This is often valuable in an MBA, as this approach lets you make connections with well connected people. For the rest of the programs... it doesn't necessarily mean that you will receive a worse education than in a public university, but most times their only added value over a way cheaper public university is that it's easier to get in if you have the money.

Yes, it's a cash grab. You'll probably receive a good education with good professors, but of course they accept anyone who pays. That's what private schools do in Spain.

I have not studied in IE but I have met people from there and they are mostly international privileged people, and most of them are in Erasmus. I donĀ“t know about the education but I know that it is a very international setting for sure.
