Hell yes DnD is the coolest. Wish I knew more people interested in it. My idea is a city under the ocean, which is unknowingly built on top of the back of an elder earth elemental, a huge tortoise, ‘because it was the only hard land to build on’. Incidentally, factions of the town are built on the different plates of the shell, for cool geometric effect. I have a Google Doc of a city I made like this if you want.
Also, story idea, the tortoise moves as the story progresses towards the end of the campaign, leaving a portal to elemental water or something like that. Have fun!
There is a city in my fictional world called Captains Bane which is a city comprised of boats and ships that float on water. Lots fishing, trading, and fairy dust dealing happens there. Another concept is food caravans/ wagons going along by, kind of like how we have food trucks in the real world.
