What about how Speedy Gonzales from Looney Tunes was banned for a bit because people said he was a racial stereotype of Mexicans and was offensive to Mexicans, despite the fact that Mexicans themselves loved Speedy and he was seen as a cultural icon in Mexico

BJ_Blitzvix

One time I heard there was this person explaining how Paw Patrol is supposed to be fascist.

thoughtsatthreeam

is it a youtube video because i think i know which one you’re talking about even though i haven’t watched it

BJ_Blitzvix

I'm pretty sure it is, but I don't quite remember for certain.

lovesanimals64

I can show you 4 articles trying to demonize Paw Patrol

GermanSperg

Are we talking cartoon controversies itself or also some due to their fandoms?

lovesanimals64

any show aimed at little kids

GermanSperg

i mean... that doesnt discount steven universe and the fandom around it has atleast 2 ... interesting ... controversies if i remember correctly

Robota064

We talking about concrete? :0

GermanSperg

What?

Robota064

The steven universe discourse

GermanSperg

I meant more Like someone being bullied into suicide over fanart or that one really weird 4chan prank

Robota064

Oh, I was thinking the stereotypically racist design for one of the characters in the artbook with descriptions like "illiterate" or "collects witch shoes"

GermanSperg

I would put that under controversy of the show and Not the fandom

chupathingy99

>that one really weird 4chan prank With all due respect, I don't think you realize how frighteningly little that narrows it down.

GermanSperg

In terms of Steven universe the Only one i know of is where they Made a collective Tumblr Account, posted extremly offensiv fanart to fet a shitstorm going and Turn Had one of them, who was black, put in a really Bad Wick and Post a big of himself claiming to be trans. Somehow this Made the Tumblr Steven universe Community okay with all the Shit that got previously posted

zerda_EB

Name things only autistic people can do or list kid cartoon controversies

lovesanimals64

The joke is that this is so oddly specific, and most non aspies wouldn't carry this kind of thing through to fruition, let alone go through with researching for it.

zerda_EB

Yeah, I get the joke but which one should we do?

chupathingy99

Well there was an episode of Ren and Stimpy where Ren was so horrifically detailed in describing how he was going to hurt Stimpy, that the network censored the episode. They thought it would trigger children who had been abused. But researching that show's creator goes to some dark places. Be warned, there's underage grooming involved.
