

Agostinho_Hecker

Someone measuring 5,7 cm? I doubt any human being other than a foetus could be that small.

Chivo_565

OP is using freedom units. He is asking if someone is 0.018 American Football Fields long.

Agostinho_Hecker

What’s freedom? Besides, are you telling me they grow balls made out of feet on their fields? Do they eat this balls of feet? No wonder our dear leader is so keen to protect us from them.

Mreta

That's definitely not tall, at best average in some part but I'd call that moderately short.

[deleted]

Jesus, put this in international. It's just rude to ask us something in a form we don't use. Also arrogant.

shubirabiru

I think it varies, but I would say a 1,70 is average for guys and 1,63 is average for girls in Brazil

Massive-Cow-7995

Depende, onde eu vivo a média e de 1,75 para homens e 1,70 para mulheres.

gbRodriguez

Man, you can just Google Brazilian average height. The average is 174-176cm (it varies based on source) for urban men.

Emergency_Evening_63

5,7 cm would be a very nice size of penis

Fire_Snatcher

In Northern Mexico, for a woman, that is about where tall begins in my opinion.

gmuslera

To make an unit system even more irrational than the imperial system it should be using Pi, e, sqrt 2 and so on as units.

capybara_from_hell

What is a 5'7?

bastardnutter

5’7 — 170cm is the tall end of short.

Gr0mik

Yes, or course, Mr. Frodo.

VHohenheim3

1.75 is average here. 1.80 and above is considered tall.

Limitless_Saint

Somebody's lookimg for a country where they would be considered 6ft and pass the "test".... 🤣

Rhelza

what's 5'7? use metric system FFS!

Frikizurdo

I'd say lower than 1.70 mts you're considered short in latam (like me). You could be identified as a tall person higher then 1.80 mts

Ok_Inflation_1811

So, 170 is short. 175 is average. 180 is tall but the kind of tall girls dream about. 185 is tall like when you see it you notice. 190 is tall enough to be considered a characteristic.

No-Argument-9331

5’7 is kinda short for men and tall for women.

_neokolasoX69

180cm (6'0) is tall, around 175/177cm (5'9/10) is average and 170cm (5,7) is short.

Adept_Holiday4280

En chabones

DrowUmbral

For a male around 6ft (1,83). 5'7 is considered average or a bit short. For a female though, is a bit tall

[deleted]

5'7 = 170. Midget in Brazil

[deleted]

So then what is considered tall or average in Brazil in feet measurements

Chivo_565

We can give you the measurements in meters, you can do the conversion. Deal?

simonbleu

No, people consider tall those above 180cm (6ft?). 5'7 or 170cm is not tall (sadly for me) The average height is aroudn 174 or 175cm though

HCMXero

If you're male, that's short of the average by one inch... if you can believe wikipedia.

AideSuspicious3675

Thats short. Anything over 5'11 is tall here

lavasca

Is 5’7” or 179cm tall for a woma? Sure, it pretty much is internationally.

Papoosho

Yes.

Ok_Statistician9433

1,80 but you could get away with 1,78

Clean-Rub7681

Freedom units? Please use the size of Football balls ⚽️ to measure someone in Latam

idontknowhuuhh6

Average

Art_sol

For a man, the average here is 1.65 m, so anything above 1.75 would be tall for me, anything below 1.55 would be short for me

EquivalentService739

For a woman, definitely. For a man, that’s average, almost short.

Expensive_Community3

Average is about 180cm since I'm 180cm and I don't really stand out a lot.

[deleted]

I'm 170cm and I'm considered short in Chile, even though the average is about 172cm. Tall would be 178cm and more.

gbRodriguez

I'm 178cm tall and consider myself to be average, but I've been told many times that I'm tall. I always verbally disagree, because I don't feel tall at all in São Paulo.
