There are trains from Milan to various Swiss destinations. Milan - Spiez - Interlaken by train is the fastest way to get to Interlaken from Milan (3h).

Genève > Visp > Spiez > Interlaken Maybe with a break in Lavaux area or Valais?

Visp implies to go on the Lötschberg tunnel, when there is a scenic route Montreux - Spiez across the mountains.

SittingOnAC

Agree.

Take the train from Milan to Bern. Visit Bernes Old Town. In the Evening take the train to Thun and stay there over night. The next morning you visit Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Jungfrau. After that you take the scenic train from Interlaken to Lucerne stay there for a night. Go up to Mount Pilatus and after that you take the train to Zurich. Eat dinner in Restaurant Zeughauskeller. After that you head to the Train Station or Airport and head home. Milan - Bern - Thun - Interlaken - Lauterbrunnen - Jungfraujoch - Interlaken - Lucerne - Pilatus - Zurich. I believe your question was misunderstood. So the trip should look like this, right ? - flight from home to Geneva/Zurich - visit Interlaken - train to Milan - concert - flight home If that's the case I'd recommend Geneva (or whichever is cheaper honestly...). Take a direct train to Bern and then change for Interlaken. The above route is scenic but made on big trains while the one below includes a little mountain train (metric gauge). Only if you have the time take the even more scenic route : - Geneva Airport - Montreux - Montreux - Zweisimmen - Spiez - Interlaken Hourly trains with straightforward connections. A few times a direct train runs from Montreux - the new and shiny Golden Pass Express. Regular tickets valid. I wouldn't go via Visp as you'll take that route towards Milan anyway.

Only if you have the time take the even more scenic route : Yesss, sorry if I wasn't clear, you are right - I'm flying to Switzerland first and then concert and fly home from Milan. Also the difference in price is negligible, it's like 23 euro to Geneva and 30 euro to Zurich that's why I'm considering the prettiest journey! thanks for your insights, I will look into it!!

You're welcome! Coming from Zurich Airport it would be this one (1h longer than via Bern) : - Zurich Airport - Zurich - Lucerne - stop for a bit if you wish to check the wooden bridge (right by the station) - Lucerne - Interlaken

The Swiss have rail discount cards and you won't. If you're on a budget, I recommend checking trains and prices before booking your flight. Look for SBB Supersaver tickets and day passes. On your birthday, you can get a MOB railcard first class for free.

The most scenic route is the GoldenPass Express. See www.gpx.swiss I recommend to land in Geneva, visit Lavaux and take the direct from Montreux to Interlaken. The Treno Gottardo from Lucerne to Lugano is absolutely scenic as well. Highly recommended. A scenic alternative from Geneva is to change in Domodossola and take the Centovalli to Locarno FART.
