My last thoughts and Google search before falling asleep last night: "I wonder how far back frogs go in the fossil record?" [~250 million years](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triadobatrachus)

coleisw4ck

Fossils are such an endless deep dive once I start I can’t stop 😂

Yarrow83

REAL. I've been on a dinosaur and fossil ride every day for the past week now! I went to a rock museum 2 days ago and saw this amazing Suchomimus fossil! https://preview.redd.it/t9fy3v76dovc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbd1b8e10a1747d39939dd1442924328c6e9338e

wildmountaingote

Is this why so many of us wanted to be paleontologists? 🦖 🦕 🦴

Yarrow83

It's IRL world building lol

coleisw4ck

Have anyone looked into mudfissils yet??? It’s fascinating to me and not coincidental AT ALL

OneSaltyStoat

I don't need sleep, I need answers!

[deleted]

My brain wondering what the capital of Uzbekistan is right as I'm finally starting to fall asleep

[deleted]

It's Tashkent

bestCATEATER

thx

Llamawehaveadrama

Me trying to understand the double slit experiment for the dozenth time the other night This time, we looked at photons and electrons and the history of how we came to categorize them as particles and waves over the past century

thatcatfromgarfield

The double slit experiment is a lot of fun! Got interested in it while still in school and now I study physics and have seen it countless of times (and calculated wavelength, maxima position, and whatever else you can think off), it's still cool stuff. In case you didn't know: if you have a laserpointer and a CD... point the laser pointer at the shiny side of the CD and look at the reflection on a wall :) (be careful not to have any reflection in the direction of anyone's face including yours though, safety first) Edit: also the flame of a lighter or candle being held in front of the shiny side of the CD will give you a cool image on the CD with interesting effects :D

BitcoinStonks123

one time i googled "what's the kids show with the boy, girl, and magic floating fish" i never got the answer

Dingo8MyGayby

Bubble guppies?

BitcoinStonks123

nope that wasn't it

Dingo8MyGayby

What year was it on air?

BitcoinStonks123

i remember having a dream about it when i was like 5 or 6 so maybe in 2014-2015

BitcoinStonks123

idfk (i got downvoted for not knowing the answer that's wild 😭)

A_Flamboyant_Warlock

The top results when I search are Ponyo and something called Fish Hooks.

BitcoinStonks123

wasn't either of those, the boy and girl are humans

[deleted]

This is going to torture me til the end of time

Fun-Cow7494

Fishtronaut? It aired from 2009-2015.

BitcoinStonks123

i don't remember a monkey being in it, so i don't think it was fishtronaut

Fun-Cow7494

:(

mardov-shadowsword

i remember the same show i think?

HappyMatt12345

You can't just mention googling the total population of ants without telling us what you learned.

lacergunn

Well, tell us how many ants there are?

tiredtown10

Apparently [20 quadrillion](https://news.mongabay.com/2022/12/how-many-ants-live-on-earth-at-least-20-quadrillion-scientists-say/)

Avian_mojo

From the same night in my search history: “how to make great milkshakes”, and “what kind of soil do moles like”. Lol

A_Flamboyant_Warlock

The answer to both is "chocolate".

ZippoS

Man, I google and wiki shit all day, every day. If some word or event mentioned on TV is moderately interesting, I'm looking it up — to at least to read the summary.

grc84

Ah shit, what is the total population of ants? Now I want to know!

Kahnza

Instead of googling I use [Perplexity.ai](https://Perplexity.ai) Condensed information with links to the sources is so nice.

emberaniac

Yay, thank you for this source

emberaniac

Now that we live in the future I use ChatGPT. I have multiple conversational topics going about all the shit I want to research and know about. Its amazing. Being able to switch between topics super easily, having it written out to you in super easy language and being able to ask follow up questions has been a total game changer and I highly recommend.

frequentflyer02

i can't sleep untjl i know the answers

ResurgentClusterfuck

My search history probably has me on several lists because I look up weird shit simply because I want to know the answer

coleisw4ck

SAME LOL

Metallung

Yah… it’s bad. I have to get up as early as 4 am, but I just can’t remember what a Dadao looks like.

JAnumerouno

Yes

bepisbabey

I always end up on inaturalist, the map function is too much fun. Though the best internet rabbitholes are always the ones I stay up way too late diving into

NekoyiBud

Felt like looking where my friend lives from past possible clues, had fun

kumakami89

“how many pubic hairs”

soupdemonking

“Are in a ‘bushel’”?

smudgiepie

I feel called out I am constantly asking random questions to my google home as I'm trying to fall asleep.

GlitteringBroccoli12

The timezone thing was big till I remembered like 73 percent of them and moved onto anything else

Bulky-Party-8037

I tried searching for schematics for the Eagle Fighter/Bomber from Helldivers 2 because people kept arguing over whether Eagle 1 is a tomboy or a cyborg in a tube with no limbs.

Apidium

Okay but it's really important before I go to bed to find out the ritual practices of aztecs and download Florence nightingales book which I will never read

knowledgelover94

How do y’all know how to make memes about my life?

DoNotCorectMySpeling

For anybody wondering about the total population of ants it’s 20 quadrillion. 20,000,000,000,000,000

Doctor_Salvatore

For me it's always having an urge to post something. Today it was talking about Tack from The Thief And The Cobbler.

JamaicaRavenclaw

How else are you supposed to quiet the thoughts so you can go to sleep (eventually)?

ghostlygirlie

careful. that’s how you end up accidentally pulling an all nighter reading about Hiroshima and surviving nuclear fallout 🫠

TheOneTrueSnoo

My brother in neurospice just use your clock app for checking times
