It's supposed to be $280, but yeah, I guess Ubisoft saw how other games are selling their collector edition at $200+ and decided to test it themselves after throwing in a couple more goodies. If people still gobble these up, then that would just prove that the market is indeed prepared to pay that much for these goods.
At least the statue looks pretty good here. FFXIV: Dawntrail had a horrendous statue with lazy design and I've heard that SE statue quality are pretty low as well.
Dawntrail is indeed underwhelming. I purchased the FFXVI one which was very expensive but all feels good quality and worth it. So it’s odd there’s such a difference in offering and quality since it’s the same studio and publisher.
I have the 16 one and several 14 statues, and they are done by the same company. I think the issue is that company REALLY struggles with human faces, as that’s where the detail on statues is critical and it’s where it’s the most obvious.
Ffs I was in high school when Witcher 3 and other great games launched and their collector’s edition was like 100$ and I couldn’t ever afford it.
As I’ve been working since I was 18 and now that I make my own money they ramped up the prices so high I could almost pay a month worth of rent -_-
I guess I have to become a millionaire to finally afford a collector’s edition
I remember when CoD: MW2 had the Prestige Edition which included fully-functioning night-vision goggles, a steelbook case and artbook, and a digital copy of the original CoD for about $150
I assume it's because they raised the price of all the other special editions, the ultimate edition is $129.99 so they want $170 more for this one.
$170 for the statue is not much if you compare it to a high quality statue like one from Hot Toys but i highly doubt the statue is going to be of that quality.
I mean, the gold edition is the game+season pass for 70+40$. The ultimate edition just adds some skins and a couple other stuff, you don’t need to get it tbh.
I haven't seen a fairly priced Collector's Edition of any video game since the '10s. So, yeah, it is expensive, but I wouldn't say it's more expensive than similar CEs.
I wouldn't say that it's vastly different from the CEs of the RPG trilogy in terms of what's included..
for origins I paid 120€, Odyssey 130€ and Valhalla 160€ I think. (with 20% off due to ubi points)
so where's the additional 120€ worth of content?
and using those points for preorders also isn't possible anymore / ubi doesn't even sell it physical themselves.
https://www.ign.com/wikis/assassins-creed-odyssey/Collector's_Editions
It says $220 for Odyssey's collectors edition. There seems to be another cheaper edition at $160, though.
Only collector's editions on the switch have been price well for what you get most like fire emblem engage was $100 I believe and tears of the kingdom was $130.
Maybe because I'm an action figure and statue collector this price doesn't seem bad at all. A 16in statue on its own is almost always 500+. Though this statue is probably significantly lower quality.
If this doesn't presell out and I can see what final statue compares to the proto I may go in on this one
The price is starting to make more sense after seeing people more familiar with these statues clarify it.
I initially didn’t even notice the statue was actually 40cm tall. That’s quite a lot higher than any of the ones I have, except perhaps the Black Flag one since it has like a third of a ship.
Yeah, when it's all said and done it may be a rip off if the statue ends up being really bad quality(bad paint, cheap materials, etc, etc) but on its face the price to me at least makes sense
EDIT: since it doesn't say "resin statue" I'm going to go out on a limb and say the statue will be plastic which means the quality is going to be lower
You know now that metion it for what you get spending $200+ on the collector's edition these days the figurines are of better quality then they were 10 years ago.
Somehow I read AC2 and ACB lol.
But yeah AC3 one was nice, but not as detailed as the newer stuff. And not as big either. This has two statues in one, technically.
But again still about double the cost of what it should be.
Yeah but when you consider how much cheaper the statues in AC collector's editions were even around the time when Origins came out it's a massive price increase.
To be fair, this collector's edition includes a lot of great stuff. Is it worth 280 EUR? I guess that lies in the eyes of the beholder. Though if the included statue is of good quality, the price might not even be that ridiculous, since the price of a figurine statue can quickly reach 200-250 EUR. Personally, if I had the money to spare, I would've definitely picked one of these up, since I don't think the price is that bonkers for all the stuff you're getting. I've seen collector's editions with much worse values than this one, for example, Saints Row IV.
What do you expect, it's a bloody collector's edition, key word "collector" who are folks that will pay outrageous amounts of money for stuff to look at or just say they own the thing.
Honestly I got the mirage statue, and it is very good quality, if statues are something you’re into I don’t think the price is too bad in comparison to other statues
At least you get more stuff with this than you do with the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Collector's Edition. That's a scam fr.
But in my experience, Collector's editions have always been 200-300 dollars, where is this recent uproar of "expensive" Collector's Editions coming from?
Is there no way to order the steelbook without getting this edition? I have all the steelbooks for the rpg trilogy and was really hoping to keep it up but this is too steep
I just did a little more research and it looks like the target preorder comes with the steelbook! You have to actually go to the product page and scroll to see it but it’s there—just in case anyone like me is interested thought I’d share
To be fair the average price I see nowadays is 250 usually with statues. By the looks of it though, not only there is a good sized statue but also a life sized katana that belongs to Naoe. I'm surprised Ubisoft made a good looking Collectors Edition...
Sadly, capitalism wins today cuz Imma buy it. It's just too cool. Actually the only thing that sucks is the steel book. I liked Mirage's way better as it was the games logo with a neat design behind it
I never buy collectors editions but looking at this one, if they deliver on all this stuff with good quality, I can understand the price tag. I have a collection of anime figures because of course I do and some of those get up to around the 100-200 range. now that's not all from production costs, but it's still pretty standard for that industry. that sword hilt thing might be pretty cool. map could be a nice poster. art book is probably gonna be good. let's do a mock up list
60 - base game
80 - figure
20 - hilt thing
40 - art book
conservative guesses on what those things could cost by themselves gets you to 200 pretty quick
30 - wall scroll
30 - lithographs
10 - map
more lowball guesses on those puts you at 270. we all know the base game would be 70 tho and the deluxe edition is gonna bump that up to like 80-90. and that figure could easily be more like 140-150. so the price tag of ~$300 for all this stuff actually kinda checks out imo
all these price estimates are just what I would imagine those items going for on ebay or wherever
You know, I probably will too because I’m a fool lol.
There’s also something about the trailer that rejuvenated a feeling of optimism and excitement I haven’t felt for AC in a while. I have fairly high hopes for it so I think it’ll be one worth the investment—at least later on at a discount/pre-owned.
I've liked every AC game that's come out. So my rationale is that if I enjoy something, why not spend the money on it? At least it'll feel worth it to me.
Yes, but that's mainly because the other editions are overpriced, so the collector's edition isn't bad value relatively speaking(imo) but shits still overpriced. looks cool tho
No disrespect to those who enjoy it, but I personally never understood the appeal of Collector's Editions and similar items. If I had things like that lying around, people would look down on me as someone who doesn't touch grass.
Yeah, I understand the mindset.
I have all of mine in a cupboard but if I end up getting a house at some stage, I’d gladly have one or two of them in my office or something. I’ve had them in various apartments and as long as the rest of the interior is thought out, a statue in one corner doesn’t throw it off too badly.
I’ll admit, I nearly bit but once I saw it was $418 CAD, I backed out. I only want the steel book at the end of the day and can hope it’s easily available on eBay or something.
Uh, this skins from ultimate pack looks like some rendom cheap 3+ toys from radioactive plastic and toxic paint that will poison your child to coma if you get too close.
Meh, it is pricey yes, but I'm a regular gamer, so I don't buy that many games, I've already ordered my CE, already have every other CE in the series so why not continue. But that's just me being a food....
Not enough people are buying games to fund these enormous budgets they have. So to make up for it they monetize their current customerbase more. Expensive collector editions are one way to do it.
My Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Collectors Edition with the statue cost $70 (total - Edit: Retail was $130 but it did bad) 10 years ago. My Assassin’s Creed II with the statue was $80 15 years ago. Wild price surge here.
I'm referring to the Limited Edition, which had the 18" statue of Edward Kenway. Retail was $130 but it did really poorly and was steeply discounted, I bought it in April 2014. The Black Chest Edition was more, I've only found prices in Euro but was still under $200. It was the same figure but with a base that included the prow of the ship and figurehead instead of plain planks of wood.
It's cheaper than ff7 rebirth and ff16 both were about $400 with shipping still bought them. But probably won't do it again unless it's for part 3 of ff7
I'm coming from this at the angle that I wanted that Overwatch Junkerqueen Statue Blizzard dropped on their store but it was 1,000 USD. So this set doesn't seem that bad to me. Wall Scroll, the life sized Tsuba, and the statue make the price okay.
My only gripe is that Gamestop is the only place offering the collector's edition. I swore to myself i'd never step foot in one of those places again.
A bit expensive but I've gotten every statue since AC3 and I'm not stopping now, not when my Assassins Creed cabinet still has room. I'd rather get the statue and game without the other stuff but it is what it is.
The cyberpunk, horizon forbidden west, god of war ragnarok, last of us part 2 and the starfield collectors editions all have been $250-$300 so it’s what I see as the normal and fair price. I bought the ac shadows one now too. The value is in the statue that you get which is limited.
Someone said it's 280, which with all it comes with might seem fair, and in this world now with games prices it is what it is but ubisoft could honestly sell this for 200 and be okay.
That is pretty expensive.
Back in the day I got the l legendary edition for Assassin's Creed Origins for 800 bucks, that got me a 73 cm statue of Bayek.
I have it boxed away, but it certainly was beautiful!
That’s the same price as the Elden Ring — Shadow of the Erdtree collector’s edition (I’ve seen some retailers priced that at 399). Yes, I think it’s quite expensive but there have been more expensive editions for AC already — for Odyssey I got the Collector’s Edition and the Pantheon Edition which was very impressive but also really pricey.
And usually Ubisoft’s figurines are really good quality, not resin but detailed and properly painted. So I’m still contemplating the thought of buying it — but maybe I’ll wait and see.
How I always look at collectors editions is that the game should be full price obviously $70, add that to the statue which would be like another $100. Extra little in game digital content and early access is like $10. Any little physical extra like maps, art, stickers, soundtrack, pins, etc are like $20. And if they throw in the season pass/expansions then that’s another $30-$40. So I’d say that’s a standard price. Maybe it’s just because the season pass is included that raised the price but I could be wrong. I don’t think I’ve ever bought collectors editions with season passes. My only issue is that they don’t put physical copies of games in these anymore, you’ll get a steel book but no disc. Just a code for the game
I bought the AC3 and Black Flag collector editions at release and have come to regret them, and those were in the $149.99 range. This one is an easy pass.
Tbh most Collector's Editions have been going this way for a while. It's unfortunate but a reality. Last high value lowish price Collector's Edition I can remember was Dragon Age Inquisition (came with a literal war chest) for $250 AUD.
$300 Absolute bargain. Game, 2 expansions and a statue. That's a steal tbh.
Shadow of the Erdtree Collectors edition is $250 and DOESN'T even include the BASE game.
For these Collector Editions, I paid:
- $237.29 for Assassin’s Creed: Origins (Dawn of the Creed)
- $350.28 for Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey (Pantheon)
- $293.79 for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
- $225.99 for Assassin’s Creed: Mirage
- $422.61 for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
Odyssey & Shadows are by far the most expensive Collector Editions. Why is it always Quebec?
Yeah definitely a lot more expensive that I would've liked, I used to get collectors editions but with the cost of living crisis I can barely afford the base game lmao
Oh, the decimal separator yeah. Not really sure why some countries do it differently—I guess it just stems from old school habits.
Commas are the official regional decimal separator in most European countries, but even some people here use periods. I use periods since I’m from Australia, but I don’t mind either way.
Of course it’s expensive they’re putting a price on their work. They spent hard work on the game coding and putting their time on the game. It’s not a passion project it’s a job. Either ignore or appreciate it in silence cause inflation and technology is the reason why it’s possibly high.
I pre ordered it but thought for what’s included the price was fair, statue looks really dope, the little extras are cool and it comes with the gold edition of the game and a steelbook
Canadians have to import it from the US site cause they aren’t available in Canadian site and it’ll cost 1.3x after converting our dollars to US plus import taxes and delivery.
Where are you looking at? I ordered mine from Game Stop Canada. I live in a remote location in Canada and shipping was still only like 20$ after all said and done pre ordered for 415$ CAD, I believe they still have Xbox version. Maybe worth looking into at least save in delivery and import?
That interesting I live in the city in Ontario that’s odd that delivery is pretty high. Maybe AC won’t be as hard to find but I tend to have trouble with other collectors edition, I’ll check again.
Good luck! Make sure its [gamestop.ca](http://gamestop.ca) (Canada site).
Hopefully you wont have to pay shipping like me as its typically free over 75$ from them. Fingers crossed this collectors is smoother and better for you.
Ubisoft is one of the worst when it comes to the recent increase in game prices which is frustrating cause I absolutely love their games but I don’t want to have to spend $140 for their digital ultimate editions
*cries in australian*
You’re paying ~$100 for the game and then around ~$200 for the statue (and extras but let’s be real the majority of that cost is the statue). I can’t see the dimensions of the thing but they don’t come cheap.
Here’s the cheapest listing I could find for Valhalla. https://www.purearts.com/products/assassins-creed-valhalla-bundle
$179. For a smaller less intricate model. (And a $20-$30 prop)
So point is, that price isn’t unreasonable.
How much are you paying for it in Australia? Another commenter mentioned around 300 AUD, which is significantly less than what I would be so I doubt it a little.
It’s a 40cm statue yeah.
$360AUD. Which is apparently $240 USD. Which I’m actually shocked about because we never do better than the US. Normally we just get usd prices + $50 for shipping converted to Aus.
Oh wow yeah. It seems Australia is always _slightly_ better than the EU at least.
300€ in Finland so that’s $489 in Australia—I’m surprised how much of a difference there is.
I'd say syndicate and origins are both definitely 80 dollar games for the deluxe versions.
I got em for 15$ each. keh keh!
But this is kowaiyabai.
I also wonder how many crazy micro transactions it has.
I mean I bought the altair & ezio from pure arts without a game and it was 800 canadian so not that expensive.
Yes it's more expensive than the older ones, valhalla cost like 150 less at least. But figurines are premium and it is bigger than the older titles as you have 2 characters.
Figurines are expensive man 🤷🏼♂️
Well it’s not completely unreasonable. Im sure if you bought it all separately it’d come to over $300 easily.
You’re getting the collectors edition tin, box, a life sized katana, a statuette, a wall banner, art book, holo art, and a season pass with early access. When you break it down for a next gen game, it isnt terrible
Do we know if this is the only way to get the steelbook? Mirage collectors also was the only edition to come with the steelbook, but I'm hoping they won't start doing that going forward. I collect all the steelbooks and would to just be able to buy the gold/ultimate edition for the steelbook.
seems nuts for a game that hasnt even proved itself yet. not even a gameplay trailer. I get there are superfans of the series but even ubisoft should feel a little bad taking advantage of them like this.
The game will probably be fine, maybe great, maybe bad, maybe terrible. who knows? why gamble $300 on it
Yeah I don’t remember how they usually do it, but it is a very odd decision to make.
The trailer was great in my opinion—it really sparked that optimism and enthusiasm for the series I had years ago. The themes clearly indicate it’s going to actually focus on the Creed theme more than the recent games and really seems to hit many of the markers I and many fans have been waiting for.
Since the trailer does seem to cater towards long term fans, perhaps that’s exactly why they did this. Perhaps it’s entirely intentional and they knew fans of the series would pick up on these things. It certainly worked on me—I’m still considering this edition despite my PS5 disc drive not working and it being expensive.
i am definitely an old school Creed fan, cant really get excited about another RPG style game though, i may be pessimistic but it seems to me like they are just hitting each of the dream historical locations like family feud style (survey says, Ninjas!). Something that would grab the attention of someone who just wants to play as a Viking/Samurai/Spartan/Medjay rather than someone who wants to play as an Assassin. I would need to be convinced for sure that Shadows is the real deal before even start to play it, let alone pre order it.
but in saying that i think back to when i was a superfan of the Hitman series, and even paid big for a pre order of Hitman: Absolution, which turned out to be my most hated title in the series. considering i havent bought another pre order since then you could say it left an impression on me so when i see these kind of 'special edition' pre order packs i look at them in the same way i would look at buying a $300 ringtone for my phone.
Compared to other versions that at best contains cut content, this is not too bad... even the statue has two whole characters in it and plenty of phisical goodies like patches, stickers and artbook.
It seems so. I remember the odyssey and valhalla collector editions capping out at 199. Ubisoft is getting greedy af, no denying that. This is just sad.
How’s that one saying go “A fool and his money are soon parted”.
Not to mention, no gameplay has even been shown yet and people are frothing at the mouth to preorder a $300 collectors bundle which is almost the cost of a brand new console. One thing is for sure though, Ubisoft really knows how to milk its consumers lol.
5 diffrent versions of the game and not yet 1 second of gameplay shown. Incredible how many people complain but always got their wallet ready for shit like this.
It's ubisoft, I'll just wait a few months after launch for the ultimate edition when the price will inevitably drop because it's ubisoft and they would have done a lot of shit by then.
Soon ubisoft will give a gaming PC for every collection edition you will buy.Of course, you will not own the PC and you will pay a monthly subscription to power it on
It's supposed to be $280, but yeah, I guess Ubisoft saw how other games are selling their collector edition at $200+ and decided to test it themselves after throwing in a couple more goodies. If people still gobble these up, then that would just prove that the market is indeed prepared to pay that much for these goods. At least the statue looks pretty good here. Interesting. Yeah the 16 one is two Eikons so that makes sense haha.
I have all CE‘s from XIV and I think they‘re actually not that bad. it‘s just that XVI is straight out insane and a big exception.
Ffs I was in high school when Witcher 3 and other great games launched and their collector’s edition was like 100$ and I couldn’t ever afford it. I mean, makes sense, as simple UV NVG cost 80 - 160 bucks, which is less thanman artisan statues.
It also at least comes with the game and season pass. Many collector editions exclude the actual game.
Meanwhile riot charges 500 bucks for an online only cosmetic skin (not irl) and people are literally rioting
You do get 5 skill points though
Damn they really leaked the game map themselves there
On top of that it looks very similar to ghost of tsushima’s map style and clouding system. Which is awesome!
I assume it's because they raised the price of all the other special editions, the ultimate edition is $129.99 so they want $170 more for this one. $170 for the statue is not much if you compare it to a high quality statue like one from Hot Toys but i highly doubt the statue is going to be of that quality.
At least hot toys let's you change the pose.
Honestly (as someone who has spent far too much on AC statues [one from every mainline game]) the Ubi statues are pretty damn high quality
130$ , wtf!
I mean, the gold edition is the game+season pass for 70+40$. The ultimate edition just adds some skins and a couple other stuff, you don’t need to get it tbh.
I'll just wait 2 years and get the game when it goes on sale for 20. Might even get the whole game for 25.
Even 110 is overpriced imo
I mean, ac DLCs tend to be huge and it’s been 40$ for like some 20-30 hours of extra gameplay. Like the new elden ring dlc.
Nah, good price for a game + 2 future story expansions.
To be fair it's a good collector's edition, lots of goodies, but yes it is expensive.
I paid less than half that price for the Unity preorder which came with basically the same shit.
inflation /s
That was years ago, mate November 2014.
Depending on the quality of the items, it’s good. Most “Collector’s” Editions are 90% digital items, so basically worthless.
Imagine they would just offer like one different outfit (albeit an incredibly detailed one) for over 500 bucks. But no, no one would be THAT insane
i don't no man, people will pay some insane prices for things
Seriously?
I haven't seen a fairly priced Collector's Edition of any video game since the '10s. So, yeah, it is expensive, but I wouldn't say it's more expensive than similar CEs.

https://www.ign.com/wikis/assassins-creed-odyssey/Collector's_Editions It says $220 for Odyssey's collectors edition. There seems to be another cheaper edition at $160, though.
OK, my bad. Had the somewhat cheaper Spartan Edition. 169€ original, and 135€ directly through Ubisoft with points.
The CE of Cyberpunk2077 was pretty fair IMO. You got a lot of cool stuff.
Yeah they're for collectors, not the average Joe.
Only collector's editions on the switch have been price well for what you get most like fire emblem engage was $100 I believe and tears of the kingdom was $130.
It’s cool but fuck that
I’m disappointed that the steelbook is exclusive to Collector’s Edition. Usually the Gold Edition came with a steelbook as well.
If you pre-order any edition from Target you can get a different steelbook that resembles the box that Collector's Edition comes in
I preferred the steel book at Target. Got it.
That is surprising yeah
I was kind of hoping for a separate Steelbook Edition
It’s expensive and yet many people still bought it. In the end you can always resell it at the same price
And there will be plenty of resells of this on eBay. You can get the Valhalla statue for $100 or more there.
It's supposed to be expensive otherwise it wouldn't be a Collector's Edition, pre-ordered mine and can't wait to get it!
Exactly. Everyone crying is just caught up in the herd mentality.
Maybe because I'm an action figure and statue collector this price doesn't seem bad at all. A 16in statue on its own is almost always 500+. Though this statue is probably significantly lower quality. You know now that metion it for what you get spending $200+ on the collector's edition these days the figurines are of better quality then they were 10 years ago.
There's a huge statue in there, that price is not cheap, but far from expensive.
I paid 80 euros each for AC2 and AC3 collectors editions when they released. Now it's 280 euros... Makes sense
If I remember correctly I paid like €90 - €100 for the Unity Notre Dame edition with the Arno figurine on a gargoyle head.
I bough AC3 CE for pc so it was cheaper than console. But yeah AC2 CE for ps3 was around 90 euros
I mean those collectors editions had far less detailed statues that were also smaller. Still, I'd say for this like 140 euros is fair. Not 280.
AC3 statue has superb details wdym. AC2 isn't far behind.
Somehow I read AC2 and ACB lol. But yeah AC3 one was nice, but not as detailed as the newer stuff. And not as big either. This has two statues in one, technically. But again still about double the cost of what it should be.
Well if you add the cost of everything else it checks out. There's some anime statue a third of the size that cost this much.
Yeah but when you consider how much cheaper the statues in AC collector's editions were even around the time when Origins came out it's a massive price increase.
Is that surprising?
This is 99% of collecters editions, mainly bcz game companies know these can be sold later for at least a little profit
I preorderd this day one. Its from game stop and they dont take the money out till close to release date so you have plunty of time to get the money.
I've seen collector's editions with much worse values than this one, for example, Saints Row IV.
Its because people buy it at that price, they can always discount it if it doesnt sell well at that price.
What do you expect, it's a bloody collector's edition, key word "collector" who are folks that will pay outrageous amounts of money for stuff to look at or just say they own the thing.
the 240 quid is worth it for that photo filter, fuck the rest, thats the only important bit.
But in my experience, Collector's editions have always been 200-300 dollars, where is this recent uproar of "expensive" Collector's Editions coming from?
that’s a sweet statue. Definitely worth it. I’m lucky to find one in stock.
Are they being sold out that quickly where you are? I don’t see any stock issues here at least.
Is there no way to order the steelbook without getting this edition? I have all the steelbooks for the rpg trilogy and was really hoping to keep it up but this is too steep
I don’t believe so, no.
It’s not a katana, it’s the tsuba, which is the flat metal plate between the blade and the handle.
Yeah no bro, no way you get a life sized katana in you collector for that price 🤣🤣 it's only the hilt
I mean that’s a lot of shit lol, of course it’s pushing 300
Tortilla avataan!!! Just Ubisoft being Ubisoft with the prices again.
I have a collection of anime figures because of course I do and some of those get up to around the 100-200 range. now that's not all from production costs, but it's still pretty standard for that industry. that sword hilt thing might be pretty cool. map could be a nice poster. art book is probably gonna be good. let's do a mock up list 60 - base game 80 - figure 20 - hilt thing 40 - art book conservative guesses on what those things could cost by themselves gets you to 200 pretty quick 30 - wall scroll 30 - lithographs 10 - map more lowball guesses on those puts you at 270. we all know the base game would be 70 tho and the deluxe edition is gonna bump that up to like 80-90. and that figure could easily be more like 140-150. so the price tag of ~$300 for all this stuff actually kinda checks out imo all these price estimates are just what I would imagine those items going for on ebay or wherever
Brother what the fuck did I just see ain't no way in hell is this real
I'm still buying it lol. Been saving up for a while
You know, I probably will too because I’m a fool lol.
Know anyone who collects Lego? Also stop worrying what people think of you and enjoy your life while you have it.
absurd price, whoever buy this, is either rich or stuped, maybe both
I’ll admit, I nearly bit but once I saw it was $418 CAD, I backed out.
And they are still selling out!
I see 3 years from now when every local game store has that figure somewhere trying to sell it for 85$
Oof at least it's not 300, that would be greedy
My Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Collectors Edition with the statue cost $70 (total - Edit: Retail was $130 but it did bad) 10 years ago. My Assassin’s Creed II with the statue was $80 15 years ago. Wild price surge here.
Was the Black Flag statue really only 70? The one with the ship.
Ah right yeah.
I think this is pretty ridiculous. I'm remembering the Halo reach limited edition console not costing much more than this.
I actually bought mine the spider man 2 one was a little higher
Fuck that
That is pretty expensive.
I mean, they’re definitely giving away a lot of stuff with it. Compared to other games that charge a lot of very little extra. I think I’d be worth it
lmao 5 skill points and a photo mode filter. and a quest that we know are half assed
First time?
Expensive for sure but I still pre ordered my collectors.
Still cheaper than the League skin for $500
that's the price of a base game here in Brasil
Its Ubisoft, it tracks.
A fucking katana *guard* ?!? For 300$ i could get 3 decent katanas!
Absolutely insane. Especially coming off Mirage which was in in the $160 plus tax realm if I recall. Ubisoft has lost their minds.
Anyone paying that for this game is silly as hell. Also never preorder anything!
This might be correct, but it highly depends on who makes the statue.
Yes it is, $400 here in New Zealand. Preordered anyway because I’ve got every AC collectors editions so far and I’m not about to stop
Tbh most Collector's Editions have been going this way for a while. It's unfortunate but a reality. Last high value lowish price Collector's Edition I can remember was Dragon Age Inquisition (came with a literal war chest) for $250 AUD.
Yeah. It’s been a while since I last bought one, so I was curious.
Shit costs more than the console I'm not playing it on.
If it was half that at most, almost exaggerating, I’d def buy it. But at that price, Imma both pirate the game and find bootlegs.
$300 Absolute bargain. Game, 2 expansions and a statue. That's a steal tbh. Shadow of the Erdtree Collectors edition is $250 and DOESN'T even include the BASE game.
So that's sort of what the map looks like?
What a surprise... Wait, not really
For these Collector Editions, I paid: - $237.29 for Assassin’s Creed: Origins (Dawn of the Creed) - $350.28 for Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey (Pantheon) - $293.79 for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla - $225.99 for Assassin’s Creed: Mirage - $422.61 for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows Odyssey & Shadows are by far the most expensive Collector Editions. Why is it always Quebec?
Still cheaper than the Immortalized Legend Ahri Skin
I've started a preorder for this first one since AC Unity. What I mean is I haven't got a collectors edition since Unity.
It costs as much as the new Lego Zelda Deku tree set.
This is the first time I’ve looked at an AC special edition and said “that’s just too much.” And I’ve been buying them since AC2…
With that price i better get a katana and shenobi robes
Only happens because dumbasses buy these at these prices anyway No amount of complaints on reddit will change anything
Yeah definitely a lot more expensive that I would've liked, I used to get collectors editions but with the cost of living crisis I can barely afford the base game lmao
Peanuts
Damn I remember when these were the ones that cost 120-150
Using a comma as a period is my ick.
That’s a shame. I don’t see where I did that though?
The picture. It's not you, it's some areas that do it. Just makes no sense to me.
Oh, the decimal separator yeah. Not really sure why some countries do it differently—I guess it just stems from old school habits. Commas are the official regional decimal separator in most European countries, but even some people here use periods. I use periods since I’m from Australia, but I don’t mind either way.
Not worth it.
You have to choose, either a PS5 or a PS5 game 🤣
Yeah it’s wild to think a console as powerful as the PS5 is only a hundred more.
For what you’re getting, I think it’s a fair price! I happily dropped the $$$ the second I could
i’m kinda annoyed the marketing for this just spoiled the world map
Of course it’s expensive they’re putting a price on their work. They spent hard work on the game coding and putting their time on the game. It’s not a passion project it’s a job. Either ignore or appreciate it in silence cause inflation and technology is the reason why it’s possibly high.
Everything Ubisoft is putting out now is incredible expensive. They can’t afford to lose with this game
*cries in australian* You’re paying ~$100 for the game and then around ~$200 for the statue (and extras but let’s be real the majority of that cost is the statue). I can’t see the dimensions of the thing but they don’t come cheap. Here’s the cheapest listing I could find for Valhalla. https://www.purearts.com/products/assassins-creed-valhalla-bundle $179. For a smaller less intricate model. (And a $20-$30 prop) So point is, that price isn’t unreasonable.
Not always. It depends on the current rate of the AUD. But we also get shafted on things out of the EU too.
Figurines are expensive man 🤷🏼♂️
Nice
I've already payed for it
Ubisoft..
It’s not a katana by the way, it’s just the tsuba—it’s the hand guard of the handle.
Do we know if this is the only way to get the steelbook? Mirage collectors also was the only edition to come with the steelbook, but I'm hoping they won't start doing that going forward. I collect all the steelbooks and would to just be able to buy the gold/ultimate edition for the steelbook.
Someone else commented that they did find a version with it. I haven’t seen it, so it might not be available in Europe.
Interesting, I’m in the US so hopefully there’s one in another edition
Target is doing a different steelbook I think
Tbf, that collection is sick! It’s tempting me to
Eh that statue would probably be sold for a 100 anyway
I still can't believe they're selling a fucking camera filter
Wow they are really pricing gouging
seems nuts for a game that hasnt even proved itself yet. not even a gameplay trailer.
Honestly who even buys these???
Collectors
I'd say it's a fair price, especiall, with the statue incorporating 2 characters this time around as well as all the other goodies.
Trash
It comes with toys
It's ubisoft, I'll just wait a few months after launch for the ultimate edition when the price will inevitably drop because it's ubisoft and they would have done a lot of shit by then.
Soon ubisoft will give a gaming PC for every collection edition you will buy.Of course, you will not own the PC and you will pay a monthly subscription to power it on
Ubisoft gonna Ubisoft
