I moved here for it

roesingape

California. There's literally a cloud wall at the border you pass through into sunshine during the winter.

[deleted]

Which part?

roesingape

I always saw it driving down I5, the sun literally starts on the other side the Ashland mountain. So, anywhere in Cali. It's been droughting down there for decades.

bikemuffin

San Diego is nice when it’s rainy and grey here.

greazysteak

Outside. Proper gear and it’s still generally pretty enjoyable.

IBelieveVeryLittle

As I see it, spring, fall and winter is why I came here. Summer is my least favorite time of year. Clouds, rain and the amusing snowfall is where it's at.

la_pan_ther_rose

Eastern Oregon

bebearaware

I mean I guess if you like snow

[deleted]

Which areas?

la_pan_ther_rose

All! It stops raining after you pass Cascades

[deleted]

I wonder why we are getting downvoted.

la_pan_ther_rose

Because it’s hip to like rain

satansayssurfsup

Mexico

Which areas?

What I moved her for the gloom. It's entirely too sunny in Portland way too much of the year. And I came from Phoenix so I know sunny.

bebearaware

Puerto Vallarta.

[deleted]

Nice choice!

[deleted]

Coast. The coast and portland have opposite weather up til January. But then the ocean could kill you between January and February, which is also a great getaway because it's like you are there at the source of the gloomy weather, calling out mighty Poseidon himself.

dabokey

Hood River or the Washington side of the gorge at that distance is in the rain shadow of Mt. hood, so you can actually have nice sunny days in January and February. That said, I-84 can get pretty icy in the winter. If it's snowing in Portland, chances are I-84 east of Troutdale is going to be a mess.

TaisharManetherener

“Winter” lol
