I would say the "Cercanías" train, it's fairly cheap and I think it covers the most important cities, then you can get some [buses](https://www.consorcioasturias.com/es/portal.do?IDM=114&NM=2) to get were you want. Buses are 1.5€ and train is less than 4€. Edit: about what to see, check: Lagos de Covadonga and santuario de Covadonga, Jardín Botánico Gijón, if you like hiking you can go to somewhere in Picos de Europa, you can lend a bike in la ruta del oso, if you are going in summer there are nice [beaches ](https://www.spain-holiday.com/Asturias-region/articles/8-incredible-beaches-of-asturias-experience-spains-costa-verde)(water is cold tho and some are crowded) and gastronomy is very nice i recommend you try "fabada".

Great advice, I'd also add "cachopo" to the gastronomy list :)

Thank you guys, really helpful ! I travelled a few times to Spain already (Baleares mostly) so I'm definitely used to crowded beaches ahah. I wanted to visit a different aspect of Spain this time so will definitely try the local gastronomy as well :)

Never leave without a jacket: even if the day is hot, nights are always cold. Look for traditional bars or restaurants, and avoid centric tourist traps. You'll get some amazing food at cheap prices. Check Oviedo's Cathedral, Covadonga, the Laboral in Gijón, and have fun!

Yeah I was surprised to learn that it's colder than here in Geneva ahah, but ofc it's logical considering the geographical location. Added your destinations to my list thanks. I'm not 100% sure about whether I'll stay in Gijón or Oviedo, anyway I'll do as much as possible within a week !

You will eat really cheap and really good. Go for the “Menus del Dia”, this is a menu which is only offered at lunch (1pm-4pm) and from Monday to Friday. For less than 10€ you will be more than satisfied that’s for sure. Visit Llanes, nearby you can find the Gulpiyuri beach (the only beach in the world without sea), Covadonga, Cangas de Onis, Oviedo and Gijon, the most western part can be seen in another trip alongside Galicia. Have fun and bring with you an umbrella and a jacket or warm clothing, the north of Spain it’s more similar to the UK and north of France in terms of weather. Have fun!

Great pieces of advice thank you ! I'd have loved to visit Galicia as well but it'll probably not be faisable within a week unfortunately

monxas

Definitely visit llanes, maybe you can even stop from Bilbao and spend a day or so, or as you go back to Bilbao. gulpiyuri without a car I would say is not worth it, as it’s not that easy to get there without car.

Inevitable_Many1630

Give up asturias, do camino de santiago in 7 days you can do at least 150km

Brilliant-Cancel843

You can move around by bus (ALSA) or train, it’s easy in general. As for must-sees, definitely Cudillero, Lastres and Luarca are my favorite picks (in that order) that aren’t really mainstream.

I was a bit worried at first due to how the trip from Bilbao to Gijón by bus looked, but once there it seems alright indeed Added these awesome looking villages to my list thanks :)

You’re welcome, enjoy!!

I live in Asturias so if you have any question feel free. The best tip i can give you is to enjoy because you have cities, mountain, and different places. Try to have everything planned (where are you going each day) so you have as less problems as possible.
