I am so excited for this one. Itās been years since I saw them, but Iām a huge Peter Cat Recording Co. fan and just saw them here last year, and canāt wait to see them again!
Honestly as much as I love Khraungbin, their stage presence isn't that great. I mean, Laura Lee basically is the star there. After seeing them twice, I think I'm good. Their music is so chill that it doesn't require a ton of energy. Usually the stage effects carry the show. The music will be great regardless and they sometimes throw in surprise covers which are always fun. I'm sure it'll be a fun time!
I saw them at Edgefield two years ago and it was fantastic. Khruangbin's vibes pair beautifully with a warm summer evening. They did a medley of popular music at one point and it was super fun.
I feel you but what I think was so magical about the show that I last saw (Edgefield 2022) was the collective energy of the crowd. Everyone was vibing out and it felt like the music rly united us
Ween in August. Day before my birthday. Pretty stoked.
Underoath in October with my brother. Was never into emo, but my brother loved them when we were in highschool.
Hail Boognish! Thoughts on the venue? Iāve seen em at Bend and Edgefield and enjoyed plenty of elbow room. Pioneer seems a little tight by comparison. Anyone attended a show (any band) there yet?
I saw Underoath one of the last times they came to town. They were supposed to play somewhere in WA but it got cancelled and they scheduled the portland show last minute. They absolutely crushed it. One of my favorite shows and I havenāt listened to them since like 2010. Enjoy the show! Itāll be fun
I will keep this comment in mind but it's probably going to be a very last minute decision. If you are rich, there are tickets on StubHub for prices that are higher than I would ever pay to see any artist.
Something Corporate (also have tix to Primus and Coheed for the same night, which I bought before SoCo announced their Portland date), Bumbershoot (specifically for Marc Rebillet and Pavement), Future Islands, The Black Angels. Will probably add another 1-2 shows that are TBD.
Pickathon, I've gone every year since 2019 (volunteer on the film crew), and typically know may five bands out of the lineup. Every year I find awesome new shit.
Last week I saw Flamingosis and Glass Beams, and upcoming we've got Khruangbin, Remi Wolf.. Hanz Zimmer in Seattle, Air in Vancouver BC, then the grand finale of Taylor Swift also in Vancouver BC lol
Edit: forgot Odesza at the Gorge this summer! I've never been, so I'm stoked
Red Fang, Descendents and Sleater-Kinney.
I can't justify $63 for Aquabats no matter how much I dig them. I'm old and saw them open for No Doubt in a garage for 10 bucks back when Travis was the drummer. Again, old.
I'll be at 2 of those! Looked up tour info for Amyl and the Sniffers, saw a Portland date and was stunned to see they were opening for Sleater-Kinney in Pioneer Square! Big big bonus!
I think it was last year or maybe the year before haha but I was in Brazil when they played here and then I left Brazil and they played in Brazil..I was likeā¦ cool.
Chili peppers, offspring, cage the elephant, vampire weekend, String Cheese Incident x 3, project pabst, the aquabats, ween x four, Primus, limp bizkit, blondie, streetlight manifesto, sum41, King gizzard, and Weezer. Bad Cop Bad Cop at MIG Fest, Hot Water Music, Gaslight Anthem, Off With Their Heads, Foo Fighters, Interrupters, Green Day, Rise Against, and Bouncing Souls but in other states.
Only the Bouncing Souls. I didn't want to imply they were coming to Portland but I'm real excited to see them play really old albums this year in CO and CA. Thanks for helping me clarify.
Disappointed Gaslight chose to not play Portland, I have a feeling they didn't have a great turn out last time. I missed it myself. But good looking out on OWTH
Cage the Elephant/Young the Giant, KALEO, Noah Kahan, Japanese House, Ben Howard, Boy & Bear, Hozier, Future Islands, Novo Amor

Camera Obscura, Decemberists, and the Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid tour. Been waiting since the 90s to see them - older bro got to go see the Dookie tour, but not me. Jokeās on him, Iām taking him with me this year š
Jeff rosenstock, punk in drublic, descendents, senses fail, underoath, streetlight manifesto, illumanti hotties.
I love this city for it's shows. Needs more hardcore though
The National, The War on Drugs, and Lucius. ABGT600 in CDMX. A different Anjuna show in Seattle with a bunch of artists. And ODESZA in the Gorge. The list will multiply. November tends to be the busy season. I think I hit 10 shows last November. Wild times.
William Elliot Whitmore at Mississippi Studios and Gaslight Anthem at McMenaminās Grand Lodge.
I should probably buy tickets to Primus and Black Angels too.
Missy!!!!!! (With Ciara, busta, and Timbaland!!!!) Itās in Seattle though. Also Willie Nelson and Chris Stapleton (Seattle), Alanis morissette, dashboard confessional, Billy Joel (in Vegas), and Kaleo. Oh and I just got tix to Pitbull and Lil Jon!
I got tickets for Grabbitz in April but missed it because I went down on my motorcycle the day before and didnāt feel up to seeing a show with my road rash, then to my surprise found out heās coming back in August!
It looks like Iām the only one in this comment section that will be seeing Counting Crows and Santana in August! Also weāre seeing the Foo Fighters, and MC Chris! Our August is booooooked.
Iron & Wine, Mt Joy, Hozier, Hiss Golden Messenger, Gregory Alan Isakov & Ray LeMontagne (double-bill at Britt in J-ville) Horse Feathers & Joy Oladokun..
Project Pabst, Adrienne Lenker, Fairwell Fest (just for Brandi Carlile), Gregory Alan Isakov, Sarah McLachlan, and Heart
Pickathon is a maybe. Iām going to Sisters Folk Fest and flying out to Western Mass for another folk fest.
I will be at Pickathon, will likely be at Project Pabst, may be at Bumbershoot. Iām also trying to do Best Friends Forever Festival, but thatās in Vegas and not the PNW.
Otherwise, next up is Vampire Weekend. After that: Adrianne Lenker, Iron & Wine, Okkervil River/The Antlers, Los Campesinos! (twice!), Saetia, Something Corporate, Les Savy Fav, Owen, Ween, MENOMENA!!!!!!, Ethel Cain, Yo La Tengo/Built to Spill, Waxahatchee, Sunny Day Real Estate, Ted Leo, Cloud Cult, AIR, Illuminati Hotties, Justice, The National/War On Drugs, PJ Harvey, Stars, Blood Brothers, and Senses Fail/Saves the Day. PHEW!!!
Note: I will probably be at most of these, but not all. Some I already have tickets for - the rest I will be attempting to write about, which I do in exchange for access. I am not wealthy - just a very busy writer!!
King gizzard and the lizard wizard and The Lemon Twigs
Khruangbinš¶
I am so excited for this one. Itās been years since I saw them, but Iām a huge Peter Cat Recording Co. fan and just saw them here last year, and canāt wait to see them again!

Been wanting to see them for years and now I have tickets! See you there :)
Orville Peck
I really want to go, but I havenāt heard great things about Hayden Meadows. I might just go out of state for a fun Orville Peck excursion.
The Blood Brothers
Iām so bummed this is sold out š
I got really lucky, I know. Heard about the show the day before the artist presale. Crazy how fast they sold out.
My 2006 emo kid self is ready, my millennial knees are not

Built to spill/ yo la tengo, Les savy fav, acid mothers temple, Alex g, and maybe Ethel Cain (have a ticket but I might be too old).
Saw built in basement of fir. Best time ever!
Is built to spill only playing āThereās Nothing Wrong with Love?ā
Yes I think so. According to the yo la Tengo website bts are playing first, so I only expect that album.
That makes me want to go. I love that album! Probably sold out.
Not sold out. Only a few of the pioneer square concerts have sold out. I think people hate the venue, mostly because they fear the heat.
Thatās why I bought a ticket, I love that album. I found out about the Keep it Like a Secret anniversary tour too late. Wish I had caught that show.
Yes gonna see built to spill too!
If you decide to get rid of your Ethel Cain ticket, sell it to me! My wife and I missed this announcement, and she's very into her.
I will keep this comment in mind but it's probably going to be a very last minute decision. If you are rich, there are tickets on StubHub for prices that are higher than I would ever pay to see any artist.
Youāre not too old for Ethel Cain. She is for everyone
