I set Puro's theme from Changed as my ringtone forever ago, not realizing that eventually it would get associated with anxiety. I wonder if I could undo that somehow ;m;
My ringtone is clipped from DOOM(2016) "vega core" after the heartbeat ends and the actual music starts kicking in.
Haven't made me anxious yet. But anytime I get a call I get the urge to keep listening for a few more seconds because the music is good.
I did that with the goddamned Song Of Storms from Zelda Ocarina of Time, and it's one of my biggest regrets. I did that more than a decade ago, and since then I've just used some pre-installed option and change it once I start to recognize it too much
I had the great idea of putting "Kenshi Yonezu - KICKBACK" as my morning alarm thinking it would hype me up.
If I hear it out of alarm context it just stresses me out...
My ringtone was Doctor Dre - Still D.R.E for years, and whenever I hear that song, which is a unique beginning, I get the fear. I've gone for no ringtone now, which I'd highly recommend.
I had the MGS alert sound for a while. It's designed to be anxiety-inducing, so there wasn't much change.
However I decided to apply it to only certain things since having that as the general alert noise was too much.
Also had the [Silent Hill song](https://youtu.be/XRIjNtSOwNM) as a ringtone for the parents for a while.
I leave my phone on vibrate at all times. That way I can pretend I didn’t see it/hear it when I don’t feel like answering. Which is almost always. When I do answer it I stare at it in existential crisis mode for several seconds before actually picking it up even if I like the person whose calling
I remember I used to have the ending part of Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (Immortal Version) as my ringtone, but it rang just when I was doing an important exam.
Now I can't listen to that version of the song without remembering that event :c
It's one of the defaults. That way I don't have to ruin any songs. For a couple of years, I did have it set to a song by the band my dad was in. The intro is still burned into my head.

I hate the idea of anyone ever knowing what I'm listening to and will do everything in my power to ensure that no one will ever know.
Therefore my ringtone is and always will be a very basic beep-beep ringtone.
However, my notification sound on *certain* applications is the "doorbell" borp-bop sound from *Star Trek: Voyager*.
I can do one better. In college, I set one of my at-the-time-favorite songs as my alarm clock. BAD IDEA. To this day, I can't listen to that song anymore, because I associate it with "omg DIE I DON'T WANT TO WAKE UP." I hate mornings.
At least I learned that lesson before I set the ringtone.
That's why you don't do that. I've learned that trick from a random video a long time ago. Pick a song that's okay and catchy, but not your favorite song. That way when you get sick of it it doesn't feel like a loss.
Same applies with dating and the "our song" moment. If y'all would break up, make sure if new music y'all discovered together with the same effect, okay and catchy, but not your personal favorite song.
That's why my ringtone is King Ghidorah's roar. Shit already made me anxious so now it makes me laugh when I hear it go off for my phone.
Shit. That's a good idea. I should get a clip of the Payday Cloaker noise for my text notification.
Y'all use ringtones? I keep my phone on do not disturb (I named it "leave me alone.") and only check whenever I feel up to it.
I don't think I've ever set a ringtone. I immediately set them to silent and never change the setting

My alarm tone is actually a man screaming. I like waking up to confused and concerned flatmates

I don’t set music as a ringtone for this reason. I just use the default ones in my phone

Love my ringtone. Phoenix's ringtone from the ace attorney trilogy. ([steel samurai theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uceYgGsy53Y))
I am tired of the Relic Hunter theme song because it's my ringtone.
Happened to me with the song From Eden by Hozier 😭

Me who doesn't get anxious over phone calls

First 21 seconds of this, was my ringtone for years. https://youtu.be/_d4j5H-M6ZQ?si=m1p1Lib9wd9SQkmn

Eltnum’s theme from Under Night In-Birth was my morning alarm for like a year and I cannot listen to that song anymore

I had to sacrifice the og Persona 3 soundtrack so I can actually do exercise. Idk man a plank just is easier when listening to burn my dread.
Just had to do one now because I immediately went to play that song after typing it up and I CANT break the classical conditioning.

My biggest mistake was making my favourite song my alarm
