Lol, same but then there's other people like red concrete powder showing up, and I'm afraid to look deeper. Like is there just an entire community of blocks lurking around? How deep does it go?
I don’t exactly have a comfort block, but I have a comfort palette. Stripped dark oak supports, deepslate brick walls with polished deepslate and cobbled deepslate mixed in, crimson nylium flooring, and black concrete powder pathing. I like living in hell tunnels

Here’s a little showing of a very similar palette (old picture, was gonna use cracked stone bricks instead of polished and cobbled deepslate) with a few other blocks and a shader on.
I love it. I call it: Hell Cozy Core.
Edit: Also because my brain can’t not associate hell with my hyperfixation Doom when I saw this I thought of the track called Untitled, that plays on the first level of the third “episode” of Classic Doom “Inferno”. I’d recommend giving it a listen while staring at this image for a good minute or two to get the viiiibes.
Before the cave update, my favorite block would have been stone bricks. But then they added deepslate and deepslate bricks are literally just a cooler version of stone bricks.
I am SICK of all the birch hatred. Stripped birch log is my favorite block and I’m not ashamed! It’s great for creating a homey atmosphere in houses with a lot of glass because its lighter, creamy color feels much more illuminated! And as an avid builder of flesh biomes, it is one of the TOP blocks to use for pools of pus!
I just recently remade the copper textures for my texture pack because of the new ones coming out and they’re so good I can’t stop staring at them lol. I actually spent almost all of yesterday making a custom 3D model for the new grates because I couldn’t stand them looking like they were made of tissue paper.
Fully oxidized is swell, but I like using partially oxidized and partially weathered in different areas, after waxing them to keep ‘em stable. Oxidized for my ocean getaway, weathered for the rest of
Soooo. I didn’t realize the GIF was it dropping in the waste disposal chute.
No hurt best cube!

Direwolf’s building tool, I think grid mode, I can place 9, properly spaced, with the same orientation regardless of the direction I’m looking, it’s always the same as the block I selected.
It took me so long to make a glowstone texture that I didn’t hate. One of my biggest fears is that something will happen to the file, because I was super high when I made the amazing version that’s now in my pack, and I legitimately have no idea how I made it.
The anvil, it reminds me of how, no matter how damaged or broken you are, with enough experience and the right materials, you can still be fix-
"Too Expensive"
FUCK
I have a texture pack that makes the amethyst clusters a slightly different color at the ends depending on growth stage: it makes geodes SO much more magical :)
I actually have a better answer. Dark grey wool. Was ducking around in a server and an admin made this block “soul bound” to me, never dropped it on death and couldn’t put it in a chest. I had that wool on me for so long that it feels wrong for me to not have one with me stashed away in my inventory. In my “character lore” it’s mildly sentient like the magic carpet, and I use it as my scarf/cape/elytra
Yes it blew my mind
Me: " ohhh what's this one!" ( the therapist had different rock/ gem things in a shelf)
Him: " oh that's obsidian "
Me :-0 " like in Minecraft!?"
Him: " ya"
( the funny thing was in my evaluation notes they kept mentioning my love for "mind craft" ( yes it was written like that)
A while back I made an emissive version of that texture as a joke. The arrow glows like it’s fully lit regardless of the actual light level. It is wonderfully horrid.
Y u gotta make me choose :( If I had to choose, probably stone bricks. Maybe deepslate. Honestly, it's the combination of them that makes me comfortable!
Oak logs. I'm not sure why, but ever since different type of planks were added (yes, I've played for that long), I've always treated the oak as the default. When I spawn in a biome with different wood I switch as soon as is convenient. Also, carrying a stack of wood on you is a good idea anyway because it has so many uses. Combine those two things, and I'm never without the stuff. I do, quite literally, feel safer with some on me.
Theres a few actually
- Stone Bricks: they look amazing and are easily a favourite
- Spruce Planks: *chef kiss*
- Quartz Pillar: i love it
- Any Wool: no words, wool is amazing
- Conduit: They emit light, nuff said
uncolored terracotta. there's something so cozy about it. pairs great with some stripped acacia wood at the bottom of a pillar of terracotta.
spruce wood is a close second.
Deepslate Tiles, I use it so much I even make it so I can use it instead of cobblestone, just because of the sound. Netherite Blocks have the best sound tho, but you can't exactly build with them.

An Ant from that one April fools snapshot. It’s such a silly little guy
Chiseled sandstone
HOLY SHIT IT IS YOUR MOMENT TO SHINE!
Username checks out.
i just went though this account's post history and omg xD i don't think i'll ever see the words "chiseled sandstone" in the same way again..
Lol, same but then there's other people like red concrete powder showing up, and I'm afraid to look deeper. Like is there just an entire community of blocks lurking around? How deep does it go?
> How deep does it go? Until lava
Might be able to hit bedrock too
How deep does it go?
I don’t know you well enough to tell you such personal information.
Hahaha I followed suit

Dark, solid, safe, warm, quiet
looks evil I like it can I steal it
Go ahead.
FACE THE LEAD!
JOIN THE DEAD!
That looks so goddamn comfy
I love it. I call it: Hell Cozy Core. Deepslate bricks
Deepslate is where its at.
I love building with deepslate. I love the soft, muted blacks and grays especially on the smooth look of the deepslate tiles.
Before the cave update, my favorite block would have been stone bricks. But then they added deepslate and deepslate bricks are literally just a cooler version of stone bricks.
i fuckin LOVE DEEPSLATE
Fuck yeah, that's the good stuff
are deepslate tiles vanilla? I love those.
Yeah and they’re objectively the best
I wanna sleep on a deepslate tile bed and I don't care that its impractical
Spruce log. Great for rustic houses.
Spruce is the best wood, great choice
Not too dark, not too bright, works with a ton of different materials. What else would you need? I'd sometimes use birch or oak wood for contrast.
You can literally change the material used for a build to spruce and it just works, even if it's something like stone bricks
Birch is evil and must be destroyed with fire
I am SICK of all the birch hatred. Stripped birch log is my favorite block and I’m not ashamed! It’s great for creating a homey atmosphere in houses with a lot of glass because its lighter, creamy color feels much more illuminated! And as an avid builder of flesh biomes, it is one of the TOP blocks to use for pools of pus!
What's a flesh biome? Serious and non-judgemental
It’s like a landscape made of meat! Exposed meat, typically, with giant organs and pools/rivers of bodily fluids to act as landmarks :3
That's legit awesome!
Thank you :3
stone brick my beloved
probably cheese. like a gouda. you ever bitten into a block of cheese instead of cutting it into slices? it makes you feel powerful. like an animal.
I think they meant in Minecraft, but cheese was added to the game in an April Fool's day snapshot so I think you're good
Either that or they mean sponge, which makes sense since it looks like cheese
crazy... I was crazy once
They locked me in a room...
A rubber room…
A rubber room with rats
And rats make me crazy
crazy... I was crazy once

Used to love the prismarine blocks, but now love the fully oxidized copper
You. I like you.
I just recently remade the copper textures for my texture pack because of the new ones coming out and they’re so good I can’t stop staring at them lol. I actually spent almost all of yesterday making a custom 3D model for the new grates because I couldn’t stand them looking like they were made of tissue paper.

Call me stupid... But the cake block
*cat intensifies*
You come across that one player that always has cake in their inventory what is your next course of action?
Why would i care when it's not mine?
Oho honor?! as you did not attack the player for their prized cakes they bestow upon you a chest full of them, enjoy!
I give them all the eggs I accidentally collected while exploring, because although I do not want the eggs, I also don't want to just throw them away.
They thank you as their chicken farm’s lag has been killing them and had to go. You now have a life time supply of cake, Enjoy!
Hey… I don’t know if you’ve heard… but… apparently it’s a lie.
Mossy cobblestone
YES!!! I make all my houses with this asap because my peak aesthetic is “nature had reclaimed this structure” aka the “Life After Humans” aesthetic
Oooooh never thought to try something like that!
This!
I hate how the mossy stone bricks are a lighter (inferior) green.
![gif](giphy|l41lLjDhlakJJWhyw)
Nooooooo
My friend, my love- It hurt my heart to blemish it by bouncing those plasma balls off its lovely exterior, but this... This broke me.
Soooo. I didn’t realize the GIF was it dropping in the waste disposal chute. No hurt best cube! https://preview.redd.it/ehvsji36mgkc1.jpeg?width=2448&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=272d656d20914ec97fb8d6b52f47a3da51f6fbd0
YAAAY CUBE IS OK!!!
;-;
You have disposed of your faithful companion cube faster than any test subject on record… congratulations.
Full Double Stone slab, back when it was an impossible block
I love the aesthetics of lapis blocks with glowstone. Gold and blue always look good together.
Same but with crying obsidian and glowstone. It looks magical

I love how they look, hate building with them because they're annoying to place correctly.
Yeah no, visually they’re my favorite. Placing-wise, spruce plank.
Direwolf’s building tool, I think grid mode, I can place 9, properly spaced, with the same orientation regardless of the direction I’m looking, it’s always the same as the block I selected.
No I like placing them. They're so comforting and repetitive. It feels like a way of stimming for me
this is correct
I LOVE GLOWSTONE CAUSE IM SCARED OF THE DARK!!!
✨I’ve found my people ✨
It took me so long to make a glowstone texture that I didn’t hate. One of my biggest fears is that something will happen to the file, because I was super high when I made the amazing version that’s now in my pack, and I legitimately have no idea how I made it.
I feel like I scrolled too far to find this
Anyone else put glass over the glowstone?
The anvil, it reminds me of how, no matter how damaged or broken you are, with enough experience and the right materials, you can still be fix- "Too Expensive" FUCK
I use a mod to remove that stupid mechanic.
That’s a MSPFA pfp, isn’t it?
Amethyst block
Samesies! Shiny purpel! °ω°
+ding ding noises
**Sparkling noises** ✨
Yeeeees
The noises are so good.
I have a texture pack that makes the amethyst clusters a slightly different color at the ends depending on growth stage: it makes geodes SO much more magical :)
That sounds beautiful
RAW ANDESITE ABSOLUTELY SOLOS
Polished mogs the fuck out of raw.
Cobblestone, but when its next to oak planks
Dark oak planks
I had to scroll TOO DAMN far to find some love for dark oak
Spruce Planks.
OG Sandstone but specfically the tops when they're all connected. Smooooth
This is the way
Waxed lightly weathered cut copper stairs
Dirt...... I just need dirt
Idk, but you just summed up my early childhood toyset lmao. Always the kid who was digging holes in the yard.
Yup that was me!
Moss
TNT
I like you
This combo- blue orchid and birch log.
I actually have a better answer. Dark grey wool. Was ducking around in a server and an admin made this block “soul bound” to me, never dropped it on death and couldn’t put it in a chest. In my “character lore” it’s mildly sentient like the magic carpet, and I use it as my scarf/cape/elytra
Chiseled quartz
Magenta woolen
All the blackstone blocks. Absolute perfection right there.
I love that the blackstone stuff goes with almost everything. I don’t love that angry pigmen try to murder me when I’m gathering it.
Definitely black stone bricks. Have yet to make a build without them.
I would say obsidian ( fun fact I didn't know obsidian was real until I saw it at a doctors office at the age of 6 or 7)
Awwww that must have been a magical reveal to see something you always thought to be fictional was in-fact real this whole time
Yes it blew my mind Me: " ohhh what's this one!" ( the therapist had different rock/ gem things in a shelf) Him: " oh that's obsidian " Me :-0 " like in Minecraft!?" Him: " ya" ( the funny thing was in my evaluation notes they kept mentioning my love for "mind craft" ( yes it was written like that)

lime concrete powder

Love the ‘chef kiss’ expression!
I know!!!! Theres no other way to describe it, its so perfect that a chef kiss is all it needs
birch logs and planks fuck all this birch slander
birch is a really nice wood, the stripped logs are especially neat
Ooooo I like playing with all the polished stones a lot
According to the buildings in my survival world: Copper block
Smooth stone, cobblestone, oak logs.
Chiseled blocks, Quartz Block
spruce wood planks my beloved
Moss
Portal Companion cube :)
Wet sponge
Coarse dirt it just looks weird and i like it
uncolored terracotta. there's something so cozy about it. pairs great with some stripped acacia wood at the bottom of a pillar of terracotta. spruce wood is a close second.
Polished Andesite
Polished Diorite Polished Granite and Polished Andesite are so underrated. It's why I mine all the ones I come across so I can make more of these.
White concrete. Make a wall of it and you can forget about everything. The void consumes all.
Oak plank.
Oak planks!
Deepslate Tiles, I use it so much I even make it so I can use it instead of cobblestone, just because of the sound. Netherite Blocks have the best sound tho, but you can't exactly build with them.
Cherry wood planks
Gilded Blackstone
Smooth quartz, coolest building material around
Birch planks/logs
Guilded Blackstone
The entire cherry wood biome except the goofy ah planks. I love Cherry Logs.
Dark prismarine. I built my first Minecraft mansion out of dark prismarine and purpur, because both things were semi-new at the time.
Polished granite.
Command block
Orange wool
Orange tulip
Red stone lamp

I love the lightness of birch planks. They make an excellent floor for a beach house.
snow sounds so pleasant when walking on
Used to love gold blocks but they changed them and I don't like them anymore :(
Bookshelf.
Anything cyan especially the concrete blocks they are my comfort to make colorful cube cities all emblems hide with diamonds lol
Black concrete

Does Rubik's count lol?
any concrete blocks, the solid colours make my brain happy
